Abstract

This was is descriptiveresearch which is aimed at revealing the efforts done by the guidance and counselingteacher to improve the students’ activity in SMP Negeri Kota Padang. In collecting the data, the researcher used guestionnaires which were distributed to the sample 30 students. Based on the result of data analisys, it was revealed that the efforts done by the teacher in improving the students’ activity was in very good category. The percentage of the activity was 82,77%.

Abstract

Abstrak this research early from fact that growing of patient of HIV aids specially in West Sumatra. Natural Patient of dread, stress, depresi, soul convulsion, and discrimination of stigmatisasi. Here in after the situation will pursue development of self concept of odha positively causing low feeling of self, feel worthless self and show wrong behaviour. This research is descriptive research with aim to express self concept and natural by dominant problems of odha.

Abstract

BK teachers have a very big role in providing an understanding of the different characteristics of students, which includes intelligence. Therefore, researchers feel the need to conduct research on student's perceptions about information intelligence test results through information services by BK teacher in high school Adabiah Padang. This study aimed descriptive form to describe the perceptions of students about information intelligence test results through information services by BK teacher. The population of this study were all high school students of class XI Adabiah Padang. Data collection tool was a questionnaire that reveals student's perceptions about information intelligence test results through information services by BK teacher, then the collected data were analyzed by using percentages. The findings of the study revealed that student's perceptions about information intelligence test results through information services by BK teachers belong to the category quite well. Based on the findings of the study suggested, should be able to provide more intensive information on the results of intelligence test, especially to students who do not understand the benefits and follow-up of intelligence test results obtained.

Abstract

Emotional intelligenceplays an important rolein education, one of themin theschoolelection. Emotionallyintelligentstudentsselect schoolsaccording totheir owndesiresand interestsandtalents. In factthere aresomestudentswho indicatedlessemotionallyintelligent, whichis stilldependent onhis parentsandwent along witha friendinhigh schoolelection, causingdisappointmentin himafterentering theselected schools. The purposeof researchtodescribe theemotional intelligenceof studentsin theschoolelectionsinSMK4Padang. Results ofthe studyrevealedthat(1) the emotionalintelligenceof studentsin theschoolelectionsfrom the aspects ofthe bulkidentify emotionsin middle category(2) aspects ofmanagingemotionsmostlyin middle category(3) aspects ofmotivating yourselfto beinthe medium category. From the research resultssuggestedTeacherGuidanceandCounseling/Counselorsprovideguidanceandcounselingservicesthatcanminimizethe lessintelligentstudentsemotionally, so thatstudentscandevelop the potentialin him. The servicescanbe giventhatthe serviceinformation, servicecontentmastery, andgroup counselingservicesthatmatterrelating toemotional intelligenceservices. It can also begivenindividualcounselingservicesfor students who have less troubleemotionallyintelligent. Thenit is also suggestedtohomeroom, principals, andschoolpersonnelin order tocooperatein identifyingandprovidinggreat attentionto studentswhoare lessemotionallyintelligent.

Abstract

This research aims to formulate guidance and counseling module to improve interpersonal communication ability of students and to describe the level of applicability used by counselor. The method used was ADDIE model development. The properness test was done by three experts and the practicality test was done by three guidance and counseling teachers or counselors. The instruments used were skala likert, questionnaire and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The data gathered in this research was analyzed by using descriptive statistic analysis and non-parametric statistic analysis.  Based on these results, in general, it was concluded that the module developed was appropriate and could be used to help the students to improve their interpersonal

Abstract

Through the ministry of guidance and counseling teachers expected students to develop optimally. The reality in schools, there is guidance and counseling teachers who face obstacles in the implementation of home visits. The research was descriptive form, which aims to describe the barriers faced by guidance and counseling teachers in the planning, implementation and follow up of the results of the home visit. The results showed that there is still a lot of guidance and counseling teachers may encounter in the planning, implementation and follow up of the results of the home visit. Abstract

The background of the research was based on pre observation about negative sexuality behavior in one city of West Sumatera. Sexual behavior is negatively related to the alleged wrong perception of sex. From the result, authors are interested in conducting research on student’s perceptions of teenager sexual behavior and its implications for guidance and counseling services. Its population is SMPN student’s in one of the city of West Sumatra in class VII, VIII, and IX of the school year 2012/2013 as many as 445 student’s. The sampling technique is stratified random sampling with a sample of 112 student’s. Research instrument was a questionnaire of student’s perceptions of teenager sexual behavior. The data obtained were analyzed by using percentages. From this research, the overall perception of student’s is really about sexual behavior was categorized as very positive.

Abstract

Abstract Self-regulation is influenced by some factors, like achievement motivation. Students’ inability to regulate themselves in learning is reflected through doing truant. This research is aimed at describing: (1) self-regulation of truant student, (2) achievement motivation of truant students, (3) the contribution of achievement motivation toward self-regulation of truant student, (4) the impact of achievement motivation and self-regulation of truant students toward guidance and counseling services. This research used quantitative approach with descriptive and correlation methods.  The population of this research was 35 students of class X and XI MAN 2 Payakumbuh. The sample of this research was 35 students using total sampling method, who ever did truant at least 5 times in a semester. The data was collected aquestionnaire and analyzed by using descriptive statistics and analysis of simple linear regression. The finding of this research: (1) the level of achievement motivation of truant students was high, (2) the level of self-regulation of truant students was high, (3) contribution of achievement motivation toward self-regulation of truant students was 34,6% with a significant 0,000. In order to develop self-regulation of the truant students, the guidance and counseling can give counseling service through: (1) information services related to the importance happy to subject teachers and the material presented so that we are not saturated in learning, (2) guidance and group service to the topic of harm ditching task and the importance of learning, (3) mastering content service mastery tips on improving achievement motivation and self-regulation. Theservice programis doingtoincrease of achievementmotivationandself-regulationstudents, so the studentscan do self regulationandachievementin learning.

Abstract

Bullying is a behavior consciously done by someone to abuse and hurt others. Ideally, the guidance and counseling teachers (BK teachers)are demanded to give attentions in preventing bullying behavior. However, in fact, the BK teachers have not plan special programs yet to prevent the bullying behavior among students in school. This research aims to describe the understanding of BK teachers about the concept of bullying behavior. Then, it aims to describe the treatment of the BK given by the teachers to the students. Finally, it aims to describe the cooperation among the BK teachers within the school. This research is kind of descriptive research. The population of this research is all of the BK teachers of SMA Negeri (State school for secondary education) in Padang. Sample is taken by using area sampling and simple random sampling techniques. Generally, the result implicates that the BK teachers have done preventing efforts toward bullying behavior among students in the school. Thus, the teachers should increase the understanding in reference to bullying behavior among students to prevent the behavior in school.

Abstract

It was assumed that students who had self-confidence would be able to complete their tasks and vise versa. In fact, there were still some students had less self-confidence in completing their tasks. This researchwas aimed at describing the students’ self-confidence at SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping in completing their task. This was a descriptive research whose population was 592 students. From those, 86 students were taken as the sample. The data was collected by using questionnaire. The result of the research revealed that the students’ self-confidence at SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Sikaping was in good category. To increase students’s self confidence in completing thein tasks better, the guidance and counseling teachers give them information service, team guidance service, and individual counseling.
