Abstract

This article describes the results of research on the use of the Project Based Learning model assisted by Canva. This research is motivated by the low ability to write short stories, this is due to the difficulty in finding ideas, the lack of interest of students in learning short stories in grade IX students. The use of technology is rarely used in the learning process, based on this, there needs to be an update in the media used in order to create effective learning. The learning model used is not innovative, making learning outcomes less than optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of the project based learning model assisted by Canva on the ability to write short story texts in grade IX students. The study used a quantitative approach and a joint testing method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The findings of the study indicated that the average pretest score was 64.13, in contrast to the posttest score of 84.67. The findings of the study indicated that the sig value was below 0.05, which was at the Ha acceptance level (0.000 ˂ 0.05). Therefore, Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. According to the N-Gain test, the score obtained was 0.5731, which is in the moderate category. Thus, the Problem Project Based Learning model assisted by Canva is considered effective in increasing the level of learning outcomes in writing short story texts.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of applying the Show Not Tell strategy, enhanced through the use of visual media, on the development of fable writing skills among seventh-grade students. The study is motivated by the noticeable challenges students face in crafting well-structured narratives, particularly in areas such as character portrayal, narrative flow, and plot clarity. Adopting a quantitative methodology, the study utilized a one-group pretest-posttest model involving 20 students from SMP Negeri 2 Margaasih. Writing assessments were conducted before and after the intervention, with the resulting data analyzed through normality testing, paired sample t-tests, and N-Gain calculations using SPSS software. Findings indicate a significant improvement, with the mean score rising from 46.40 in the pretest to 80.10 in the posttest. The paired t-test produced a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), confirming a meaningful statistical difference in students’ performance following the intervention. The N-Gain score was 0.6278 (62.78%), categorized as moderate with an interpretation of being reasonably effective. These findings demonstrate that the Show Not Tell technique, supported by visual media, positively impacts students’ ability to write fable texts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the Discovery Learning model assisted by the Rakata application on students' learning completion in writing poetry texts. The background of this study is based on the low ability to write poetry in class X students caused by the learning model that is less interesting and the minimal use of technology. An alternative solution to overcome this problem is to apply the Discovery Learning model which is designed to encourage students to be active in finding their own concepts, with the support of the Rakata application which allows creative and collaborative exploration in writing poetry. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest design. The subjects of the study were class X SMK students who were divided into experimental and control groups, each consisting of 30 students. The results showed that before the treatment, all students had not reached the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM), with an average score of 47.56. After the implementation of the Discovery Learning model assisted by the Rakata application, there was a significant increase with an average score reaching 81.03 and classical completion of 70%. These findings indicate that learning models combined with technology can improve poetry writing skills effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the application of the PBL model assisted by image media in learning to write poetry for senior high school class X-A. The study began with the problems of students when they had difficulty learning to write poetry. In addition to problems with students, teachers mostly use the lecture method, which makes the lesson uninteresting so that students are less enthusiastic about learning, so that there is a lack of understanding in the material presented by the teacher. In order to overcome this, this study uses an innovative teaching model, namely the problem based learning model assisted by image media. This study uses a quantitative method with testing using pretest and posttest. The findings obtained from the number of cognitive and psychomotor values of each pretest and posttest showed that many students still got scores below KKM, while the posttest results of 85% of students out of 33 people got scores above KKM. In addition, the application of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Image Media managed to increase the value with an N-Gain result of 42.10%, which means that the data has a moderate category so that it is quite effective in improving poetry writing skills.

Abstract

Improving the ability to write explanatory texts has become one of the important focuses in learning, as this skill trains students to convey factual information logically, systematically, and according to language rules. This study aims to understand the process of implementing the Double Loop Problem Solving (DLPS) learning model assisted by infographic media, to identify challenges for students, and to analyze the effectiveness based on improvements in writing skills and student learning outcomes. The method used is a mix method with an exploratory sequential design. The subjects of this research are 11th-grade students at a high school that implements an independent curriculum. Data collection techniques include observation, questionnaires, pre-tests, and post-tests. The results of the study show that the DLPS model assisted by infographic media can facilitate students in understanding the material through a reflective thinking process, effectively increase student engagement, and be able to stimulate students' interest in learning through more interesting and meaningful learning presentations. Observations indicate a 100% implementation of teacher learning and a 90% student involvement. The obstacles faced are minimal with an average low score of 3,11 in sentence construction in the explanatory text after evaluation. The N-gain calculation shows an increase of 0,72 with a 'High' category and student learning completeness reaches 100%. This finding reinforces that the model and media are effectively applied in problem-based writing learning in depth.
