Abstract

Training, certification, and education play a crucial role in improving employee performance at the Asam-Asam Power Plant (PLTU Asam-Asam), as these three aspects enhance the competencies, skills, and knowledge required to address the company's operational challenges. The study aims to determine the influence of training, certification, and education on improving employee performance at PLTU Asam-Asam. This research employs a quantitative method with a hypothesis testing design to examine the causal relationship between the variables of Training, Certification, Education, and Employee Performance at PLTU Asam-Asam. It uses saturated sampling techniques and data analysis through SEM-PLS to test the validity, reliability, and influence among variables. The analysis shows that training has the highest influence, with a beta coefficient of 0.396 and a t-statistic value of 4.588, followed by certification with a beta coefficient of 0.240 and a t-statistic value of 2.482, and education with a beta coefficient of 0.233 and a t-statistic value of 2.543. These human resource development programs are deemed effective, with respondents' average perceptions of the training, certification, and education variables at 4.47, 4.46, and 4.48, respectively, on a Likert scale. The study also notes that the model's Goodness of Fit value of 0.583 indicates a good model fit, while the Q² predictive relevance value of 0.466 demonstrates the model's predictive capability in explaining the influence of independent variables on employee performance.

Abstract

PLTU Asam-Asam faces challenges in managing working hours, the effectiveness of knowledge management, and the transparency of performance appraisals, which can affect employee satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the impact of working hours, knowledge management, and performance appraisals on employee satisfaction at PLTU Asam-Asam. The research method employs a quantitative approach using the SEM-PLS analysis technique, with a sample of 183 employees collected through a Likert-scale-based questionnaire. The novelty of this research lies in the simultaneous analysis of the three variables within the steam power plant industry context, which has been relatively unexplored in previous studies. The results show that working hours (β=0.222, T=2.507, p=0.012), knowledge management (β=0.258, T=2.577, p=0.010), and performance appraisal (β=0.319, T=3.070, p=0.002) have a positive and significant impact on employee satisfaction, with performance appraisal being the most influential variable. The three variables' interaction also substantially impacts employee satisfaction (β=0.237, T=2.375, p=0.026). These findings confirm that a combination of optimal working hours management, effective knowledge management systems, and transparent performance appraisal mechanisms can enhance employee well-being and satisfaction while encouraging more adaptive human resource management policies.

Abstract

Quiet quitting refers to employees performing only their assigned duties without additional engagement, often triggered by a lack of appreciation, unfair compensation, job burnout, and an unsupportive organizational culture, which in turn affects productivity, employee retention, and organizational stability. This study aims to identify its causes, impact on employee productivity and organizational culture, and effective mitigation strategies. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with PRISMA guidelines, 12 relevant articles were selected from 78 identified in the Scopus database (2015–2025). Findings indicate that fair compensation, employee well-being, a positive work culture, and supportive leadership can reduce quiet quitting, while policies promoting work-life balance and transparent communication enhance employee engagement. These insights contribute to HR management strategies, with future research recommended to explore organizational interventions across industries for a more comprehensive approach.

Abstract

The SP4N LAPOR application is designed to manage public complaints and enhance service quality. However, its implementation in Cirebon City faces challenges, including low responsiveness, lack of transparency, and limited public awareness. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the LAPOR application in handling infrastructure-related complaints by examining commitment, accessibility, responsiveness, transparency, accountability, privacy, and confidentiality. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data were collected from purposively selected informants from the Communication and Informatics Agency (DKIS) and the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (DPUTR). Findings indicate that despite governmental support, challenges persist in training, technical assistance, and complaint resolution consistency. While accessibility is adequate, public engagement remains low. Responsiveness is hindered by delays and limited transparency. Accountability requires clearer information on complaint handling and responsible authorities. To optimize the LAPOR application’s effectiveness, this study recommends improving complaint management mechanisms, strengthening technological infrastructure, and enhancing public outreach.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is vital for economic growth, yet Indonesia’s entrepreneurial rate remains low. This study extends the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) by integrating self-confidence and entrepreneurial intent as mediating variables. Using a case study in Medan, data from 400 entrepreneurs were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using Smart PLS 4.0. The findings confirm that entrepreneurial attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control positively influence entrepreneurial intent and behavior. Self-confidence significantly affects entrepreneurial intent but does not directly impact entrepreneurial behavior. However, entrepreneurial intent mediates the relationship between self-confidence and entrepreneurial behavior, emphasizing the critical role of intent in translating psychological and social factors into entrepreneurial action. These results highlight the need for a supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem encompassing education, industry collaboration, and policy interventions. Practical implications suggest entrepreneurship training programs emphasizing business simulations, mentorship, and confidence-building strategies. Additionally, access to financial resources, social support, and favorable regulatory frameworks is essential for fostering entrepreneurial success. By refining the TPB framework with self-confidence and entrepreneurial intent, this study provides both theoretical insights and practical strategies for strengthening entrepreneurship in Medan and beyond. Future research should explore longitudinal data and comparative regional studies to deepen the understanding of entrepreneurial decision-making.

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to describe how the financial management of Hajj in Indonesia (BPKH) in performing its duties from 2018 to 2023. In this way, it will be clear what and how BPKH manages Hajj funds, which amount to hundreds of trillions of rupiah. The author analyzes the financial statements of BPKH from 2018 to 2023.The BPIH adjustment pattern, Bipih, and the value of benefits are secondary data that we use as the main raw material to see the performance of BPKH in managing Hajj funds. Then, the financial statements will be calculated annually so that the difference in net profit generated by BPKH will be seen. This research uses a qualitative approach. Researchers used secondary data in the form of books on Hajj financial management and BPKH annual financial reports as well as articles from relevant research findings. The method used in this article is library research using the systematic literature review (SLR) technique. The results of this study indicate that BPKH in managing Hajj funds in Indonesia still faces challenges in reporting transparency, internal control effectiveness, and compliance. The imbalance between benefit value receipts and BPIH subsidies has the potential to pose a liquidity risk and unsustainability of Hajj finances.

Abstract

Employee performance in the manufacturing industry is the key to the company’s success, influenced by individual abilities as well as factors such as work stress, workload, and the interrelated work environment. Given the significance of these factors, the study aims to identify how they affect employee performance in the manufacturing sector. A quantitative approach was used, with a simple random sampling method selecting 110 respondents from a population of 183 in the production section. Data was collected through a Likert scale-based questionnaire consisting of 42 statements, reflecting indicators for each variable. SPSS version 25 was used to analyze the data, including validity and reliability tests, hypothesis testing using the t-test, and classical assumption tests such as normality and multicollinearity. The normality test results indicate that the data is normally distributed (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test value = 0.093, p > 0.05), and the multicollinearity test confirms no excessive relationship between the independent variables (tolerance > 0.10, VIF < 10). Hypothesis testing reveals that work stress (X1) and workload (X2) have insignificant negative effects on employee performance (t = -1.697 and t = -1.865, p > 0.05), while the work environment (X3) has a small but positive effect (t = 1.664, p > 0.05), though not statistically significant. These results suggest that while stress and workload do not significantly hinder performance, a supportive work environment may contribute positively, albeit marginally, to employee productivity.
