Abstract

This research is caused by online learning conducted by public elementary school in suburban areas. Online learning is carried out because the “Covid-19” virus outbreak has become a disaster in the world of education. Online learning requires several facilities such as an internet signal and a smartphone. This facility becomes a problem if an area experiences internet problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study of phenomenology. The subjects in this study were teachers, parents, and fourth grade students. Data collection used is interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis used was data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of online learning in grade IV public elementary school in suburban areas during the “Covid-19” pandemic was shown based on input, process, and output indicators. This can be seen from the input indicator, namely the application of teacher characteristics, namely motivation, fostering enthusiasm, and mastering technology, communication. The learning facilities used by students include cellphones/smartphones, internet networks, and the cost of buying internet data packages. Process indicators are related to the allocation of teacher time, namely managing time effectively. The application of time allocation for students is to take advantage of time tolerance in completing tasks. The output indicator is related to student learning outcomes. The application of changes in student attitudes is to be more motivating, disciplining, and timely in submitting assignments.

Abstract

The difficulty of elementary school students in learning mathematics can be overcome through contextual learning, one of which is by using a cultural context. Mathematical content is widely available in cultural elements, one of which is traditional houses. This study aims to explore elementary school math concepts in traditional houses in Waka village, Ende, NTT. This research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The process of collecting data in this study was carried out by interview, observation and documentation. The results showed that the Waka traditional house was related to elementary school mathematics. Mathematical concepts found in traditional houses in Waga Village are dominated by the concepts of primitive geometric elements (such as points, lines, line segments, angles) and flat and space forms.

Abstract

Character education at AUD is the basis that must be applied, given the increasingly complex world of children, as well as so diverse information and communication, which have an impact on children. In the application of character education, of course, it will not be separated from the arrangement of the curriculum that will make it easier for educators to achieve an educational goal. This research aims to describe the development of a character-based early childhood curriculum. This research uses a qualitative approach that is literature study. The data analysis technique used in this research is content analysis which is an in-depth discussion of the content of information obtained through reference books and journals. The result of this research is that with the development of an appropriate curriculum, learning will run according to the expected goals. Planning must be made every time learning, without planning, learning will not go well and directed. Likewise, when applying character values, some preparation is needed by each class teacher. As well as character planting, it is not only limited to the curriculum, but can run effectively when this character cultivation is carried out in the daily habits of children, by this the children can improve the character development in themselves.

Abstract

Literary appreciation is the skill of understanding, living, and giving opinions on a literary work. Observations of literary appreciation learning in 3 elementary schools showed literary appreciation learning by lecture method, and 66% of children had difficulty appreciating stories. The purpose of this research is to develop an media interactive ebook Taksi (Fiction Story) that deserves to be used in the study of literary appreciation. This type of research is Research and Development (RnD) uses Borg and Gall development models that have been adapted using 7 steps (potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, readability test, product revision). Data analysis using descriptive quantitative. The percentage feasibility of interactive ebook Taksi (1) material and language experts is 86% (2) multimedia and learning media experts by 85%. Teacher readability test results by 88%. Student readability test results by 99%. Thus, media interactive ebook Taksi deserves to be used as a learning medium.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the learning model Discovery Learning and Problem Based Learning in terms of the critical thinking skills of grade V elementary school students. This type of research is a meta analyst. The data analysis technique used is the Effect size analysis technique. The effect size formula is the effect formula with the eta squared (ή2) formula. The instrument used in this study was a coding sheet. The variables used to obtain coding information on the effect size of the meta-analysis study. The results showed that the Discovery Learning learning model was more effective than the Problem Based Learning learning model for improving students' critical thinking skills. Ancova test results show f count> f table of 0.009 and F count obtained is 6.12, namely 6.12> 0.65 and a significance of 0.001 <0.05 which indicates that there is an effectiveness of Discovery Learning and Problem Based Learning learning models in improving critical thinking skills of class students V SD.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the connection skills and understanding of students' mathematical concepts, especially in cube and block material. The study took a qualitative approach and used descriptive research. The findings of this research show some of the students still have difficulty understanding the concept of cube and block material. The students are still confused in choosing what procedures (formulas) to use in solving test questions, and the students still have difficulty applying the concept of cubes and blocks in working on problems. Furthermore, for the mathematical connection ability, students did not understand the relationship between the concept of cubes and blocks. This is because students do not understand the test questions and have mastered the previous prerequisite material that relevant to the questions. The students' accuracy in doing arithmetic operations often makes calculation errors. The conclusion is the students' ability to connect and understand mathematical concepts is still low.

Abstract

Thematic learning in elementary school has obstacles in its implementation, one of which is related to the media. The results of the observation show that students need pictorial media. The purpose of this research is to develop learning media in the form of pictorial modules to support learning. The researchers used research development or Research and Development (R&D), according to Borg and Gall. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. Based on the results of material expert validation, it was 89%, linguist validation was 88%, and media expert validation was 84%. The results of the student readability questionnaire were 88%, and the teacher's readability questionnaire was 92%. The conclusion is the thematic module of the development of transportation technology for elementary students was developed suitable for use in learning.

Abstract

Learning mathematics in elementary schools has many shortcomings in terms of learning resources so that effective learning resources are needed to support teaching and learning activities. The purpose of this study is to produce appropriate learning products. This research and development uses the Borg n Gall model with 7 adapted development steps, namely: potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product testing, product revision. The results of the percentage of validation from the 3 validators are: (1) 90.5% of material experts (2) 85% of language experts and (3) 82% of material experts. The results of the student readability questionnaire showed that the supplement book was feasible to use with a reading percentage of 94% and a positive response from students to the book. The teacher readability rate showed a reading percentage of 90% was suitable for use. So, the mathematics supplement book developed can be used in the learning process.

Abstract

Distance learning is currently implemented by several schools. It has some problems in learning media that used by students in their home. This research aims to a product in the form of interactive PowerPoint media for mathematics learning of valid and practical. This study used a modified 4D model development research method, namely define, design, and development. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire. Questionnaire was given to the expert validators and media experts to assess the validity of the media, and student response questionnaires to see the practicality of the media. Subjects were grade IV students of MI Integral Al-Hikmah Hidayatullah Merauke. The results showed the material expert's assessment of the product developed before revision had an average score of 51,5 in the good category. After being revised, the average increased to 66 in the very good category. In contrast to the results of the media expert's assessment. Before being revised, the media expert's assessment had an average score of 61,5 with a medium category. Then, after being revised by the experts, the average value increased to 108 in the very good category. Grade IV students' assessment has a practicality percentage of 91%.
