Abstract

Hemodialysis will affect stress levels and sleep quality in chronic kidney failure patients. The longer a patient with chronic kidney failure undergoes hemodialysis therapy, the patient's stress level and sleep quality will worsen. The study aimed to analyze the relationship between the term hemodialysis and the stress level and sleep quality of chronic kidney failure patients at Tk.III Slamet Riyadi Hospital, Surakarta. The research adopted a quantitative descriptive analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique used total sampling with 57 respondents. Data collection methods utilized the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-42) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaires. The statistical test operated the gamma test. The results revealed the relationship between the term hemodialysis and stress levels and sleep quality with a p-value of 0.009 and 0.006. It inferred a relationship between the hemodialysis span, stress levels, and sleep quality. The correlation value between variables is 0.431 and 0.410. The longer the hemodialysis, the higher the stress level and the worse the patient's sleep quality (one blank single space line, 9 point font)

Pneumonia is a respiratory infection that attacks the lungs, the World Health Organisation (WHO) recorded 2.5 million people died from pneumonia. Based on preliminary data collection, in January-June 2022 there were 17 cases and 34 controls, in the Remu Health Centre working area of Sorong City. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk of house building, house lighting, house humidity, house ventilation, and occupancy density on the incidence of pneumonia among under-fives in the Remu Health Centre working area  of Sorong City. This type of research is analytic observation, with a case control design, using the odds ratio (OR) test to determine the magnitude of risk. This study was conducted in the Remu Health Centre working area of Sorong City on 22 September 22 October with a total sample of 51 children under five years old. The results showed that there was a risk, house building (OR=7.538), house lighting (OR=2.417), house humidity (OR=2.531), house ventilation (OR=3.714), occupancy density (OR=3.210), to the incidence of pneumonia. Conclusion House building, house lighting, house humidity, house ventilation area, and occupancy density are risk factors for the incidence of pneumonia among under-fives in the Remu Puskesmas working area of Sorong City.

Abstract

Helichrysum italicum (Hi) essential oil is commonly used in wound healing. Hi is an option for treating acute wounds, especially bleeding wounds. Coconut oil has also long been used for various skin disorders including wound healing and microbial infections. The high amount of antioxidants will be useful against free radicals which are considered the main cause of inflammation during the wound healing process. Hi essential oil was chosen because of its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and wound-healing activities, all of which supported the wound-healing process in the three patients in this case report. The purpose of this case report is to determine the effectiveness of using Hi essential oil in healing wounds. We report 3 patients with wounds treated with topical Hi 10% essential oil in virgin coconut oil (VCO) applied three times daily until healed. All cases showed good wound healing without secondary infection. Despite the irritating side effects in patient 2, all three patients were satisfied with the results. The use of Hi 10% essential oil in VCO has advantages in terms of antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects on wound healing without secondary infection so it needs to be studied further as an alternative therapy option in wound healing

Abstract

Age 0-5 years is the golden age where children need to pay attention to growth and development. The optimal growth and development of toddlers depends on how active the role of the family, especially parents, in stimulating the development of toddlers. Mothers who provide optimal early stimulation, will significantly affect the child's motor development. Health workers also play a role in monitoring the development of toddlers by running an integrated posyandu program by activating family development activities and providing IEC to parents to stimulate the development of their toddlers, namely with classes for mothers of toddlers. This study aims to determine the influence of the toddler mother class on increasing knowledge of stimulation of toddler development aged 1-5 years at the Kanda Health Center, Jayapura Regency. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a pretest posttest design with control group. The sample used was 32 respondents with probability sampling techniques. Statistical test using independent sample t-test. The results showed that there was an influence of the toddler mother class on increasing knowledge of developmental stimulation of toddlers aged 1-5 years at the Kanda Health Center with a p-value of 0.001 < 0.05.  The conclusion of this study showed that there was a difference in knowledge of mothers of toddlers before and after the class of mothers of toddlers with an average of 49.64 to 92.27. This study suggests that health workers and mothers of toddlers take an active part in classes to monitor the development of toddlers

Abstract

Hypertension is a major health problem that can cause complications from various diseases such as heart disease, stroke, kidney failure and other diseases. One effort to lower blood pressure is with bay leaf boiled water therapy. Bay leaves contain flavonoids which function to relax arterial muscles so they can reduce high blood pressure in hypertensive patients. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of bay leaf boiled water therapy on blood pressure in hypertensive patients. The research design used a quasi-experiment with a one group pre-post test design approach, the sample size was 39 people using a purposive sampling technique. The patient drank water boiled with bay leaves ½ glass in the morning and ½ glass before eating for 2 weeks. Blood pressure was measured before and after drinking boiled bay leaves. The results of the research before therapy were carried out, the average systolic blood pressure was 160.67 mmHg and diastolic 93.1 mmHg, after therapy with bay leaf boiled water the average systolic blood pressure was 147.74 mmHg and diastolic 81.72 mmHg. The results of the analysis showed that bay leaf boiled water therapy had an effect on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients at the Menteng Community Health Centers, Palangka Ra (p=0.00)
