Abstract

Environmental campaigns are an effort to preserve the environment through various media. The aim of this research is to determine the environmental campaign on the Instagram account @zerowaste.id in educating the public. The method used in this research is interpretive qualitative. Data collection techniques use literature studies and documentation. Data analysis uses qualitative content analysis by interpreting @zerowaste.id account posts that are relevant to environmental campaigns. The research findings show that the Instagram account @zerowaste.id educates Instagram followers through its creative content in the form of how to make minimal waste hampers, alternative hair care products, zero waste healthy provisions, the benefits of compost for plants, facts about e-waste and zero challage. This environmental campaign aims to provide information to followers to reduce waste, apart from that, it also educates and persuades followers to use environmentally friendly products in their daily lives.

Abstract

Fokus perhatian pemerintah saat ini diantaranya masalah stunting sesuai Perpres Nomor. 72 Tahun 2021 tentang percepatan penurunan prevalansi stunting. Gagasan dan program pencegahan stunting, dikomunikasikan dengan memanfaatkan teknologi dalam penyampaian informasi stunting, terbukti prevalensi stunting di Kabupaten Bengkalis berhasil menurun dari 21,9% menjadi 8,4%, terendah di Provinsi Riau. Kajian ini menjelaskan efektivitas komunikasi penggunaan aplikasi eHDW sebagai media penyampaian informasi dalam upaya menurunkan prevalensi stunting di Kabupaten Bengkalis. Metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data melalui kuesioner, observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi. Dinalisis dengan menggunakan teori difusi. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa proses inovasi penyampaian informasi dan laporan melalui aplikasi eHDW sudah efektif sesuai standar pelayanan yang baik dalam mencapai target pemerintah dari segi pemakai, isi pesan, media komunikasi, format pesan, sumber pesan, ketepatan waktu karena merupakan solusi digital untuk memfasilitasi desa dalam mengumpulkan data, memantau, mencatat dan melaporkan pencegahan stunting dari tingkat kabupaten sampai tingkat desa sehingga berkontribusi terhadap prestasi nasional.

Abstract

Abstract Environmental issues have become one of the most pressing global challenges over the past decade. Recognising the tremendous development of digitalisation today, WALHI Jakarta also uses new media in campaigning for environmental issues that arise, especially in the DKI Jakarta area. With the background mentioned above, the purpose of this research is to find out how WALHI Jakarta's communication strategy in campaigning environmental issues, how WALHI Jakarta uses social media in campaigning environmental issues and digital activism carried out by WALHI Jakarta in campaigning environmental issues. WALHI Jakarta campaigns on environmental issues through fact-finding, planning, action implementation and evaluation. Through Instagram @pulihkanjakarta, they spread fast and diverse information, involve affected communities, and combine physical action with digital technology. This research is also expected to be a scientific literature in future research related to organisational communication strategies, especially in the use of Instagram social media.

Abstract

Kopi Tuli represents a pioneering initiative in Indonesian coffee shop management, being one of the first establishments to be fully managed by Teman Tuli. In terms of communication, Teman Tuli utilises Indonesian Sign Language (BISINDO) as the primary language. This research project aims to analyse the branding strategy adopted by Kopi Tuli to increase awareness of Teman Tuli's existence and to evaluate the impact of Kopi Tuli's branding in introducing BISINDO sign language. The research was conducted using qualitative methods, comprising a literature review, observation and in-depth interviews. The results demonstrate that the branding strategy employed by Kopi Tuli is efficacious in increasing public awareness of Teman Tuli's existence and the introduction of BISINDO sign language. The branding strategy that has been deemed effective encompasses several pivotal elements that have collectively succeeded in attracting public attention. These include a transparent and distinctive brand positioning, a robust brand identity, the utilisation of social media as a pivotal campaign medium, an educational customer experience that enables direct acquisition of sign language skills, and an amplified public awareness of the Teman Tuli community.

Abstract

Live streaming is a new phenomenon and is an effective digital marketing strategy to attract consumer attention and encourage purchasing decisions. This article aims to analyze the influence of cognitive responses to e-commerce live-streaming advertisements on purchasing decisions. The research was conducted using quantitative methods. Data was collected through a survey of 96 respondents who had made purchases on Shopee e-commerce and watched live streaming. Data testing uses Path Analysis with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis techniques through the Partial Least Square (PLS) process. The research results show that cognitive responses to live-streaming advertisements have a positive influence on purchasing decisions through attitude as a mediating variable with a value of 0.564 or 56%. This is in line with the assumptions of cognitive response theory, namely how consumers process information from advertising and how this cognitive response influences their attitudes and purchasing decisions. Consumer cognitive responses are obtained through consumer thoughts about products, consumer thoughts on information sources and consumer thoughts on advertising. These factors will lead to the formation of attitudes, both attitudes towards the brand and attitudes towards advertising, with the final stage being the purchasing decision. The findings in this article provide a practical impression for e-commerce business people to focus on improving the quality of content and interactions between business people when live streaming is taking place.

Abstract

PT Jawa Pos Holding is a major media company with a network across various provinces in Indonesia. In 2017, a conflict among shareholders led to Dahlan Iskan, the chairman, leaving the company. This situation impacted PT Jawa Pos Holding’s media landscape. This research explores the aftermath of Dahlan Iskan’s separation from the company. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, it reveals a shift in media ownership concentration at PT Jawa Pos Holding, marked by the transfer of several media outlets to Dahlan Iskan’s Disway Daily. The need for Dahlan Iskan, still a reader magnet, drove this transfer, which occurred without significant conflict due to the fluid and non-structural patron - client relationship between PT Jawa Pos Holding and its media followers.

Abstract

Fast and accurate information is a need for people throughout Indonesia, including South Kalimantan, including information related to disaster events. South Kalimantan is an area that has a high level of vulnerability to flood disasters every year. This article was written with the aim of revealing the framing of flood-related news carried out by the online media Teras.7, which consists of related news before the disaster occurred, when the disaster occurred and after the disaster occurred. The limitation of this research is that the news analysis focuses on only one online media, namely terrace7.com. The method used to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative with Robert Etnman's Framing analysis approach. There are nine news stories analyzed which illustrate that the news presented by the online media teras7.com has fulfilled the four elements of Etnman's framing, where each report always begins with define problem to explain flood events in an area, diagnosis causes which explain what happened and who caused it. involved, then the element of making moral judgment in the news article accompanied by strengthening arguments supported by statements from sources and the last element, namely treatment recommendations containing recommendations, solutions and follow-up actions that must be carried out.

Abstract

This study aims to find out and analyze the identification of millennial Muslims on social media and the coverage formed regarding the halal lifestyle for millennial Muslims in Pekanbaru. How topics trend, top search keywords, preferred content and identify Muslim millennials. This study used the nethnography method to analyze the interactions and conversations in online social media communities. The results showed that the top hashtags used were #dakwahmilenial and #Halalismyway. In addition, halal lifestyle is interpreted on social media through several categorizations such as Halal Culinary Content, Halal Recipes and Cuisine, Halal Product Advertising, Religious Education Content, Halal Lifestyle and Fashion, Halal Social and Awareness Campaigns, Online Communities, and Product Reviews and Places to Eat. They make social media a religious "knowledge-finding" process amid their daily routines. The increasingly massive hijra trend in the era of social media symbolizes symbols of lifestyle to form a new identity that is single to multi-identity in the trend of halal life.

Abstract

Indonesia's cultural preservation faces significant challenges in the era of globalization, especially in attracting the younger generation. This research explores the innovation diffusion strategy implemented by Larasati Art Studio in Purbalingga in efforts to preserve traditional culture. Using a qualitative case study methodology, data was collected through in-depth interviews and observations. The results show that Larasati Art Studio applies an innovation diffusion strategy through the gradual adoption of digital technology, starting with the use of Instagram, Google Business, and YouTube. This strategy is reinforced by active involvement in local and national art communities, which accelerates the innovation adoption process. The studio also combines digital innovation with active participation in various traditional art events, creating a holistic approach to cultural preservation. Although social media engagement levels still need improvement, this strategy has successfully increased the studio's visibility, member participation, and young people's interest in traditional arts. This research demonstrates how the Diffusion of Innovation Theory can be applied in the context of cultural preservation in Indonesia, supporting the achievement of SDGs, especially Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

Abstract

This study analyzes the representation of civil-military relations in the post New Order era as depicted in the film Autobiography. Furthermore, the researcher examines the impact of New Order cultural legacies evident in the film. Autobiography is the first political thriller film after the Reformasi era to reflect the enduring hegemonic influence of military power in contemporary socio-political life. The researcher employs a qualitative-descriptive approach and John Fiske's codes of television concept. The study reveals that the film represents the impact of military dominance across three levels: reality, representation, and ideology. At the reality level, military attributes and the behavior of the character Purna affirm his position as a dominant authority. At the representation level, cinematic techniques such as lighting and dialogue create a tense atmosphere that reflects the military's psychological control over civilians. Finally, at the ideology level, the film's narrative exposes power imbalances and the authoritarian legacies of the past, which continue to influence Indonesia's social and political structures.
