Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on critical thinking skills in the IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies) subject for Class IV at SDN Mojosongo 3 Surakarta during the 2023/2024 academic year. This research was conducted at SDN Mojosongo 3 Surakarta using qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this research were the school principal, class V teacher, 6 class IV students. Data collection techniques in this research are through observation, interviews, documentation. This research uses the CIPP evaluation method. The CIPP model is an abbreviation for context evaluation, input evaluation, process evaluation, and product evaluation. The CIPP evaluation model is an evaluation approach that is oriented towards decision makers (decision centric evaluation structured approach) to provide assistance to administrators or decision making leaders. The conclusion from the observation results shows that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning in class IV at SDN Mojosongo 3 Surakarta has a positive and significant influence on students' critical thinking abilities. Through the application of this model, students are able to demonstrate increased abilities at several stages of critical thinking, namely interpretation, analysis, drawing conclusions, explanation, reflection and self-regulation.

Abstract

In developing the self-confidence of children with autism, the role of parents is crucial. It involves not only providing love and support but also demonstrating perseverance in accompanying and motivating them. This research aims to strengthen the self-confidence of children with autism, focusing on the often disrupted aspects of communication and socialization. Through their roles as guides, facilitators, and motivators, parents can help these children achieve better mental balance, particularly in enhancing self-confidence. The research method employed is qualitative, utilizing the literature study method. A literature study involves activities related to collecting literature data, reading and taking notes, as well as managing research materials. The data collection technique used is theoretical review, gathering information from books, websites, journals, scholarly works, and other sources.The results of the research indicate that the role of parents as guides, facilitators, and motivators is highly significant. They can create a supportive environment for children with autism, reinforcing their self-confidence through positive interactions and sustained encouragement. However, parents also face internal and external challenges that can affect the development of self-confidence in children with autism.

Abstract

Dengan bertambahnya kunjungan wisatawan asal Jepang, hotel-hotel berusaha untuk meningkatkan pelayanan untuk tamu asal jepang, salah satunya merekrut karyawan yang memiliki skill bahasa Jepang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi tuturan bahasa Jepang apa saja yang terjadi di Hotel tempat mahasiswa magang Politeknik Pajajaran ICB berada dan materi bahasa Jepang apa saja yang dapat digunakan oleh mahasiswa magang di Hotel. Metode penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket dan wawancara. Responden angket terdiri dari 68 mahasiswa Politeknik Pajajaran ICB yang sudah melakukan magang di hotel Bandung, sedangkan wawancara dilakukan kepada 7 responden yang pernah magang dan berkomunikasi langsung dengan tamu asal Jepang. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tuturan yang paling banyak digunakan ialah tuturan bertanya> menjawab atau tidak menjawab. Materi bahasa Jepang yang dapat digunakan diantaranya adalah greetings, tipe kamar, menu, restoran & pariwisata di sekitar Hotel, laundry, pemesanan taxi, check in dan melayani complaint tamu.

Abstract

Discipline, self-confidence, and honesty are three important qualities that play a role in individual success in various areas of life. Often one of the factors that influences these three characteristics is gender. Gender, as a social and biological construct, plays an important role in shaping individual behavior, attitudes, and beliefs. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of gender on the level of discipline, self-confidence, and accuracy in students. This study used quantitative research with data analysis techniques, namely logistic regression analysis with 105 samples, namely students in Denpasar City. The results of this study can be seen from the significance value, the first model can be stated as a model that can be used, namely gender can affect the level of discipline while the second and third models can be stated as gender cannot affect the level of self-confidence and honesty. Furthermore, the chance of a female student having a tendency towards discipline is 3.228 times greater than that of a male student.

Abstract

This study explains the use of Canva media in Indonesian language lessons on biographical texts. The aim of this study is to describe the use of Canva learning media and the response of students to Canva media. The data collection technique used by the researcher is observation with questionnaire collection. This is a qualitative study. Canva is an interactive media that can be utilized by educators in presenting materials. Not only educators, but students can also use this interactive media.

Abstract

Flash floods occurred on August 13, 2019, hitting Namo Village, Kulawi Sub-district, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, causing many losses, such as washed away houses and breaking the Palu-Kulawi access road. The flash flood was caused by high rainfall with a duration of 3 hours, bringing landslide material in the form of rocks and wood from upstream. To overcome this result, the construction of sediment control structures consisting of sabo dams, box culvert bridges, groundsills, and channel work in the form of concrete embankments was carried out. This study aims to compare the effectiveness of sediment control buildings against existing conditions and after the implementation of development by simulating sediment transport with 2D HEC-RAS. With the Wilcock and Crowe transport equation, the results show that with a 100-year return period flood discharge (Q100), the existing conditions in the area affected by the sediment control building are dominated by erosion, while in the downstream area, sedimentation is dominated. After handling, the simulation results show that in the area affected by the building, there is an increase in erosion of 48,948.98 m3 or a decrease in building effectiveness of 79.34%. Meanwhile, the downstream area experienced an increase in sedimentation of 92,906.02 m3 or an increase in effectiveness of 189.94%. Based on this simulation, there is still a need for handling to reduce the level of erosion in the upstream area by adding a control building.

Abstract

Currently, the world is entering the era of Society 5.0, which will impact student learning due to the proliferation of technology that facilitates easy access to learning materials. If teachers rely solely on lecture methods, students may become bored and less active in the learning process. One suitable instructional model for this era is project-based learning. This approach teaches students to engage in practical activities and take responsibility for specific tasks, providing them with direct experience rather than just theoretical knowledge. The purpose of this study is to explain the impact of implementing project-based learning combined with differentiated instruction on student learning outcomes. The research method used is classroom action research, divided into two cycles. The stages include initial planning, followed by action, observation, and finally, reflection. The results of this study indicate that the application of the project-based learning model, coupled with differentiated instruction, is effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The research carried out aims to see trends in ethnopedagogical research in Papua that is integrated with local Papuan culture. Classified as Rivew's systematic research, known as Systematic Literature Review (SRL). The article screening process is adjusted to the inclusion criteria according to the research topic which can be used as primary data and secondary data. Next, the data analysis and triangulation process was carried out by paying attention to each component that was used as the basis for the inclusion criteria. The results of the research show that there are various derivations for each component assessed which are spread starting from journal indexers and adjusted to the derivation of learning materials and can be integrated with every aspect and component of local Papuan culture which is oriented towards research trends in the learning process in the Papua region. Based on the findings obtained, it can be concluded that the ethnopedagogical trend is closely related to the development of a learning process that is in accordance with Papuan culture and local wisdom through critical components of inclusion so that through an ethnopedagogical approach it can create a meaningful learning process and have a cooperative learning process orientation.

Abstract

Education based on religious values ​​is very important in forming students' character. In this context, the use of Islamic educational games as a basic mathematics learning method in elementary schools has great potential to increase students' understanding, while instilling Islamic values. The aim of this research is to explore the impact of using Islamic educational games in helping students understand basic mathematical concepts at SDIT Kasih Ibu. This research uses a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest experimental design. Data was collected through pretest and posttest to measure students' mathematical understanding, observations during learning, as well as interviews with teachers and students. The research subjects were 30 fourth grade students who took part in mathematics learning using Islamic educational games. The research results showed a significant increase in understanding basic mathematics after using Islamic educational games. The students' average score on the posttest increased 20 points compared to the pretest. Additionally, students demonstrated higher engagement and increased motivation during learning. This game also supports student character development by integrating Islamic values ​​such as honesty and discipline. Implications: This research suggests that Islamic educational games should be integrated more widely in basic mathematics learning as an effective alternative for improving students' academic understanding and character building in religious-based elementary schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh manajemen kelas terhadap motivasi belajar siswa dalam konteks pendidikan Islam. Manajemen kelas yang efektif tidak hanya menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, tetapi juga memainkan peran penting dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode survei, penelitian ini melibatkan 200 siswa dari Madrasah Aliyah Kejuruan Plus Roudhotul Muhibbin Bekasi di Kabupaten Bekasi, yang dipilih melalui stratified random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan Skala Manajemen Kelas dan Skala Motivasi Belajar, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Hasil menunjukkan pengaruh positif dan signifikan dari manajemen kelas terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Aspek yang paling berpengaruh dalam manajemen kelas adalah organisasi siswa dan pengelolaan pembelajaran. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya peran guru dalam mengelola kelas secara efektif, dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Islam, untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menyoroti perlunya meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam manajemen kelas yang sejalan dengan prinsip-prinsip pendidikan Islam.
