Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the psychological aspects of the main character in Gol A Gong's Novel Surat dari Bapak; (2) describe the moral values ​​in the novel Surat Dari Bapak by Gol A Gong; and (3) describe its use as teaching materials in SMA. The main character psychological theory used in this study is the psychoanalytic theory by Sigmund Freud which consists of three personality structures, namely: the id found 9 data, the ego found 4 data, and the superego found 3 data. Furthermore, the theory of moral values ​​used is the fictional assessment theory put forward by Nurgiyantoro which consists of three relations of problems in life, including the relationship between humans and oneself found 11 data which include firm stance, calm, careful, self-esteem, independent, and aware error; human relations with the social sphere found 14 data including loyalty, social care, courtesy, parental love for children, and critical; and the relationship between humans and God found 3 data including believing in the existence of God. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The research subject is the novel Surat dari Bapak by Gol A Gong. The object of research is the psychology of the main character and the moral value of the novel Surat dari Bapak. The source of the data is the story description of the novel Surat dari Bapak by Gol A Gong published by Puspa Swara. This data collection technique uses observation techniques. The research instrument was a researcher assisted by a literary support book and notes. The data analysis technique uses content analysis techniques.

Abstract

Advertising is one of the strategies employed by producers to promote their products or services. The purpose of this research is to analyze the discourse in the MR.DIY 2022 Eid advertisement "Kembali ke Pangkuan" available on the MR DIY Indonesia YouTube channel. The study aims to describe and identify the types of discourse and their functions in the advertisement. This research adopts a qualitative approach, and the research data consist of speech fragments that reflect illocutionary speech acts. The data source for this study is a video recording of the advertisement. Data collection was conducted using observation and note-taking techniques (advanced techniques). Data analysis was performed using a qualitative data analysis model according to Miles and Huberman, which involved data reduction, data presentation, and data inference. The findings of this study indicate the presence of 22 illocutionary speech acts in the MR.DIY 2022 Eid advertisement "Kembali ke Pangkuan". The types of utterances include: (1) 4 instances of assertive speech acts, (2) 7 instances of directive speech acts, (3) 7 instances of expressive speech acts, (4) 3 instances of commissive speech acts, and (5) 1 instance of declaration speech act.

Abstract

The novel "5 Cm" by Donny Dhirgantoro contains social and aesthetic values, which makes it a suitable subject for research aiming to describe these values. This study adopts a qualitative descriptive research approach, using data obtained from the novel "5 Cm" itself. The data collection method employed in this study involves reading the novel and taking detailed notes. The data analysis method utilizes descriptive techniques to examine the collected data. The researchers also conducted data validation to enhance the reliability of the study. The findings of this research reveal the presence of three social values in the novel "5 Cm": material values, vital values, and spiritual values as presented by Notonegoro. Additionally, the novel also encompasses aesthetic values, including asexual beauty, natural beauty, and alkaline beauty. This research holds significance for further studies and readers, as it allows them to explore the values conveyed in the novel and uncover the underlying meanings in "5 Cm."

Abstract

Writing scientific articles for students is not as easy as writing free articles. The most basic thing in writing scientific articles is not only grammar but also the systematics of writing. A writer should pay attention to good and correct writing in accordance with Enhanced Spelling (EYD). This study aims to find out Indonesian spelling errors in scientific articles for students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program Class of 2019 at PGRI University, West Sumatra. This is qualitative research with a descriptive method. The data collection technique used is a documentary study technique. The data were obtained from document analysis, namely Indonesian spelling errors in student scientific articles. The use of documentary study techniques in this study was assisted by instruments in the form of data recording cards, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions with verification. The data was analyzed by noting Indonesian spelling errors and selecting each incoming piece of data from the documentation, then processing and focusing all the raw data to make it more meaningful. The results showed that these errors were found in (a) the use of italics and capital letters, and (b) writing errors. (c) errors in the use of punctuation marks (d) errors in writing absorption elements; (e) errors in the systematics of writing scientific articles in the form of errors in writing the title; (f) mistakes in writing abstracts and keywords (g) mistakes in writing the introductory part (h). mistakes in writing the main part (results and discussion) (i). mistakes in writing the closing part (conclusion) (j). Error in writing the reference list.

Abstract

The Muna language serves as both a social language and a means of communication within the Muna sociocultural area, actively used and mastered by its speakers. The objective of this study is to uncover linguistic facts, specifically those related to the core argument cases of verbs in the Muna language. The research employs a descriptive method aimed at providing an accurate description of the data, characteristics, and relationships of the phenomena under investigation. The research findings reveal various verb core argument cases in the Muna language, including: (a) Stative verb core argument cases, which encompass (i) basic stative verb core argument cases, (ii) stative experiential verb core argument cases, (iii) stative verb core argument cases involving ownership, and (iv) core argument cases of locative stative verbs. (b) Core argument cases for process verbs, which consist of (i) basic process verb core argument cases, (ii) process experience verb core argument cases, (iii) process verb core argument cases involving ownership, and (iv) core argument cases of locative process verbs. (c) Action verb core argument cases, which include (i) basic action verb core argument cases, (ii) action experience verb core argument cases, (iii) action verb core argument cases involving possession, and (iv) core argument cases of locative action verbs.

Abstract

A child's mastery of a language begins with the acquisition of the first language, which is often called the mother tongue. Apart from the mother tongue, which plays a role in children's language acquisition, the language of teachers at school also plays a role in the development of children's language acquisition and learning. In schools, language use is a reality of teacher-student communication interactions that take place in teaching and learning activities. The teacher's use of language with students in conversations in class, especially the teacher's speech, Speech acts are speech events because they involve parties speaking in certain situations and places. These two symptoms occur in one process, namely the communication process. The teacher's speech acts referred to in this research are directive speech acts. Directive speech acts have an important role in children's language acquisition because they are carried out by the speaker with the intention that the listener performs the action mentioned in the speech. This research aims to (1) describe the forms of directive speech acts used by teachers in the teaching and learning process in language acquisition for 4-year-old children at EBTA Paud and (2) describe teachers' directive speech strategies in the teaching and learning process at EBTA Paud. The data source in this research is the speeches of teachers who teach at EBTA Early Childhood Education. The data collection techniques used in this research are recording techniques and note-taking techniques. The results of the research found that the use of speech acts in the form of directive speech in the teaching and learning process by teachers at EBTA Early Childhood Education was orders, requests, or hopes, suggesting, advising, and challenging. There are two speaking strategies used by teachers in the teaching and learning process at Paud EBTA, namely the strategy of speaking frankly without preamble and the strategy of speaking frankly with positive politeness.

Abstract

Postcolonialism literary criticism is a critical approach to literature that involves the historical context of colonialism and its impact on culture, identity, and power. Postcolonial literary criticism also helps provide an understanding of the concept of 'the Other', i.e., the way in which colonial culture denigrates and belittles other cultures outside its nation. This study aims to examine the article by Ki Hadjar Dewantara written in the newspaper Express with an approach to literary criticism of postcolonialism. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative literature study with an analysis method, namely content analysis. The source of this research data is an article entitled "Als ik een Nederlander was" or "If I Were a Dutchman," written by Ki Hadjar Dewantara (KHD) and published in De Express Newspaper on July 13, 1913. The research data is in the form of discourse quotes contained in the article. Data collection techniques include read, listen, and record techniques. The findings contained resistance in the form of mimicry, hybridity, and ambivalence. The resistance to mimicry or imitation shown by KHD is included in the category of closed or covert reciprocity because the rejection of the policies implemented by the Dutch government is opposed by writing that contains subtle but sharp satire. Hibridity resistance is found in the choice of KHD diction that deliberately explores and contrasts the words inlander-nederlander, freedom and slavery, freedom and oppression. The ambivalence resistance that was found was KHD, who initially wanted to become a Dutchman with his various arguments that flattered as well as satirized and gave condemnation to the colonial nation as KHD's strategy in awakening the patriotism and nationalism of the Indonesian people to fight for independence.

Abstract

The nature of being open to immigrants makes ethnic Malays exposed to various crimes such as fraud, physical violence, sexual violence, murder, theft, corruption,  and the use of illegal drugs involving perpetrators who are Malay nationals or perpetrators who live in the Malay area, which continues to increase every year. the year. the year. This increase in crime rates shows that people in the Malay area are experiencing a decline in character. There have been various speculations that cultural customs, teachings, and advice on trust are no longer respected, or perhaps those who live in the Malay area have not been given teachings regarding the noble values of Malay culture, which are based on the Koran. Therefore, the dimension of religiosity related to Malay ethnic beliefs in the book needs to be reconstructed and internalized with the aim of strengthening Malay ethnic beliefs, and people living in Malay areas believe in the Koran as a guide to life. A descriptive qualitative study was completed through stylistic, semiotic, and hermeneutic approaches to traditional Malay poetry. The research data is in the form of rhymes, poetry, and expressions contained in Tenas Effendy's works. The data sources for the study come from four books. (1) Tunjung Ajar Melayu in Pantun Gurindam and Seloka; (2) Pantun Nasihat; (3) Syair Nasib Melayu; and (4) Tangkat Ajar Melayu: Details of Riau Malay Culture. Data was collected through reading, noting, and interpreting techniques, then coded to count the number of occurrences using the AnCont application. The validity of the data goes through a verification and validation process by experts in the fields of literature, Malay, and religion. Malay ethnic faith in the Koran appears in several categories, namely: (1) knowing God by devoutly reading the Koran; (2) Ethnic Malays use the Koran as Imam; (3) encouraging children to honor the Koran; (4) customary lines that are based on syarak and syarak based on the Book of Allah; (5) diligently listening to the reading of the Koran is believed to expand knowledge; (6) making the Koran a guide for life; and (7) diligently studying the Koran as a sign of Malay luck. The reconstruction of the religiosity dimension of belief in books shows that traditional Malay poetry is a literary work that contains a call to amar maruf nahi mungkar. It is hoped that this study can have implications for learning. Riau Malay culture in schools and oral literature in universities.

Abstract

The lexicon and distribution of Riau Malay emerged because of causes that are closely related to language changes observed in certain elements found in the variety of dialects, regional boundaries, number of speakers, residence, identity and cultural pride, and economic conditions. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the lexical form of phonology and (2) the geographical distribution of phonological forms that experience variations in Riau Malay in Kampar Regency. This research uses a descriptive method with listening, interviewing, recording, and recording techniques. The methods and analytical techniques used are the padan method and the banding technique. This research was conducted at nine observation points in Kampar Regency. The sample of informants at each observation point amounted to one person. The research instrument used for the interview was a list of questions containing 441 questions. The results of this study are based on its realization: the determination of phonetic innovations based on the discovery of variants that show a phonotactic change from the original variant at the Riau Malay observation point in Kampar Regency. Its geographical phonological distribution is based on observation points and the results of data phenomena in the field that often experience dispersal at observation points (1), (2), (3), (8), and geographically.

Abstract

The purpose this research is to describe the local wisdom values ​​contained in the novel Baiat Cinta di Tanah Baduy by Uten Sutendy. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data sources used in this research are novels by Uten Sutendy as well as relevant theoretical books related to literature and local wisdom values. The research data is in the form of excerpts from sentences contained in the novel Baiat Cinta di Tanah Baduy by Uten Sutendy. The data collection techniques in this research are reading the entire contents of the novel, identifying the local wisdom values ​​contained in the novel, looking for data related to character values, searching for the benefits of the analysis to be used as teaching material and the researcher collects these points to arrive at the stage conclusion. From this analysis, it can be concluded that in the novel Baiat Cinta di Tanah Baduy by Uten Sutendy there is a cultural ecology that focuses on the environment, niche or habitat, resources and energy. In these four approaches there are types of character values, customs or customs, respect. nature, nature conservation, technological limitations, utilization of natural resources, tolerance values, national values, preserving animals and nature, praying to Allah, humans are weak creatures, believing in Allah's destiny, sacrifice, victory, compassion, mutual cooperation, caring.
