Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that attacks white blood cells and causes the human immune system to decrease. Tuberculosis in HIV patients is an opportunistic infection that will aggravate the disease infection in patients. Examination of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) in Tuberculosis Patients was carried out at the Kotaraja Health Center. This study was conducted for 1 month starting from May 17, 2019, to June 07, 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine HIV in tuberculosis patients at the Kotaraja Health Center. This type of research is descriptive with a laboratory test approach. The sample used is a serum sample with a diagnosis of HIV. The method used in this examination is the Rapid Test method. The results of HIV testing on tuberculosis patients, sample data obtained from HIV tuberculosis co-infected respondents amounted to 30 HIV respondents who  took  tuberculosis  treatment >6-9 months, negative 6 patients (20%).

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) adalah penyakit kronis yang terjadi ketika pankreas tidak memproduksi cukup insulin atau ketika tubuh tidak dapat menggunakan insulin yang dihasilkan secara efektif. Diabetes melitus memiliki dampak yang sangat berbahaya karena dapat menimbulkan komplikasi. Nefropati diabetik merupakan salah satu komplikasi yang terjadi pada pasien DM tipe II. Komplikasi ini terjadi akibat kerusakan ginjal pada glomerulus yang mengakibatkan kebocoran ginjal yang menyebabkan protein terutama albumin yang mengalir dari darah ke dalam urin. Tujuan : Untuk mengetahui perbedaan kadar Albumin pada pasien DM tipe II dan koinfeksi DM tipe II dengan Nefropati Diabetik di RS Sumbawa. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel dibagi menjadi dua kategori, yaitu pasien DM tipe II dan pasien DM tipe II dengan koinfeksi nefropati diabetik. Kedua sampel serum dilakukan pemeriksaan kimia darah. Hasil : Penelitian ini menggunakan 30 sampel pasien DM tipe II dan 30 sampel pasien DM tipe II koinfeksi nefropati diabetik, dengan hasil rata-rata kadar albumin DM tipe II adalah 4,03 g/dl, sedangkan DM tipe II dengan koinfeksi Nefropati Diabetik dengan rata -rata 2,04 g/dl. Simpulan : Terdapat perbedaan bermakna uji independent T-Test terhadap kadar albumin pada Diabetes Mellitus tipe II dan Diabetes Mellitus tipe II koinfeksi dengan Nefropati Diabetik dengan probabilitas 0,000.

Abstract

Nail surfacing leaves (Lawsonia inermis lin) are natural materials commonly used as dyes, because of the content of chemical compounds in them such as lawsone, flavonoids, tannins and anthocyanins, therefore nail surfacing leaves can be used as an alternative dye to replace 2% Eosin in STH worm egg examination, because it has the same properties as 2% Eosin and can produce an orange yellow color after the extraction process. The research objective is to determine the results of nail surfacing leaves (Lawsonia inermis lin) can be used as an alternative substance to replace Eosin in the examination of STH (soil transmitted helminth) worm eggs. The methods of this research is using is experimental, where this study looks at the clarity of soil transmitted helminth (STH) worm eggs on preparations, using coloring from the results of soaking the leaves of the nail surf as a substitute for Eosin. The results of the research is that the coloring results obtained in each variation of immersion time are good. The conclusion of this research is that the staining of worm eggs using the results of immersion of nail surfacing leaves for 12 hours, 24 hours, 36 hours, and 48 hours can be used as an alternative dye in the examination of STH worm eggs.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by high blood sugar levels due to impaired insulin secretion. Prolonged treatment and therapy carried out by Diabetes Mellitus patients allows damage to the liver, marked by the results of the examination of Serum Glutamic Oxalate Transminase (SGOT) and Serum Glutamic Pyruvit Transminase (SGPT) that are not normal. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of SGOT, SGPT levels and the number of leukocytes in patients with diabetes mellitus at the Wamena Regional General Hospital, Jayawijaya Regency. This research was conducted from March 13 to June 13, 2019. This type of research is a laboratory test. The population used in this study was Diabetes Mellitus sufferers who conducted an examination at the Wamena Regional General Hospital, Jayawijaya Regency. The samples used were serum and EDTA blood of patients with diabetes mellitus. The method of examining serum glutamic oxalate transminase and serum levels of gltamic pyruvit transminase using Sysmex BX-3010 and the number of leukocytes using the Hematology analyzer Mindray BC-3000 method. The results showed that from a total of 30 patients (100%) the samples studied were 25 SGOT and SGPT normal levels (25%), and were found to have increased SGOT and SGPT levels by 5 patients (16%), while the normal Leukocyte count was 25 patients (84%) and the number of leukocytes increased by 10 patients (34%).

Abstract

Arak is one traditional drink types that is included in the alcoholic beverage class. It is obtained from fermented foods containing sugar. One of alcohol type that is tested for levels is ethanol. This is a transparent liquid that easily evaporates and mixes with water. One of the factors that affect ethanol content is the lenght of fermentation. This research aimed to know the lenght effect of fermentation on alcohol level of arak (Ballo’) at Binamu subdistrict of Jeneponto regency with variety of time namely 0, 1, 3, 5 until 7 days. This research is expected to be recommended to community about the suggested length of fermentation. Method of research was experimental using sample of fresh ballo’ that had distinctive and sweet smell. The result of research indicated that the length variant of fermentation for 0 day was 5,52%, 1 day was 9,81%, 3 days were 19,66%, 5 days were 21,15 % and 7 days were 18,92%. The obtained level achieved quality standard based on National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) No. 14/2016 and according to result of statistical test obtained, the fermentation lenght has a very significant effect on the ethanol content produced.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Nyamuk Aedes aegypti merupakan penyebab utama penyakit DBD, kasus DBD di dunia pada tahun 2015 sebanyak 3,2 juta kasus. Di Indonesia pada tahun 2018 terdapat 65.602 kasus. Upaya pengendalian terhadap vektor DBD telah banyak dilakukan baik dengan menggunakan insektisida kimia dan alami salah satunya dengan jamur Aspergillus niger sebagai fungi entomopatogen. Tujuan Penelitian: Mengetahui konsentrasi letal dan waktu letal dari isolat jamur Aspergillus niger terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegypti.  Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian true eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap. Perlakuan dengan 3 konsentrasi isolat jamur Aspergillus niger yaitu 10-5, 10-6, 10-7 spora/ml dengan 6 replikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan obat nyamuk semprot sebagai kontrol positif. Data diperoleh dianalisa secara statistik menggunakan analisis probit. Hasil Penelitian: Konsentrasi isolat jamur Aspergillus niger yang efektif terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegypti adalah konsentrasi 10-7. Hasil analisis probit uji patogenitas isolat jamur Aspergillus niger terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegypti dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% didapatkan LC50, LC70, LC90 adalah 6,1 x 107 spora/ml, 8,5 x 107 spora/ml, 1,1 x 108 spora/ml dan diketahui LT50, LT70, LT90 berturut-turut adalah 1,919 jam, 1,510 jam, 1,184 jam. Kesimpulan: Konsentrasi isolat jamur Aspergillus niger secara signifikan memberikan pengaruh terhadap kematian nyamuk Aedes aegypti.

Abstract

Antibiotic resistance in gastrointestinal bacterial infections can be overcome by alternatives using medicinal plants such as Dayak bulbs (Eleutherine palmifolia (L.) Merr) and red ginger rhizome (Zingiber officinale Rosc. Var. Rubrum). This study aims to examine the antibacterial activity of a combination of ethanol extracts of Dayak bulbs with red ginger rhizomes and the effectiveness of the extract combinations in inhibiting the growth of Pseudomonas sp. and Bacillus sp. This research is an experimental study with a completely randomized design (CRD) of one factor, namely a combination of ethanol extract of Dayak onion tubers and red ginger rhizomes with 4 variations of concentration 25, 50, 75, and 100 mg/mL at 2 ratios of the combination of 2:1 and 3:1 for 48 experimental units. Tests were carried out on bacteria Pseudomonas sp. and Bacillus sp. in vitro with agar diffusion technique (Kirby Bauer test), while the positive control was Chloramphenicol 30 μg / mL and the negative controls were sterile aquadest. Data analysis in this study used the ANOVA test. The results showed ethanol extract of dayak onion bulbs, red ginger rhizomes, and a combination of the two extracts have antibacterial activity so which can be inhibiting the growth of Pseudomonas sp. and Bacillus sp. The combination of ethanol extract from dayak onion bulbs and has the greatest antibacterial activity at a 3:1 combination of 56.95% against the growth of Pseudomonas sp. and 109.72% against the growth of Bacillus sp.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a non-communicable disease (PTM) that is chronic and can weaken the immune system so that sufferers are 3 times more likely to suffer from pulmonary TB. In chronic infection there is continuous inflammation which is characterized by the presence of neutrophils themselves and will be followed by low lymphocyte values due to immune system pathways that do not work perfectly. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the Neutrophil Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and the incidence of Tuberculosis in Diabetes Mellitus patients at the Jorongan Health Center, Probolinggo Regency. This research is a correlative analytic study with a cross sectional approach. A total of 30 samples of diabetes mellitus patients at the Jorongan Health Center from January to April 2023. The NLR examination method was with a hematology analyzer and tuberculosis patients were examined using Molecular Rapid Test. The statistical test uses Spearman's nonparametric test. The results showed that there was a correlation between NLR values and the incidence of tuberculosis in diabetes mellitus patients at the Jorongan Health Center, p = 0.003 and r = 0.521. Further research needs to be carried out involving larger samples and other laboratory tests related to the immune system in patients with diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Vaksin Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) termasuk kategori vaksin virus yang dimasukkan ke tubuh dengantujuan supaya tubuh dapat merespon sel kanker, sehingga tubuh membentuk respon imun dan timbul respon antivirus. Kanker servik merupakan penyebab tertinggi kedua kematian perempuan di Indonesia, sehingga diperlukan pencegahan dengan memberikan imunitas buatan berupa vaksin Human Papiloma Virus (HPV). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara karakteristik mahasiswa terhadap pengetahuan tentang vaksin Infeksi Human Papiloma Virus (HPV) sebagai imunitas aktif buatan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian adalah mahasiswa program studi DIII Teknologi Bank Darah Surakarta yang sudah menempuh mata kuliah imunologi yaitu sebanyak 33 responden. Alat pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Analisa data univariat disajikan dalam bentuk tabel distribusi frekuensi, dan analisis bivariat menggunakan chi square. Rata-rata pengetahuan responden berjenis kelamin laki-laki yang termasuk kategori baik sekitar 5 responden, cukup ada 3 responden dan yang kurang ada 3 responden. Pengetahuan responden jenis kelamin perempuan yang termasuk kategori baik rata-rata sekitar 9 responden , cukup 8 responden dan kurang 5 responden. Pengetahuan berdasarkan usia <19 tahun yang termasuk kategori baik rata-rata 1 responden, dan kurang ada 1 responden. Pengetahuan responden usia >19 tahun rata-rata yang berpengetahuan baik 14 responden , cukup 11 responden dan kurang ada 6 responden. Kesimpulan penelitian ini tidak ada hubungan antara pengetahuan mahasiswa tentang vaksin HPV sebagai imunitas aktif buatan dengan jenis kelamin.

Abstract

Spons pencuci piring merupakan tempat yang ideal untuk mikroorganisme seperti bakteri berbahaya dan patogen lainnya seperti e-coli, Staphylococcus aureus, dan salmonela. Spons umumnya digunakan di dapur untuk keperluan mencuci peralatan rumah tangga seperti piring, gelas, dan lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi bakteri yang terdapat pada spons pencuci piring yang digunakan oleh ibu rumah tangga. Identifikasi dilakukan dengan metode inokulasi rendaman air spons pencuci piring dimana metode ini berfungsi untuk mengetahui spesies bakteri kontaminan yang tumbuh pada sampel. Penelitian ini menggunakan 3 populasi responden yang dengan rentang waktu penggunaan yang berbeda antara 2 minggu, 4 minggu, dan 6 minggu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat kontaminasi bakteri pada rentang waktu 6 minggu. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan mikroba yang tumbuh adalah E-coli yang merupakan bakteri pathogen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa sampel spons dengan pemakaian lebih dari 4 minggu menunjukan hasil Positif kontaminasi bakteri  E-coli sehinggadapat disimpulkan  rentang waktu yang aman dalam penggunaan spons untuk diganti adalah adalah 4 minggu.
