Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that character education is the core of education throughout the world. In 2016, the Indonesian government's policy on strengthening character education was established. The hope is that in 2045 a golden generation will be born, so that it needs to be equipped with 21st century skills. The research method used to uncover this problem is through a qualitative approach, because qualitative research aims to understand the meaning or explore certain phenomena, events, facts, realities, or problems related to social and human aspects in depth. The type of research used in this study is a literature study. The results of the study show that there are three policies related to strengthening character education, namely Presidential Regulation number 87 concerning strengthening character education in 2017, Minister of Education and Culture Regulation number 20 regarding strengthening character education in 2018 and the profile of Pancasila students in 2020. Second, the bright next generation in 2045 needs to be prepared with 21st century skills. The response to world changes and the post-pandemic era begins with changes in character education as the main goal in preparing for the golden generation. The transformation of national education in Indonesia aims to provide responses and solutions to new challenges, demands and needs that arise as a result of various current situations. This confirms that the arrangement or transformation of Indonesia's national education is a very important historical task and must be carried out in earnest."

Abstract

Arabic is a foreign language which is a compulsory subject in Madrasas, therefore learning Arabic is a superior program in madrasas which differentiates it from other public schools. Arabic language learning in Indonesia in particular is currently experiencing an increase, various innovations are starting to be made, one of which is developing teaching materials according to the needs of madrasa students. Developing teaching materials seems to be something that teachers must do in order to attract students' interest in learning Arabic. Some textbooks that are often used by schools are basically textbooks that originate from the Middle East. Even though there has been textbook development carried out by Arabic language teachers and developers, there are still very few who pay attention to students' needs in learning Arabic. The research will begin with coordination and interviews with the school principal to find out Arabic language learning achievements, who will then conduct interviews with teachers and students regarding their tendencies to learn Arabic, students' backgrounds and observations of the Arabic language learning tools used. Next, carry out a needs analysis as a basic material for developing Arabic teaching materials for Madrasah Al Birru Ponorogo students. The output of the research is in the form of scientific articles which will be published in reputable journals in the field of Arabic language education such as Al-Bayan, and so on.

Abstract

Strengthening national character is vital to the quality of a generation. The government needs to establish character education policies that are relevant to be put into practice today. The independent curriculum offers a simpler and more ideal educational concept that places teachers and students as subjects in learning activities. This research aimed to study whether the independent curriculum facilitates the strengthening national character, and to what extent. This research was conducted using the library method through a qualitative approach, with the data analysis done by means of content analysis techniques. Research findings show that the character strengthening strategy in the Merdeka curriculum is contained in the Pancasila Student Profile concept with a series of curriculum policies including the educational ecosystem, teachers, pedagogy, curriculum and assessment systems. Strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile is actualized in students' daily lives through school culture, intracurricular learning, Project for Strengthening Pancasila Student Profiles (P5), and interest and talent development activities (extracurricular). Meanwhile, the values contained in the Pancasila Student Profile include faith and devotion to God Almighty, noble character, global diversity, mutual cooperation, independence, critical reasoning and creativity.

Abstract

In this modern era, society is at a pivotal juncture regarding how its personality develops. There are a significant number of researchers, academics, and figures who advocate for character-based education. Many arguments have been made that cultivating moral character is the only way to progress as a nation. Islamic scholars have established a paradigm for character education throughout the lengthy history of Islamic traditions. This article sheds light on the character education model in Islamic tradition and heritage. This model is best demonstrated by the growth of Hayy ibn Yaqdzan in the story written by Ibn Tufayl. This study is qualitative library research in education. The primary and secondary data are referred to in books, articles, and other publications. The collected data are analyzed using descriptive analysis. This research uncovers, first, character education in Hayy ibn Yaqdzan's story following the Qur'an and Hadith. Second, the characters in the story of Hayy ibn Yaqdzan are developed through purifying the soul and a deep love for the pursuit of knowledge. In the third place, a good character will be more driven by a deep passion for being close to the Creator.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of internal quality assurance system (IQAS) in schools before and after the COVID-19 pandemic that highlight its effectiveness, challenges and implications, using a qualitative approach with a case study design. The data was obtained through FGD, interviews, observations, and document studies and analyzed using qualitative-interactive analysis. The source of data was the IQAS team in the 8 schools studied. The findings show the implementation of internal quality assurance system (IQAS) before the COVID-19 pandemic ran quite effectively, although not all school members had the same understanding of the IQAS. However, after the COVID-19 pandemic, schools experienced many obstacles in adapting all school programs, both academic and non-academic, to emergency conditions. Because schools are required to switch to new patterns and learning processes very quickly, the implementation of IQAS cannot take place normally. The very significant change due to the COVID-19 Pandemic certainly raises many challenges faced by all schools to ensure that the learning process can continue even in very emergency conditions. One of the effective efforts made by schools is to strengthen cooperation through involving the community and parents to jointly participate actively in the implementation of learning during the COVID-19 period so that these challenges can be overcome in stages. The implication of implementing IQAS for the progress of schools is that parents and the community have more trust in school efforts in providing the best educational services for students and schools can easily solve their problems by implementing IQAS effectively.
