Abstract

Critical thinking skills are fundamental skills in 21st-century learning. One of these skills is influenced by students' reading literacy. However, reading literacy activities in elementary schools have yet to be maximized. This study aimed to analyze teachers' needs in elementary school learning and produce a prototype of the Tri Hita Karana Reading Literacy model. This type of research is research and development (RnD). The research and development model design used was adapted from Borg and Gall's theory. The subjects involved were 55 teachers in the preliminary study, 6 people, and 2 practitioners for the product feasibility test. Methods of data collection for preliminary study are using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The research results show that teachers must develop a model to maximize students' literacy activities. Second, the average calculation of the validator's assessment results is 4.3, which means it is in the very good category, with an average number of content aspects of 4.3, layout and design aspects of 4.2, and grammar of 4,4. These results indicate that the THK Literacy Model is considered to have met the validity criteria. The conclusion of the experts regarding the development of this model is that the model can be used with several revisions.

Abstract

Basic education in Indonesia has experienced various curriculum developments, from the 2013 Curriculum to the Independent Learning Curriculum. However, from a transitional point of view, it still needs to provide a clear direction for some practitioners. This study aims to analyze the mapping of planning, to implement, and evaluating science learning in the 2013 Independent Learning Curriculum. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data validity test was carried out by source triangulation. The subjects of this study were the principal and teachers of class IV SD. Data analysis techniques performed interactive models: data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study show that the teacher prepares the administration of the Science learning plan in the 2013 Curriculum, namely the syllabus, porta, promissory notes, preparation of lesson plans for Learning Implementation Plans (RPP), media, teaching materials, and evaluation, while in the Independent Learning Curriculum, the teacher prepares learning tools in the form of Learning Outcomes ( CP), Learning Objectives (TP), Learning Objective Flow (ATP), teaching modules, and evaluation. The implementation of science learning in the 2013 Curriculum uses integrated thematic learning supported by applying a scientific approach, while in the Merdeka Learning Curriculum, it is carried out based on products, processes, and attitudes. In evaluating science learning in the 2013 curriculum, teachers use the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains, while in the Merdeka Learning Curriculum, teachers use diagnostic assessments, formative assessments, summative assessments, and projects.

Abstract

In school, the teacher must be a role model for students with a good attitude during the learning process so that behavioral deviations do not occur, such as bullying against students and co-workers in educational practice. Deviant behaviors can be imitation material for students, which impacts the teacher's low ethics in teaching. This research aims to analyze the roles of good teacher ethics in the growth of students' character and habits. This type of research is qualitative research. The participants in this study were 17 teachers in an elementary school with at least 10 years of teaching experience. They collect data using data collection techniques, documentation, observation, and interviews. Data analysis uses an interactive model from Miles & Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results of the study show that the teacher's ethics as a role model are shown in their words, attitudes, and personality, such as politeness, discipline, responsibility, tolerance, honesty, and caring for students and others that have been implemented by teachers and have a good influence on student character through habituation. Factors that support student character development include the school community's commitment, curriculum content standards, principal leadership, togetherness, and tolerance. The teacher's ethical values are central values that can be role models for students in communicating and behaving to help grow student character in today's developments.
