Abstract

The tourism sector plays a significant role in driving economic growth. However, tourism development in Jerukleueut Village faces several challenges, particularly in inadequate infrastructure, limited supporting tourism facilities, and uneven spatial distribution of these facilities. This study aims to identify the types of supporting tourism facilities available and to determine their spatial distribution patterns. The research utilizes the Nearest Neighbor Analysis (NNA) method to analyze the spatial distribution pattern of supporting tourism facilities. The results indicate the presence of 12 types of tourism support facilities in Jerukleueut Village, with culinary facilities being the most dominant, totaling 60 points. The findings show that the spatial distribution of these facilities tends to be clustered, as reflected by the Nearest Neighbor Ratio (NNR) value of 0.46424. These facilities are generally concentrated in strategic areas with easy access to major tourist attractions and main roads leading to those sites.

Abstract

Stunting among toddlers is a public health issue strongly related to socioeconomic conditions and the distribution of healthcare services. This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution of stunting cases in Cirebon City using a spatial analysis approach. Data were obtained from the Cirebon City Statistics Agency and processed using mapping software to identify whether spatial clustering of cases exists. The results show that stunting cases form clusters, particularly in Harjamukti District, which also has a high number of poor residents and birth rates. These findings indicate that the distribution of stunting is not random but concentrated in specific areas. The study recommends identifying priority intervention zones and ensuring the equitable distribution of health personnel, especially nutritionists, as a crucial step toward area-based stunting reduction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of Escherichia coli (E. Coli) contamination in groundwater in Bidara Cina Sub-district East Jakarta an area characterize by high population density and frequent flooding. The research employs a quantitative descriptive method utilizing Landsat 8 satellite imagery and the Normalized Difference Built-up Index (NDBI) to assess building density alongside laboratory testing of 22 groundwater samples. The findings reveal that five samples were contaminated with Escherichia coli (E. Coli) with the highest concentration reaching 18,2/100 ml in RT 02 RW 07 – an area located very close to the Ci Liwung River and marked by extremely dense housing. Contributing factors to the contamination include recurrent flooding, poor sanitation, and domestic wastewater discharge into the river. Although located farther from the river, RW 16 also exhibited contamination due to unsanitary condition in the public housing complex. All contaminated samples exceeded the quality threshold ser by the Indonesian Ministry of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. These results highlight the urgent need for strengthened groundwater quality monitoring and the provision of safe altenative water sources for affected communities.

Abstract

The number of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in Bandung City increased significantly in 2024, reaching 7,146 cases (four times higher than in 2023). The increase in DHF cases in an area is influenced by various factors, including geographic, sociodemographic, and environmental conditions. DHF cases is also influenced by the ecological conditions of the surrounding area, so it is necessary to consider the neighborhood features in the analysis of DHF case in a certain location. This study aims to build spatial modelling of DHF cases in Bandung City using Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR). GWR modeling works based on the local relationship between the independent variable (X) and the dependent variable (Y) and considers its surrounding area. The independent variables used in this study include elevation (X1), the number of children aged 5-14 years (X2), population density (X3), percentage of built-up area (X4), and road density (X5). Meanwhile, the dependent variable used is the number of DHF cases in Bandung City from January to April 2024. The GWR prediction results indicate that DHF cases are concentrated in the northern and southeastern regions of Bandung, with a global R² value of 0.778 (indicating that 77.8% of the variance is explained by the model). The variables that play a significant role in the GWR model of DHF cases in this study are altitude and the number of residents aged 5-14 years.

Abstract

Bengkong District, Batam City has experienced significant land cover changes from semi-forest areas to dense settlements. Rapid urbanization has led to high fragmentation of forest cover, reducing the area of natural infiltration and increasing surface runoff. This phenomenon raises concerns about the decrease in water storage potential that is crucial for community needs. This study aims to understand the impact of deforestation on the area of water infiltration in the region. The methods used include field surveys, questionnaires, documentation, and spatial analysis. Analysis was conducted through supervised classification and overlay techniques of land cover maps from 2013, 2018, and 2023 to identify changes in land use and the extent of deforestation. The results indicate that over a decade, 178.02 hectares or 82.84% of the forest has been converted, primarily into built-up land (148.71 ha) and open land (29.31 ha). The majority of conversion occurs in areas with high infiltration capacity. As a result, runoff increases by 54.90 mm (59.58%) and the potential water storage decreases by up to 55.19 mm (50.7%).
