Abstract

Chemistry lessons are subject matter whose concepts are often found in students' daily lives, but many teachers have not been able to integrate the phenomena of chemistry and the potential of local plants into learning. The purpose of this research is to describe the potential of local plants as content and learning media based on local wisdom. The results of the study show that several types of plants found in the tourist area of Meranti Village can be used as chemistry learning content and media. These plants, namely belimbing wuluh flower, softwood flower and red spinach can be used as natural indicators instead of synthesis indicators for testing acid and alkaline solutions and Sago from sago trees is developed as a learning medium for molecular shape models

Abstract

Based on data from the Ministry of Education and Culture that as many 646.200 schools were closed due to the covid-19. So, Indonesia had to do distance learning. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of distance learning in chemistry learning at Serang Regency State High School. To achieve these objectives, researchers used descriptive methods using quantitative data analysis. Using data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires for teachers and students, interviews, and documentation with a total sample of 120 people. The results showed that the effectiveness of distance learning on the Chemistry Teacher questionnaire in five schools in Serang Regency had a percentage of 86.51% with a very effective category. The effectiveness of distance learning on the questionnaire. Students in five schools in Serang Regency have a percentage of 67.30 in the effective category. This is in accordance with the results of the chemistry scores obtained by students for one semester with an average value of 83 in the high category. So, in general, the disctace learning process for chemistry subjects at Serang Regency State High School has a percentage of 76,9% or runs effectively.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a HOTS evaluation tool for quality BOT telegram-based buffer solution material to be used in learning evaluation activities. This evaluation tool was developed using the Borg & Gall model. This research took place in the even semester of the 2021-2022 academic year at SMAN 7 Soppeng. The subjects in this study were 31 students of class XI MIPA 1 SMAN 7 Soppeng. The research instruments used were expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires and learning outcomes tests. Based on the validation results from material experts and media experts, it shows that the evaluation tool developed is very valid with a percentage of validity, namely 86% in terms of material and 86.88% in terms of media. Then based on the results of the analysis in terms of practicality, it shows that the HOTS evaluation tool developed is practical with a practicality percentage of 73.5%. Thus, the HOTS evaluation tool developed is said to be qualified based on quality criteria which include valid and practical. So, the BOT telegram-based HOTS evaluation tool is feasible to use as a learning evaluation tool on buffer solution material.
