Abstract

Internship programs play a crucial role in bridging academic knowledge with professional practice, yet their impact on career decisions remains underexplored. This study investigates how career development and work-life balance influence the career decisions of university interns, with a focus on the moderating role of work-life balance. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze data from 174 internship students at PT United Tractors Tbk MSIB Batch 6 in Indonesia. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires measuring career development, work-life balance, and career interest. Statistical analysis, including validity, reliability, and moderation tests, was conducted using SmartPLS 3. Career development significantly and positively affected interns’ career decisions (β = 0.344, p < 0.001), as did work-life balance (β = 0.261, p < 0.001). Furthermore, work-life balance strengthened the relationship between career development and career decisions, acting as a significant moderator (β = 0.748, p < 0.001). The model explained 58.2% of the variance in career decisions.  Internship programs that integrate structured career development initiatives and prioritize work-life balance are essential for fostering career readiness. Organizations should offer mentorship, flexible schedules, and skill-building opportunities, while universities should equip students with strategies to manage professional and personal responsibilities. These findings underscore the need for holistic internship designs that address both technical and well-being aspects.

Abstract

Tomini Bay holds tremendous potential for the development of marine fish farming, particularly through the environmentally friendly and economically valuable Floating Net Cage (FNC) system. This study aims to analyze risk management and formulate development strategies for a fish farming business based on the Teaching Factory (TeFa) model at SMKN 1 Popayato, serving as an integrated vocational education model aligned with industry needs. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using SWOT analysis and a risk matrix. The results indicate that most identified risks fall into the moderate category, with one operational risk classified as high. Risk management strategies were implemented through mitigation and risk-sharing approaches, including competency-based training, human resource capacity building, partnerships with industry stakeholders, and adaptive cultivation practices in response to environmental changes. The study recommends enhancing human resource competencies and strengthening partnerships as key strategic actions to ensure the sustainability of the TeFa FNC business. These findings are expected to serve as a valuable reference for the development of productive vocational education units in the fisheries sector.

Abstract

The rapid progress of information and communication technology has led to the rise of various non-cash payment methods, such as credit cards, digital wallets, and bank transfers, which are increasingly being used. These payment alternatives' ease, speed, and efficiency have significantly influenced consumer behaviour, particularly in urban areas. This study explores the impact of cashless payment adoption and consumer trust on shopping behaviour. The study population consists of residents of Cirebon City aged 20 to 41 years, totalling 134,143 people (BPS Cirebon City, 2024). Based on the Slovin formula, a sample of 399 respondents was chosen using a Simple Random Sampling technique. The collected data was analysed using the SEM-PLS (Partial Least-Structural Equation Modelling) method. The results demonstrate that consumer trust and cashless payment methods significantly impact consumer behaviour. On the other hand, trust is more critical when changing conduct.   Some customers are still hesitant to utilise non-cash transactions because they lack confidence due to a lack of education, have poor knowledge of digital transaction security, and worry about data exploitation. Therefore, increasing consumer awareness and education on secure digital payment systems is crucial to strengthening trust and encouraging the adoption of cashless payments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of transformational leadership and compensation on employee performance, with career development as a mediating variable, in the context of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The concepts used include the theories of transformational leadership, compensation, career development, and employee performance in the perspective of human resource management. The research approach applied is a quantitative approach with a survey method through distributing questionnaires to 100 respondents, and analyzed using multiple linear regression and sobel test. The results showed that transformational leadership and compensation have a positive and significant influence on employee performance, both directly and through career development. However, the indirect effect through career development is not statistically significant. The implications of these results suggest that SMEs need to focus attention on inspirational leadership practices and fair compensation systems as key performance improvement strategies, even though career development systems are not yet fully structured.
