Abstract

Caring is the essence of nursing practice. Caring is also an approach to increase a sense of caring for patients. This attitude can help patients achieve improved quality of recovery and health. Caring from the patient's point of view is a humane attitude expected by the patient. Caring is basically a nurse's behavior, so that caring basically depends on the characteristics and motivation of an individual nurse. This study aims to identify the factors that most influence the caring behavior of nurses in the inpatient room. Research methodology: This research is an analytic observational study with a Cross-sectional approach. The samples technique was total population of nurses that is 137 nurses. Three instrument used in this study : characteristic respondent, work motivation, Caring Nurse-Patient Interaction Scale (CNPI-23). Data analysis using Chi Square test, Kendall's Tau-b and Logistic Regression. The results of this study found that nurses' work motivation was the most influencing factor for nurses' caring behavior (p value 0.022).  Nurses with high work motivation voluntarily perform their best efforts and skills when working and do not feel physical or mental pressure. As a result, they can show a sense of caring, empathy, and sensitivity to patients during nursing care. Further recommendation that can be given to hospital management are to pay attention to the creation of a motivational work climate, so that workers have high work motivation at work.

Abstract

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) is a deviant behavior that is not in accordance with the norms in society. Nursing students as prospective nurses will deal with a variety of patients including LGBT patients so it is necessary to have a negative perception of LGBT that does not justify LGBT but does not counter LGBT excessively which triggers the tendency to behave discriminatory towards LGBT. The purpose of this study was to determine the perception of nursing students about LGBT. The research method used was descriptive quantitative with propotionate stratified random sampling technique on a sample of 302 nursing students from 2019 to 2022. The instrument used was the perception of LGBT questionnaire with the validity test value of the calculated r value (0.30-0.67) ≥ r table (0.23) and the reliability test value of the Cronbach Alpha coefficient ≥ 0.632 with the result of 0.819. Data analysis using univariate techniques. The results showed 54.6% of students had a very negative perception and 0.3% were very positive. This means that most respondents view LGBT as a health problems and deviation. It is expected that the faculty and religious organizations on campus can provide a lot of information and adequate materials about LGBT.Keywords: LGBT, Perception, higher Students education

Abstract

Four pillars of efforts to accelerate TB treatment in Indonesia have not been implemented optimally in Kota Wetan Village, resulting in a high incidence of TB and non-compliance among people with TB. This can hamper the TB elimination program in Kota Wetan Village. Based on the results of the assessment, a nursing diagnosis of TB-related community health deficits was obtained related to the program not addressing all community health problems. This study aims to describe the efforts made to realize a TB-free pioneering area in Kota Wetan Village. The method used was a case report with a nursing process approach. The research sample was the community of RW 15 Kota Wetan Village totalling 695 people. There was an increase in the pretest and posttest scores of health education from an average of 76.25 to 91.25 with a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.050). RW cadres can carry out their duties as PMOs well, sputum examination (BTA) has been carried out for 58 people with suspected TB and household contacts with TB sufferers, and the declaration of TB-free RW has been carried out. The final evaluation found that the nursing problem of community health deficit was partially resolved. These interventions can raise community awareness to actively contribute to the success of activities that are being carried out for the common good so as to reduce the negative stigma of TB disease, increase the discovery of new cases of BTA positive TB, and reduce drug withdrawal rates in TB patients. Widespread community education and multisectoral collaboration are needed to accelerate TB elimination. Keywords: Infectious disease, Public Health Services, Tuberculosis

Abstract

Pregnancy and childbirth are physiological processes that influence maternal mortality and morbidity risk factors. Proper mental and physical preparation is essential to prevent pathological conditions that may affect pregnant women. One effective intervention is engaging in physical activity, which positively impacts both the mother and fetus. This literature review aims to examine the relationship between physical activity and the health of pregnant women in physical, psychological, socio-economic, cultural, and environmental aspects. This study employs a literature review methodology using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and MetaAnalyses) approach. Article selection was conducted using the PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) framework, with keywords such as “pregnant women,” “physical activity,” “sports,” “benefits,” and “exercise” in Indonesian and English. The literature search was performed using Sage Journals, Scopus, and Google Scholar for articles published between 2019 and 2024 also free full-text. A total of six relevant studies were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings indicate that physical activity offers significant benefits for pregnant women and fetuses, particularly in improving their quality of life both physically and mentally. Pregnant women in rural areas tend to be more physically active than those in urban areas, and light exercises such as walking or yoga help reduce the body’s burden, enhance sleep quality, alleviate stress, and prevent pregnancy complications. Further longitudinal research and education are necessary to understand the long-term effects of physical activity on pregnant women and to raise awareness of its benefits, especially in urban areas. Keywords: Maternal well-being, Pregnancy, Physical activity
