Abstract

The KEHATI-listed companies have displayed commendable SRI performance across financial metrics and transactional liquidity. Among these firms, PT Danone Indonesia faced a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) issue in 2012 due to the uneven distribution of benefits, which prompted community protests and undermined the company's efficacy, ultimately impacting its performance. The overarching objective of this study is to explore and comprehend the relationship between CSR, corporate governance, and their potential impact on the performance of ESG QUALITY 45 IDX KEHATI listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The study utilized panel regression analysis to analyze data collected over five years (2017-2021) from IDX. The research implies that there is no substantial relationship between corporate governance and performance. However, the findings evidence implies that there is a strong negative relationship between CSR and ROE, while ROA remains unaffected. In terms of control variables, the study found no significant correlation between firm size and ROA and ROE, while leverage had shown a substantial negative influence on both financial performance measures. This research sheds light on the connection between CSR, corporate governance, and business performance.

Abstract

Recent studies state that the relationship between inflation and economic growth is not linear. When inflation exceeds a certain threshold, it will have a negative impact on economic growth. This study aims to investigate the linear and non-linear relationship between inflation and economic growth in Indonesia using provincial panel data. The linear relationship was tested using a panel regression fixed effect model, while a non-linear relationship was tested using a panel regression threshold fixed effect model. When a linear test is carried out, inflation in Indonesia does not affect economic growth. When conducting a non-linear test, inflation in Indonesia has a positive impact on economic growth only when the value is below 2.11 percent. Meanwhile, when inflation exceeded 2.11 percent, economic growth in Indonesia slowed down. Inflation control policies must still be carried out to reduce the negative effects of inflation because high and fluctuating inflation is not good for the economy.

Abstract

A company with a large amount of debt certainly increases the possibility of financial distress and affects its financial performance. Transportation and logistics are the top three industries with the highest average debt-to-assets ratio. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether financial ratios affect financial distress and whether financial distress mediates the influence between these two variables through a panel analysis method, with a sample of 21 IDX-listed companies from 2017-2021. This analysis shows that CR and DAR significantly negatively impact financial distress, while DER, OCF, and TATO do not considerably affect financial distress. In addition, financial distress does not significantly affect financial performance, nor does not mediate the effect of financial ratios on financial performance.
