As many as 30 grade VII students of Al-Fatih Integrated Middle School became research participants. The research consisted of two cycles, namely the research cycle I and cycle II. There are four parts to each cycle: planning, executing, observing, and reflecting. The method of data analysis is descriptive qualitative. Based on research findings, class VII Al-Fatih Integrated Middle School can make fantasy stories more effectively using audio-visual media. This can be seen from the results of the first cycle the average value of students is 67.00, and the second cycle the average value of students reaches 75.27. This shows that there was an increase of 8.27 from cycle I to cycle II.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low ability of tenth-grade students to write negotiation texts, which was caused by uninteresting learning processes and a lack of collaboration among students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of applying a problem-based learning (PBL) model assisted by role-playing cards on the ability to write negotiation texts and the differences in learning outcomes between the use of PBL and conventional models. The method used was quantitative with a Quasi-Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group design. The research subjects were 31 tenth-grade accounting students from SMK Mahardika. Data collection techniques included pretest and posttest in the experimental and control groups. The results of the study indicate that the PBL model assisted by role-playing cards is more effective than conventional learning in improving negotiation text writing skills. This is demonstrated by the significant diference between the pretest and posttest scores of the experimental and control classes through the Mann-Whitney statistical test.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, supported by the Canva application, in enhancing the news-writing creativity of seventh-grade students. The study was motivated by the students' low level of creativity in writing news and the limited use of digital media in learning activities. A quantitative research approach was employed using a one-group pretest-posttest design, with test questions serving as the research instrument. The results revealed a significant increase in the average score from 44 in the pretest to 77 in the posttest. The t-test result was 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant improvement following the intervention. Furthermore, the N-Gain test yielded an average score of 0.56, falling into the moderate category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Canva-assisted PjBL model is effective in enhancing the news-writing creativity of seventh-grade students.

Abstract

This research stemmed from students’ limited proficiency in composing response texts, especially in generating ideas, structuring content, and using appropriate language, which was associated with traditional teaching approaches and minimal application of visual aids. To overcome these challenges, the Project Based Learning model supported by Fishbone media was implemented. The study aimed to describe its application, examine students’ reactions, and evaluate learning outcomes. A mixed-method approach with a Sequential Exploratory design was applied to 26 seventh-grade learners at MTs Az-Zahra. Data were obtained through observation, surveys, tests, and documentation. The findings revealed substantial progress, with average scores increasing from 53 (pretest) to 85 (posttest), and an N-Gain of 0.73 categorized as moderately effective. These results demonstrate that PjBL combined with Fishbone media effectively improves students’ writing abilities and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe changes in junior high school students’ descriptive writing skills following the implementation of the discovery learning model assisted by Liveworksheet. The study was motivated by students’ difficulties in producing descriptive texts that were coherent, complete, and linguistically appropriate. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed with 22 seventh-grade students of SMP Nurul Ilmi Boarding School. Data were collected through pretest and posttest writing assessments. The findings showed an increase in the mean score from 60.00 on the pretest to 79.27 on the posttest. These results indicate that the implementation of discovery learning supported by the interactive digital medium Liveworksheet was associated with improved descriptive writing performance. The findings may provide an alternative reference for the use of active learning models and interactive digital media in writing instruction.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low writing skills of students in composing biographical texts, as indicated by unsatisfactory learning outcomes, lack of concentration in generating ideas, and limited understanding of structure and linguistic conventions. To address these issues, the study implemented the discovery learning model assisted by audiovisual media with the aim of examining the implementation process, students’ responses, and the effectiveness of the approach in improving biographical text writing skills. The research employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential exploratory design, combining qualitative analysis in the initial stage through observations and questionnaires, followed by quantitative data collection through achievement tests. The subjects of the study consisted of 25 tenth-grade students at MA AN-NUR Cikalongwetan. The findings revealed an increase in the average score from 69 (pre-test) to 82 (post-test). The Wilcoxon test yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between pre-test and post-test results. The level of mastery improved from 38% to 100%. Student responses were also positive, with questionnaire scores reaching 80% (categorized as “very good”). Thus, the application of discovery learning assisted by audiovisual media proved to be effective in enhancing students’ skills in writing biographical texts.
