Abstract

Abstract: The biosorption of well water using biosorbent from areca fiber waste of Jambi province has been performed to elevate well water quality. In environmental preservation, this research aimed to reduce a solid waste of areca fiber waste, which has only been burned so far. This activity would increase carbon emissions in the atmosphere. These materials were obtained using carbonizations (300 and 400 oC) and without carbonization. The proper material is used as a biosorbent was 400 oC sized 200 mesh. The material showed several functional groups on the biosorbent surface, such as hydroxyl, amide, amine, and carbonyl. Interestingly, using this material, the water quality can be increased by treatments of odor, color, pH, TDS, TSS, and E. coli under conditions 1.25 g biosorbent, 50 oC, and 150 rpm for 30 minutes. The adsorption results were compared with the value from the standard of Permenkes No.146/Menkes/Per/IX/1990. Based on the explanation, it is resumed that biosorbent derived from areca fiber waste is effective, inexpensive, and easy to operate for increasing well water quality.Abstrak: Adsorpsi air sumur menggunakan biosorbent dari limbah sabut pinang Provinsi Jambi telah dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas air sumur. Pada pelestarian lingkungan, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi limbah padat sabut pinang, yang selama ini hanya dibakar. Kegiatan ini akan meningkatkan emisi karbo ke atmosfir. Material-material ini diperoleh menggunakan karbonisasi (300 dan 400 oC) dan tanpa karbonisasi. Material yang tepat digunakan sebagai biosorben adalah 400 oC berukuran 200 mesh. Material ini memperlihatkan beberapa gugus fungsi pada permukaan biosorben, seperti hidroksil, amida, amina, dan karbonil. Menariknya, penggunaan material ini, kualitas air dapat ditingkatkan menggunakan treament aroma, warna, pH, TDS, TSS, dan E.Coli pada kondisi 1,25 gram biosorben, 50 oC, 150 rpm, dan selama 30 menit. Hasil adsorpsi dibandingkan dengan nilai standar Permenkes No.146/Menkes/Per/IX/1996. Berdasarkan penjelasan, hal ini disimpulkan bahwa biosorben dari limbah sabut pinang efektif, dan mudah untuk menggunakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas air sumur.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis android untuk memudahkan pemahaman konsep trigonometri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang didukung data kuantitatif. Model Pengembangan yang digunakan yaitu ADDIE. Karya inovasi ini dibuat dengan macromediaflash 8. Subjek dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 8 siswa pada ujicoba kelompok kecil dan 30 siswa pada ujicoba kelompok besar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu angket dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data kualitatif dengan menggunakan model Miles Huberman.Hasilpengembangan diperoleh sebuah media pembelajaran yang dapat membantu siswa untuk mempermudah mengingat rumus trigonometri. The purpose of this research is to develop interactive android based learning media to facilitate understanding of trigonometric concepts. This research is a development research with qualitative approach supported by quantitative data. Development model used is ADDIE. The innovation work was made with Macromedia Flash 8. The subjects in this study consisted of 8 students on a small group trial and 30 students on a large group trial. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and interviews. Qualitative data analysis technique using Miles Huberman model. The results of the development obtained a learning media that can help students to simplify remembering the trigonometric formula. Abstract

This study is discusses about the implementation model of learning cooperative type make a match on the subjects of Natural Sciences (IPA) Integrated, especially in grade VIIIA students of Baiturrahim Junior High School Jambi City. The purpose of this research is to know the application of cooperative learning model type make a match can help improve students' learning results in Natural Science lessons in grade VIII Baiturrahim Junior High School Jambi City. This research uses Class Action Research which consists of four stages in each cycle namely planning, action, observation and reflection. As for the data on the increase in the percentage of learning completion: before the implementation of learning research by applying the make a match (Pre cycle) model, the number of students who achieved learning completion was the number of 8 students (38.1%). Then after the percentage of learning completed in cycle I learning increased to 15 students (71.4%), cycle II increased to 20 students (95,23%). From these results can be concluded that the application of cooperative models of make a match type can improve students' learning outcomes in human digestive system materials and gastrointestinal tract.

Abstract

The preliminary research was conducted to explore the potency of Areca fiber waste (Areca catechu L) from Tanjung Jabung Timur, Jambi Province as carbon source which would be used as a raw material in biosorben production. Activated carbon production was carried out using physical activation on 400 ͦ C, 300 ͦ C, and without carbonization. The collected activated carbon was sifted using 100 mesh sieve. The biosorbents were characterized by water content, ash content, functional groups, and surface area. Based on the result of this research, it could be concluded that carbonization process can disclose the material pores to increase adsorption. The water content, ash content, and surface area of 300 ͦ C sample were 2 %; 45,72 %, and 25,77 m2g-1, respectively.The functional group on the surface of biosorbent would be interacted with adsorbat in adsorption process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether or not teaching biology to students at SMAN 2 Merangin using the Predict Observe Explain learning model has an effect on the cognitive learning outcomes of students. This study employs a One-Group Preetest-Posttest Design with a quantitative pre-experimental methodology. Total sampling was used, which means that all students in class X IPA 1 which amounted to 22 people were included in the research sample. Learning outcomes were assessed with a 30-question multiple-choice test used as the research instrument. Students' cognitive learning outcomes were calculated by means of a pre-test score of 77.87, a mean post-test score of 81.96, and a significance value of 0.000) <0.05 using a t-test. If the Effect Size is considered to be 0.00 or 50%, then the results show that H_a is accepted and H_o is rejected. That is, the Predict Observe Explain Learning Model has an effect on the cognitive domain of biology learning outcomes for class X IPA 1 SMAN 2 Merangin

Abstract

Pelaksanaan workshop Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Robotik di SMPN 32 Muaro Jambi dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil studi awal yang menunjukkan kesulitan para Guru dalam menyiapkan dan memberikan tugas proyek kepada Siswa. Kegiatan workshop ini dilakukan melalui kolaborasi Dosen Universitas Jambi, Universitas Dinamika Bangsa dan UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman Guru tentang kegiatan proyek terintegrasi STEM Robotik dan motivasi belajar Siswa. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode workshop. Subjek pengabdian terdiri dari 12 Guru dan 31 Siswa kelas VII. Instrumen pengabdian berupa soal tes esai untuk mengetahui pemahaman Guru tentang pembelajaran berbasis proyek terintegrasi STEM robotic dan lembar kuesioner untuk mendapatkan data motivasi belajar Siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah dengan tes dan survei. Analisis data peningkatan pemahaman Guru dilakukan dengan uji N-Gain dan paired t-test, sedangkan motivasi belajar Siswa dikodekan berdasarkan jawaban Siswa pada setiap item dalam kuesioner. Hasil workshop menunjukkan data N-Gain sebesar 0,4 dan paired t test sebesar 0,00, yang artinya kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman Guru dalam memahami konsep dan implementasi pembelajaran proyek yang terintegrasi STEM Robotik. Selain itu, data motivasi belajar Siswa menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan wokshop ini menjadikan Siswa termotivasi untuk lebih terlibat aktif dalam belajar.

Abstract

The problem in this study is that the learning carried out is still using a conventional approach so that communication only occurs in one direction which results in less active students in teaching and learning activities.Therefore, this research was carried out with the aim of knowing the effect of the application of Natural Surroundings (JAS) on the learning outcomes of class X students at State Senior High School 9 Tanjung Jabung Timur in Biology Subjects. The type of research used is quantitative research with interview instruments, tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis testing. Researchers took the entire population as a sample. The total sampling is 68 students. 34 students of class X Mathematics and Natural Sciences 1 and 34 students of class X Mathematics and Natural Sciences 2. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the results of the normality test were obtained for the control class posttest sig 0.11˃0.05 and the experimental class posttest obtained sig 1.22˃0.05 so that can be concluded to meet the normal assumptions. The results of the homogeneity test are sig 1.79˃0.005, which means the data is homogeneous. The results of the hypothesis test are obtained with a value of sig (2 tailed) = 0.000˂0.005, which means the research can be accepted or there is an influence. In other words, the implementation of Neighborhood Exploration (JAS) at the Tanjung Jabung Timur 9 State High School is very good and appropriate, greatly affecting learning outcomes, as evidenced by the implementation of the Surrounding Nature Exploration (JAS) learning which shows an average of 86.2 experimental posttest and 66.3 posttest control or good category. This shows that there is an influence between the Surrounding Nature Exploration (JAS) approach to student learning outcomes in the class X ecosystem material at SMP Negeri 9 Tanjung Jabung Timur.Keywords: Exploring the Surrounding Nature, student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study to upgrade science learning outcomes by using learning think pair and share in MAN 2 Tanjung Jabung Timur. The research methods used s the method of action research. The subjects of this study were students of class XI MAN 2 Tanjung Jabung Timur which consisted of 32 students and 1 teacher in charge of biology class XI MAN 2 Tanjung Jabung Timur. This research uses Kurt Lewin design or model. While data collection is done by observation, test, interview, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the uses think pair and share model can improve student learning outcomes in the learning process. Improved student learning outcomes can be seen from the results of the test each cycle, student learning outcomes in the first cycle of 53% with the category low, while student learning in the second cycle amounted of 86% with the category high. Thus the results of the research in MAN 2 Tanjung Jabung Timur increased. Keywords: Think Pair and Share, Biology, Learning outcomes

Abstract

Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah di lakukan pada tanggal 29 Juli 2021 di temukan masih banyak kesulitan yang di hadapi para siswa apalagi di masa pandemi saat ini, Yaitu masalah kesulitan belajar. Penelitian ini bertempat di SMP 16 Kota Jambi populasi yang di gunakan pada penelitian ini ada 2 kelas , subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII D dan VIII E penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan siswa belajar IPA pada masa pandemi covid-19 di SMP 16 kota jambi meliputi minat dan sikap sedangkan faktor eksternal meliputi lingkungan kesuarga, kesehatan dan kebiasaan belajar siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan angket dan wawancara dokumentasi. Kata Kunci: Kesulitan belajar IPA

Abstract

One way to evaluate general biology practicum is to know the students' perceptions of general biology practicum. This study aims to determine student perceptions of general biology practicum, general biology practicum planning, facilities and infrastructure of general biology practicum, and also to determine the perceptions of students towards the implementation of general biology practicum majoring in biology IAIN Kerinci. This research belongs to the category of qualitative research. To get the data the researcher used the study (1) Observation, observed the general Biology practicum, (2) Interview, semester 1 student lecturer and department head, (3) Documents, data about vision and mission department, and general Biology practicum guide. The results obtained based on the results of data analysis and discussion can be concluded (1) Perception of the General Biology practicum planning Department of Biology Tadris IAIN Kerinci is quite good. (2) Perception of the first semester biology student of IAIN Kerinci regarding the facilities and infrastructure of general biology practicum namely practicum guide is still incomplete and inadequate. (3) The first semester biology student IAIN Kerinci's perceptions regarding the implementation of general boiology practicum, firstly in each practicum the teaching assistant is still not right to use the strategy properly. Second, the media displayed is good, and also for the practicum schedule it has been said on schedule.
