Abstract

Smoking is one of the leading risk factors for various chronic diseases. Although many smokers successfully quit, the urge to smoke again (craving) remains a major cause of relapse. This study aims to develop an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Based Adaptive Lifestyle Recommendation System to assist former smokers in managing and reducing craving levels. The proposed system utilizes the Random Forest algorithm to predict craving levels based on several factors, including mood, time of day, daily activities, coffee consumption, and sleep duration. The AI model is trained and evaluated using a prepared dataset, with performance measured using Mean Squared Error (MSE). Prediction results are then used to generate adaptive lifestyle recommendations tailored to the user's craving risk level. The system is implemented as a mobile application integrated with a backend API service. The research methodology consists of requirements analysis, AI model and system design, application development, limited user testing, and system evaluation. The expected outputs include a craving prediction model, an AI-based adaptive recommendation application, and scientific publications. This research is expected to provide an innovative digital solution that supports former smokers in maintaining a smoke-free lifestyle and reducing the risk of relapse.

Abstract

This research analyzes the regulation, legal obligations and juridical implications of implementing informed consent in bronchoscopy procedures following the enactment of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health. As an invasive procedure in pulmonology, bronchoscopy carries significant inherent risks of complications, thus demanding the fulfillment of patient’s rights to comprehensive information as a condition for the legality of medical action. This normative legal research employs statutory and case approaches, utilizing primary, secondary and tertiary legal materials analyzed through qualitative descriptive methods. The results indicate that the 2023 Health Law strengthens informed consent as a two-way legal protection instrument, where Article 274 regulates patient’s rights to complete information and Article 293 provides administrative sanctions for violations. The legal obligations of medical personnel include providing evidence-based information, effective and documented communication and performing procedures according to professional standards and operational procedures. The juridical implications of non-compliance with informed consent are multi-layered, encompassing civil liability, disciplinary and ethical sanctions by the Indonesian Medical Disciplinary Honorary Council(MDHC) and potential criminal liability as an ultimum remedium. This research concludes that informed consent is not merely an administrative formality but the foundation of legality for bronchoscopy procedures, integrating clinical, ethical and juridical aspects. It is recommended to enhance the substantive communication process, specify documentation and strengthen clinical governance systems and medical law training in healthcare facilities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between speaking anxiety and English learning outcomes among third-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 05 Medan. Speaking anxiety is assumed to be one of the affective factors that may hinder students’ language performance, even when they have cognitively understood the learning material. This study employs a quantitative approach using a correlational research design. Data are collected through a speaking anxiety questionnaire and documentation of students’ English learning scores, and are subsequently analyzed using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. The findings of this study are expected to provide empirical evidence regarding the contribution of psychological factors to English learning achievement among elementary school students. In addition, the results may serve as a reference for teachers in designing English learning activities that are more affectively supportive and responsive to students’ emotional needs.

Abstract

West Aceh Regency is one of the regions in Aceh Province that faces quite complex poverty challenges. Although this region has abundant natural resources and agricultural potential, its utilization has not been optimal in improving the welfare of the community. The Aceh Province Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the percentage of poor people in West Aceh was 17.60%, still above the national average of 9.36% (BPS Aceh, 2024). This means that out of every 100 residents in West Aceh, approximately 18 people still live below the poverty line. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of economic growth, unemployment rates, and education on poverty in West Aceh in 2014-2024. Based on the results of the research that has been conducted, the results showed that economic growth has no significant and positive effect on poverty in West Aceh Regency. The unemployment rate has no significant and positive effect on poverty in West Aceh Regency. The level of education has a significant and positive effect on poverty in West Aceh Regency. The West Aceh Regency government, as policymakers, is expected to prioritize sectors capable of reducing poverty by improving the quality of education and raising public awareness of its importance.

Abstract

Education is one of the most important factors in developing quality human resources. In realizing quality education, one of the main aspects that needs to be considered is teacher performance. Teacher performance can be influenced by work discipline, organizational culture and work motivation. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze 1) The effect of work discipline on teacher performance in Private Elementary Schools in North Jakarta. 2) The effect of organizational culture on teacher performance in Private Elementary Schools in North Jakarta. 3) The effect of work motivation on teacher performance in Private Elementary Schools in North Jakarta. 4) The effect of work discipline, organizational culture and work motivation simultaneously on teacher performance in Private Elementary Schools in North Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 61 teachers of Private Elementary Schools in North Jakarta Branch with a saturated sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression tests to see the partial and simultaneous effects of independent variables on the dependent variable. The results of the study show that 1) work discipline has a partial significant influence on the performance of teachers at the North Jakarta Branch of Private Elementary Schools, 2) organizational culture does not have a partial significant influence on the performance of teachers at the North Jakarta Branch of Private Elementary Schools, 3) work motivation does not have a partial significant influence on the performance of teachers at the North Jakarta Branch of Private Elementary Schools, 4) simultaneously, the variables of work discipline, organizational culture, and work motivation simultaneously have a significant influence on the performance of teachers at the North Jakarta Branch of Private Elementary Schools.

Abstract

The increasingly competitive competition among elementary schools has encouraged schools to develop effective marketing strategies. The development of digital marketing, word of mouth, and school image has become important factors considered by parents when selecting a school for their children. The fluctuation in the number of new students at AG Elementary School, Bekasi indicates the need to examine the influence of the analyze the influence of digital marketing, word of mouth, and school image on parent’s school selection decisions. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital marketing, word of mouth, and school image on parent’s decisions to choose AG Elementary School, Bekasi. This research employed a quantitative approach using survey method involving 64 parents of newly enrolled students selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. The results indicated that digital marketing has no significant effect on parent’s school selection decisions, while word of mouth and brand image have a positive and significant effect on parent’s school selection decisions. Simulataneously, the three independent variables have significant effect on parent’s decisions to choose AG Elementary School.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Canva-based learning medium on the demand and supply topic to improve the learning outcomes of tenth-grade students at SMAN 10 Medan and to examine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This research and development study used the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The sample consisted of two classes selected through purposive sampling, an experimental class taught using the Canva-based medium and a control class taught using the printed textbook. Data were collected through validation questionnaires, student and teacher response questionnaires, and a multiple-choice achievement test administered as a pretest and posttest. The results showed that the medium was rated valid by media experts (84%), material experts (93%), and instructional design experts (90%). The practicality questionnaires showed very practical results from teachers (94%) and students (89%). Prerequisite tests indicated normally distributed and homogeneous data, and the t-test showed a significant difference between the two classes (sig. 0.000 < 0.05). The N-Gain score of the experimental class (0.63) was higher than that of the control class (0.43). It is concluded that the developed Canva-based learning medium is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' learning outcomes on the demand and supply topic.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Location, Tuition Fees, and Facilities on students' enrollment decisions at SMA TA, Tangerang. The research is motivated by the intense competition among private schools in Tangerang, particularly in the Karawaci and surrounding areas. Therefore, understanding the factors that influence students' decisions is crucial for efforts to increase student enrollment and improve the quality of educational services. This study employs a quantitative approach with a survey method. The sample consists of 150 tenth-grade students at SMA TA, Tangerang for the 2025/2026 academic year, selected using a proportional random sampling technique. Data collection was conducted via questionnaires utilizing a Likert scale, and the data were subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that location, tuition fees, and facilities simultaneously exert a positive and significant influence on students' enrollment decisions at SMA TA, Tangerang. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.552 demonstrates that 55.2% of the variance in the Enrollment Decision can be explained by the Location, Tuition Fees, and Facilities variables within the regression model, while the remaining variance is accounted for by other variables outside the scope of this study. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to academic development and serve as a reference for educational institutions to enhance their competitiveness and the quality of educational services provided to the community.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of internship experience, work interest, soft skills, and work motivation on the job readiness of students in the Department of Informatics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Toraja Christian University of Indonesia, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative approach was employed using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to 2023 cohort students who had completed their internship program. The study involved 50 respondents selected using the Slovin formula and purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS version 26, preceded by validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results indicate that internship experience, work interest, soft skills, and work motivation each have a positive and significant effect on students' job readiness, with significance values below 0.05. Simultaneously, the four variables also have a positive and significant effect on job readiness, as indicated by an F-value of 25.750 and a significance level of 0.000. The coefficient of determination of 69.6% indicates that students' job readiness is explained by internship experience, work interest, soft skills, and work motivation, while the remaining 30.4% is influenced by other factors outside the research model. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening internship programs and developing both technical and non-technical competencies to enhance graduates' readiness for the increasingly competitive labor market.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether Competence and Job Satisfaction influence Employee Performance at PT. Malea Energy, Tana Toraja Regency. Data collection procedures included observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The quantitative method used in this study was Multiple Linear Regression, processed using SPSS. This study was conducted on PT. Malea Energy employees in Tana Toraja Regency, with a sample size of 60 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive  sampling. The results of the t-test for the Competence variable showed a calculated t-count > t-table with a value of 5,294 > 2.002, and for the Job Satisfaction variable, a calculated t-count > t-table with a value of 5,960 > 2.002. The conclusion of this study is that Competence and Job Satisfaction influence Employee Performance at PT. Malea Energy, Tana Toraja Regency.
