Abstract

This study investigates students' perceptions at Universitas Advent Indonesia regarding using online games to improve their English vocabulary. The research employs a quantitative design with purposive sampling, involving 120 students across different academic levels. A Likert-scale questionnaire was used to assess students' views on the effectiveness of online games as a learning tool. Results indicate that most students find online games an engaging and effective medium for vocabulary acquisition, mainly due to their interactive and immersive features. Both male and female students and students from all class levels consistently view online games as beneficial for enhancing their vocabulary. The findings suggest that online games can supplement traditional language learning methods, providing an enjoyable and motivational environment for vocabulary development. Future research could explore the comparative effectiveness of various online games and alternative learning strategies.

Abstract

The role of teachers in protecting children from exploitation and violence in the school environment is very important to create a safe atmosphere for students. The presence of responsive and caring teachers can prevent acts of violence and provide the emotional support that children need in the learning process. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the protection provided by teachers and identify the challenges faced in this process. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews and document analysis. The research results show that teachers at SDIT Kasih Ibu have carried out their role well in supervising and communicating with students, but supervision outside the classroom still needs to be improved. Only 70% of teachers actively supervise students during recess and extracurricular activities, and 60% of teachers feel they have received insufficient training in handling cases of violence. Apart from that, only 50% of case reports receive clear follow-up from the school. The implications of this research indicate the need to increase training for teachers and strengthen reporting systems to create a safer school environment. It is hoped that this research can become a reference for policy makers in designing more effective and comprehensive student protection programs in the future.

Abstract

Pancasila economics is an economic system that places social justice, humanity and shared prosperity as the main foundation in regulating economic activities. This article aims to analyze the concept of Pancasila Economics and how its application can be integrated into economic learning in Indonesia. This research uses a descriptive-analytical method with a qualitative approach, focusing on secondary data sources in the form of journal articles, books and official documents. The research results show that integrating Pancasila values ​​in economic education can strengthen students' character in cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. Learning that is oriented towards Pancasila values ​​helps form a generation that is not only technically competent, but also has moral responsibility in facing global economic challenges. It is hoped that the integration of Pancasila Economics in the economic curriculum in schools and universities will be able to create a more inclusive, just and sustainable economic system in the future

Abstract

Religious moderation is an essential aspect of fostering harmony and tolerance in a pluralistic society, especially in a school environment composed of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. Extracurricular activities not only strengthen social bonds among students but also instill values of moderation that support the creation of an inclusive and tolerant educational environment. Schools can maximize the potential of extracurricular activities as a medium for strengthening religious moderation, which in turn will support educational efforts to shape a generation with a moderate outlook on religion. The aims of this study are to identify (1) the role of strengthening religious moderation at SMAN 4 Palangka Raya, and (2) the implementation of the Pencak Silat extracurricular activities at SMAN 4 Palangka Raya. This study employs a qualitative research method presented descriptively. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation, while data validation techniques utilize source triangulation and technique triangulation. Data analysis techniques involve data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results are (1) the role of strengthening religious moderation at SMAN 4 Palangka Raya, and (2) the implementation of Pencak Silat extracurricular activities at SMAN 4 Palangka Raya.

Abstract

Currently, the administrative procedures for tax collection at the SAMSAT office, most people do not know the mechanism for tax collection carried out by officers. So based on this, the author is interested in researching "The mechanism for paying Motor Vehicle Tax at the One-Stop Manunggal Administration System office, Kuantan Singingi Regency." The type of research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection techniques that the author uses in this research are observation and interviews. Motor vehicle tax is a mandatory contribution that can be imposed on every taxpayer for the objects they own. The aim of this research is to analyze the motor vehicle tax mechanism. The problem with this research is that they don't want to queue for a long time and many people still make payments through other people. It is hoped that the vehicle tax payment mechanism at the Kuantan Singingi Regency One-Stop Single-Stop Administration unit office will remain in accordance with the Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5 of 2015 concerning the implementation of the One-Stop Single-Stop Administration System for Motor Vehicles. The data collection method is carried out by means of a questionnaire and documentation. Based on the results of research carried out by researchers, the results were obtained in the quite good category, with an average score of 3.37%.

Abstract

This study compares Western Islam and Eastern Islam within the context of universal and local civilizations. Western Islam, which developed in Europe and America, tends to adapt to modern values and cultural pluralism, while Eastern Islam focuses more on preserving traditions and spiritual values. The aim of this research is to explore the differences and similarities between these two forms of Islamic civilization and their contributions to global civilization. Using a qualitative approach with a literature review design, this study analyzes texts from books, journals, and writings by Islamic scholars from both sides. The findings show that although there are differences in their approaches to modernity, both forms of Islam share common foundational values that can enrich Islamic civilization as a whole. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of collaboration between Western and Eastern Islam to address globalization challenges and create an inclusive and sustainable civilization.

Abstract

Elementary education apparently requires innovation to improve the quality of its learning. Considering that we have now entered the modern era, where students are increasingly modern. They are more interested in real things, not just material things. And considering that it is now easy to access information from cyberspace where elementary school children can easily access it. Project Based Learning, it aims to develop the skills of elementary school students. This innovation focuses on developing projects when learning is designed to stimulate student creativity and foster collaborative attitudes among them. With this step, students not only improve their academic skills, but can also improve social skills that affect their attitudes when learning. This study collaborates with the implementation of the project-based learning (PjBL) model, focusing on evaluation and its impact on students' creative and collaborative skills. The evaluation method of this research was carried out through a case study at SDI As-Syafi'ah using project assessments, and interviews with teachers. The results of the research findings found a significant increase in the level of student creativity, as well as the development of their ability to work effectively in groups. The basic concept of innovation in teaching and learning activities is expected to encourage students' ability to explore interests, ideas or concepts, creative solutions, and to work together in teams. The real impact can open up discussions about the use of modified and appropriate models in the elementary school curriculum to further improve students' abilities in facing the demands of the times and contribute or play a role in the effectiveness of project-based learning resource innovation to improve creative and collaborative skills at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The problem studied in this research is, what is the role of guidance and counseling teachers in motivating class VII students at MTS Yati Kamang Mudik. The aim of this research is to determine the role of guidance and counseling teachers in motivating class VII students at MTs Yati Kamang Mudiak through the Independent Learning Curriculum. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques by means of observation and interviews. Data analysis techniques using Miles and Huberman theory were used, namely data presentation, drawing conclusions, and data reduction. With interviews and observations, the data obtained is more clearly accurate. Based on the results of research, there is a lack of motivation in class VII students at MTS Yati Kamang Mudik. The informants in this study consisted of 1 core informant, 10 supporting informants, so the total number of informants was 11 people. From the research results, it was found that the role of guidance and counseling teachers in motivating students in Class VII MTs Yati Kamang Mudiak through the Independent Learning Curriculum is by reprimanding, advising and ordering students to enter the class. The Role of Guidance and Guidance Teachers in Motivating Class VII Students of MTs Yati Kamang Mudiak Through the Independent Learning Curriculum, namely:. 1). Improving student learning achievement. 2). Help solve problems faced by students. 3). Helps identify and improve students' abilities. 4) as a mediator. 5). Give students motivation to learn. 7). Provide assistance to other teachers.

Abstract

School-Based Management (SBM) is an approach that provides autonomy to Vocational High Schools (SMK) to manage resources independently and accountably. This article aims to examine the implementation of SBM in the leadership of SMK principals, focusing on supporting factors, challenges, and success strategies. The method used is a literature review, namely analyzing various studies and related literature. The results show that the success of SBM in SMK is influenced by the leadership competence of the principal, stakeholder participation, and support for educational policies. Principals with a transformational leadership style have been shown to be more effective in managing teams, encouraging innovation, and creating a collaborative culture in the SMK environment. However, challenges such as lack of training, limited funds, and resistance to change are still major obstacles. To overcome these challenges, it is necessary to strengthen regulations, continuous training, and increase the involvement of the community and the business world and industry (DUDI) in the decision-making process. This article provides important insights for the development of SBM-based education policies and practices in SMK to support improving the quality of graduates who are ready to work, continue their studies, or become entrepreneurs.

Abstract

Abstract The PT Sunter Lakeside Hotel is a company that operates Sunlake Hotel, a five-star hotel established in 1995. In the face of hospitality industry dynamics and economic fluctuations, financial performance becomes a crucial aspect to ensure business sustainability. Financial analysis is needed to evaluate company health and support strategic decision making. With this research, it aims to evaluate the financial performance of PT Sunter Lakeside Hotel using horizontal and vertical analysis of financial statements for the 2021-2023 period. The data used is secondary data in the form of published financial statements. Descriptive quantitative methods are used to analyze the company's financial trends and structure. The horizontal analysis shows a significant recovery in financial performance in 2023, with a 31.27% increase in revenue and a reversal from a loss to a net profit of IDR2.9 billion. However, there are challenges such as decreased liquidity and fluctuations in receivables. Vertical analysis indicates a shift in focus to long-term investments with an increase in the proportion of non-current assets to 88.98% in 2023, despite a decline in current assets. Short-term liabilities increased sharply, while long-term liabilities decreased, indicating efficient management of liabilities. In conclusion, the company has shown a positive recovery trend, but needs to focus on cash and liability management to maintain financial stability. Keywords: Horizontal Analysis; Vertical Analysis; Financial Performance; Financial Statements Abstrak PT Sunter Lakeside Hotel adalah perusahaan yang mengoperasikan Sunlake Hotel, sebuah hotel bintang lima yang berdiri sejak 1995. Dalam menghadapi dinamika industri perhotelan dan fluktuasi ekonomi, kinerja keuangan menjadi aspek krusial untuk memastikan keberlanjutan bisnis. Analisis keuangan diperlukan untuk mengevaluasi kesehatan perusahaan dan mendukung pengambilan keputusan strategis. Dengan adanya penelitian ini, bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja keuangan PT Sunter Lakeside Hotel menggunakan analisis horizontal dan vertikal terhadap laporan keuangan periode 2021–2023. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder berupa laporan keuangan yang dipublikasikan. Metode kuantitatif deskriptif digunakan untuk menganalisis tren dan struktur keuangan perusahaan. Analisis horizontal menunjukkan adanya pemulihan signifikan pada kinerja keuangan di 2023, dengan peningkatan pendapatan sebesar 31,27% dan pembalikan dari kerugian menjadi laba bersih Rp2,89 miliar. Namun, terdapat tantangan seperti penurunan likuiditas dan fluktuasi piutang. Analisis vertikal mengindikasikan pergeseran fokus ke investasi jangka panjang dengan peningkatan proporsi aset tidak lancar hingga 88,98% di 2023, meskipun aset lancar menurun. Liabilitas jangka pendek meningkat tajam, sedangkan liabilitas jangka panjang berkurang, menunjukkan efisiensi pengelolaan kewajiban. Kesimpulannya, perusahaan telah menunjukkan tren pemulihan yang positif, tetapi perlu fokus pada pengelolaan kas dan kewajiban untuk menjaga stabilitas keuangan.
