Abstract

Regrouping can solve the problem of a need for more students and teachers in schools, but this also needs to improve its implementation. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause public elementary school regrouping and explain the impact of implementing school regrouping policies. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study type. The subjects of this study were 37 public elementary schools (SDN). Data collection techniques were carried out in this study through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data validity technique used in this study was method triangulation and key informant review. Data analysis techniques using interactive models include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that the main factor causing school regrouping was the low number of students and teachers. The impact of school regrouping includes overcoming the problem of the shortage of students and teachers, the occurrence of effectiveness and efficiency in school administration, etc. In addition to the positive impacts, school regrouping also has negative impacts, namely the emergence of disappointment among teachers who are forced to change assignments and adapt themselves to a new work or school environment, non-fulfillment of teaching hours for honorary teachers, adjustments to character and work culture, etc. The results of this study can contribute to the better implementation of school regrouping.

Abstract

The presence of the Merdeka Curriculum as a new curriculum in Indonesia requires teachers to be able to adapt to these changes. On the other hand, there still needs to be more teacher references in implementing meaningful and character learning as aspired to through this new curriculum. Therefore, this development research aims to develop STEM-based teaching modules for 4th-grade elementary schools integrated with the Pancasila Student Profile. This type of research is developed using the ADDIE development model (Analyse, Design, Development, Implement, Evaluate). This research involved teachers and 50 grade 4 students in one of the public elementary schools in Indonesia. The modules were developed based on the needs of teachers and students obtained through observation, interviews, and diagnostic tests on students. Data analysis techniques using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The study's results, namely the validation of the experts on the module, showed a very good category for the material, display, and graphic aspects. The developed module is considered very practical for teachers in the classroom, while the student response to learning using the module is very good. It has a direct impact on student learning outcomes which are very satisfying. Thus, the developed module is feasible and can be an alternative reference for teachers in carrying out STEM-based learning by integrating the values of the Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

Mathematics learning for autistic students needs to be done concretely and interestingly. If this is implemented, it is hoped that autistic students will be able to understand and even use mathematics in everyday life. This study aimed to analyze semiotic objects in the bead maze media for learning mathematics for autistic students in elementary schools. The research was conducted in a descriptive qualitative manner. Methods of data collection through observation, documentation, and interviews with elementary school mathematics teachers and assistants for autistic students. Observations were made by observing the bead maze adaptive media. Objects that can be observed are the beads in it, such as different shapes and colors. Interviews were conducted with one third-grade autistic student, an elementary school math teacher, and an assistant teacher. Data obtained from observation, documentation, and interviews were then analyzed using triangulation. The triangulation methodology is carried out by comparing the information obtained from observation, documentation, and interviews. The study results found that six primary semiotic objects, namely language, problem situations, concepts, procedures, properties, and arguments, have been identified based on basic mathematical concepts (numbers, algebra, geometry, measurement) being studied in the third grade. Each semiotic object in bead maze media can potentially increase students' mathematical activities, which are contextual, interesting, and meaningful for autistic students in elementary schools.

Abstract

Thinking creatively is very important for students in the 21st century because the demands of the times expect creative students to discover new things with advances in science and technology. The learning method applied at this time has yet to be able to train students to think creatively. This study aims to analyze differences in students' creative thinking skills between the mind mapping method and the picture and picture method. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a posttest-only control group design. The sample used was 45 fifth-grade elementary school students. The data collection technique uses a creative thinking ability test, which consists of four indicators: the ability to think fluently, flexibly, originality, and elaboration. Data analysis used a t-test through Jeffreys's Amazing Statistics software program. The results of the data analysis showed that Cohen's d score was 0.830. These results indicate a significant difference between the two learning methods. Based on the average score and the percentage of scores obtained by students on each indicator of creative thinking, it shows that mind mapping is superior to the picture-and-picture method in developing creative thinking. It was concluded that elementary school teachers can apply the mind mapping method to develop students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

The confusion in the independent curriculum started from the teachers' need to understand the learning outcomes set by the government. It also impacts their multiple interpretations of the preparation of learning tools and their embodiment in their respective classes. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the application of the independent curriculum in higher grades, especially in implementing the project-based learning model in Indonesian subjects. This research is a phenomenological qualitative research. The research subjects were selected based on purposive considerations. The selection of informants used knowledge and competency criteria related to the application of project-based learning to the prototype curriculum in driving schools in Yogyakarta. Data collection techniques used are observation and documentation. At the same time, the data analysis technique uses qualitative-interactive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the problem of implementing the independent curriculum in the upper grades of elementary schools is the problem of the flow of learning objectives that occurs in the adaptation of teachers from implementing the 2013 curriculum to an independent curriculum. Several problems in implementing the independent curriculum in Indonesian language learning in elementary school high grades, namely problems in aspects of the flow of learning objectives, problems in learning scenarios, and problems in student worksheets.
