The principle of politeness in the language is based on Leech's theory which consists of (1) the maxim of wisdom, (2) the maxim of generosity, (3) the maxim of praise, (4) the maxim of humility, (5) the maxim of compatibility, and (6) the maxim of sympathy. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. The data collection technique in this research used the Listen Free Libat Cakap (SBLC) technique and the notetaking technique as further research techniques. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that there are violations and fulfillment of politeness principles in this film's dialogue. Most show the fulfillment of the maxims of wisdom and praise, while the maxims of humility and sympathy are often violated. Like any other language in the world, Sundanese also has language devices called vocatives to call addresses by speakers in a conversation. This paper explains the vocative, including the forms, which are the level of speech to show the social relations between speakers and addresses. The method used to collect the data is an observation method. The data analysis used is a distributional method with a sociolinguistic approach. From twenty-six data, there are sixteen people-name vocatives and ten family-relation vocatives. Of the sixteen people-name vocatives, six vocatives are in full-nickname form, namely Giri (1), Gilang (1), Lia (3), and Ani (1); and ten vocatives are in partial-nickname form, namely Lang (2) Nit (2), Tir (4), and Put (4). Meanwhile, ten family-relation vocatives consist of nine partial Sundanese-honorific forms, namely Kang (6), Neng (2), and Ceu (1), and one complete Sundanese-honorific form, namely Si Aa. Furthermore, from sixteen people-name vocatives, thirteen vocatives are used to show respect to others and three others to show familiar code. Abstract

Gedeo is the area where Africa’s largest megalithic stone concentration is found. This research aims to assess the heritage management problems of megalithic sites in Gedeo Zone, Ethiopia, with a focus on the Tutu Fella and Chelba Tututi sites. Methodologically, the study employed primary and secondary sources, which were collected through a literature review, field work, and interviews with local informants. The study shows that the megalithic stones have historical, archaeological, symbolical, artistic and commemorative significances which enable the sites to be major source of tourism development in the area. However, these multifaceted collective past memories are subjected to mismanagement activities that have a negative impact on the preservation of the megalithic stones. These problems are associated with the lack of awareness among the local community about the values and the need for the management of the megalithic stones, the expansion of Christianity and the subsequent socio-cultural changes in the area, the mismanagement of the site’s tourism activity, which is not supported by regular and legal means of collection of tourist entrance fees, the weakness of the local culture and tourism offices to employ protection activities for the sites, and the absence of continuous recording and promotion works on these features. The study also recommends the need for creating public platforms to increase the local community’s awareness of the importance of the sites, continuous recording and promotion, the use of legal frameworks to support heritage management and tourism development in the sites, and recognition of the sites as national heritage.

Abstract

Communication in the world is developing very rapidly, not only limited to voice but data communication. Many techniques have been used to support multimedia services. Radio over Fiber is expected to support communication for long distances. Therefore, a Comparison of Performance Analysis was carried out using optisystem. Radio over Fiber is simulated by radio frequency signals of 10 GHz and 15 GHz. Radio over Fiber technology for long-distance communication is very vulnerable to high BER and attenuation values, so it requires a mature system design and adequate equipment specifications.

Abstract

Preschool age that ranges from three to five years old is considered as a critical period for children’s development in several aspects. This development is highly suggested to be stimulated through activities that can be enjoyed by the children. Starting from this point, this study aims to investigate how Sundanese traditional games can promote the development of children’s cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities that are widely recognized as the three crucial learning domains proposed by Bloom (1956). The study that was conducted in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) in Cikaum Subang employed a descriptive qualitative method. The data of this study were taken from questionnaires that were distributed to 92 PAUD teachers as the participants. The study reveals that about 85% of the participants implemented traditional games as one of the teaching methods in their classes. Based on the analysis, it was found that the various types of traditional games employed by singing, guessing riddles, doing role play, and involving physical activities could promote the development of children’s cognitive, affective, and psychomotor capacities in three main ways. First, they provided children with game activities that could stimulate their thinking, counting, remembering, and solving problems capacity. Second, they helped develop children’s emotional quotient through the values learned and rules implemented in the games. Lastly, they involved physical activities that could improve the children’s strength, durability, flexibility, and balance.
