Abstract

This study analyzes the factors causing work stress, its impact on employee well-being and productivity, and the coping strategies implemented at the Regional Revenue Agency (Badan Pendapatan Daerah, BAPENDA) of North Sumatra Province. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach to understand the dynamics of work stress and a quantitative approach to measure the prevalence of stress-causing factors. The findings show that work stress arises not only from internal factors, such as high workloads and interpersonal conflicts, but also from structural weaknesses, such as unrealistic targets, delayed payment of allowances, and inadequate workplace facilities. Problem-focused coping strategies, such as work planning and social support, were found to be more effective in reducing long-term stress than emotion-focused strategies, such as relaxation and meditation, which only provide temporary benefits. This study makes a significant contribution to the development of the Demand-Control Model and Coping Theory by highlighting the importance of the interaction between internal and external factors in influencing work stress in the government sector. The combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches offers a comprehensive methodology for understanding this phenomenon. The practical implications of this research include recommendations to improve administrative systems, create supportive work environments, and promote problem-focused coping strategies to enhance employee well-being and sustain organizational productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze feminist values in literature during the Abbasid era, particularly in the representation of women in the poem "Quluubu An-Nisaai Sakhurun" by Abbas bin Ahnaf. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques that include literature reviews and analysis of relevant documents. The study identifies that feminism in this work is evident through the depiction of women as objects of admiration while simultaneously portraying them as complex characters. Social and cultural factors, such as patriarchy, shape how women are represented in this poem, reflecting the norms prevailing during that period. This study contributes by highlighting the relevance of feminist perspectives in understanding classical literature and providing insights into the relationship between social structures and literary creation.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Family Hope Program (PKH) in Sei Lumut Village, North Sumatra Province, with a focus on its impact on community welfare, obstacles faced in program implementation, and social inequality that arises among the community. In addition, this study also aims to identify strategies that can be used to optimize the effectiveness of the PKH program in reducing social inequality in the village. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The research findings show that the social inequality that is created is not only caused by miscommunication, but also by the lack of mechanisms that allow for adjustments to the socio-economic status of recipients of the Family Hope Program assistance. Irregular data updates exacerbate this gap, while unclear communication causes confusion among beneficiaries. This study contributes to understanding how better data management and communication can improve the effectiveness of PKH and reduce social inequality in the community. Therefore, aid management must improve the data management system and strengthen coordination between stakeholders, as well as improve socialization to aid recipients to be more effective

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of digital da'wah in Indonesia using the theoretical framework of Fisher and Rinehart's Living Religions. The research applies a qualitative method through online observations and literature reviews. The findings reveal that digital da'wah has successfully created new spaces for the dissemination of Islam by adopting a more inclusive approach and adapting to technological advancements. Contrary to previous assumptions that Islam would lag behind modernity, this study demonstrates that Islamic preaching in the digital world enriches perspectives on religious teachings and enables Islamic messages to reach diverse audiences, particularly younger generations. However, this study also highlights the challenges that arise due to the lack of caution in delivering da'wah content, which can lead to controversy in the digital sphere. This research contributes to the development of a digital da'wah concept that responds to contemporary changes and emphasizes the importance of ethics in spreading religious messages online. Furthermore, it provides new insights into how Islamic da'wah can persist and evolve in the digital era without losing its core teachings

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Sedekah Bumi and Tasyakuran traditions at Petilasan Genuk Kemiri, Kadipaten Pati, Central Java, in promoting social solidarity and preserving cultural identity amid modernization. The main objective of this study is to understand the social and cultural significance of these two traditions, as well as their contribution to strengthening social cohesion and harmony within the community. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, involving data collection through observation, interviews with community leaders, traditional leaders, village heads, and the use of related documents and literature as supporting data. The findings indicate that these traditions not only serve as a medium for cultural preservation but also strengthen social bonds and sustain local cultural values. These practices highlight the strong relationship between cultural habits and the historical awareness that continues to be upheld by the community. The Sedekah Bumi and Tasyakuran ceremonies combine spiritual, historical, and social aspects in a sacred ritual, contributing to the strengthening of cultural identity, social relations, and respect for local history. Based on Émile Durkheim’s theory of social solidarity, this study demonstrates how these traditions enhance a sense of unity and social solidarity through cooperation and collective participation. The involvement of community members in contributing labor, material, or prayers illustrates the importance of these traditions in fostering social cohesion and preserving local culture. This study significantly contributes to the development of sociology, particularly in studies on culture, social identity, community cohesion, and social change. Through an in-depth exploration of the Sedekah Bumi and Tasyakuran rituals, this research enriches our understanding of social dynamics in local communities and emphasizes the crucial role of traditions in shaping social solidarity.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of Transformational Leadership on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among educational staff at the Indonesian Institute of Arts Yogyakarta by examining the mediating roles of Innovative Work Behavior (IWB) and Readiness to Change (RTC). This research employs a quantitative approach, using primary data collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) via SmartPLS 4. The results show that Transformational Leadership has a significant positive effect on OCB, as well as on IWB and RTC. Furthermore, both IWB and RTC act as significant mediators that strengthen the relationship between Transformational Leadership and OCB. These findings imply that educational institutions, especially in higher education, can enhance staff performance and extra-role behavior by fostering transformational leadership, innovation, and change readiness. The originality of this study lies in its integrative framework that introduces IWB and RTC as mediating variables, offering new insights into how leadership shapes organizational behavior through innovation and adaptability mechanisms.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of local coffee commodities and Community-Based Tourism (CBT) on tourist satisfaction in Nglinggo Tourism Village, emphasizing the mediating role of service quality. Adopting a quantitative explanatory design, the study collected data from 150 tourists through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS software. The findings indicate that local commodities, CBT, and service quality each have a positive and significant effect on tourist satisfaction. Moreover, service quality serves as a crucial mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between local commodities, CBT, and satisfaction outcomes. These insights are valuable for destination managers, policymakers, and CBT practitioners seeking to improve service standards, empower local communities, and enhance visitor experiences in village-based tourism. The novelty of this study lies in positioning service quality as an intermediary variable that bridges the cultural-economic contributions of CBT and local products with tourist satisfaction—an approach not widely explored in previous research on educational tourism destinations.

Abstract

This study addresses the urgent issue of democratic governance in Indonesia, particularly the persistent weaknesses in electoral transparency, accountability, and integrity, as evidenced by increasing violations and declining public trust in recent elections. The research aims to examine the patterns of power relations between the National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) and civil society organizations, specifically Pemuda Pancasila and the Forum Komunikasi Anak Betawi (Forkabi), in monitoring the 2024 Presidential Election in East Jakarta, and to assess their influence on electoral credibility and citizen participation. Adopting a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and literature study, then analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal a shift in power dynamics from a hierarchical model to an egalitarian partnership, consistent with the principles of neo-Tocquevillian liberal democracy. This transformation has significantly strengthened civil society’s role as a critical partner of the state in electoral monitoring. The study shows that such collaboration enhances the legitimacy and quality of the election process and serves as a practical model for participatory democratic governance. The practical implication highlights the need for policy development that facilitates cross-sectoral communication, training, and support mechanisms to safeguard electoral integrity and prevent political conflict. The originality of this study lies in its empirical contribution to understanding newly emerging power relations between local government and civil society organizations, shifting away from hegemonic models. By combining field-based evidence, neo-Tocquevillian theory, and a participatory framework, this study offers a novel perspective on the evolving role of civil society in local democratic oversight.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by the General Election Commission (Komisi Pemilihan Umum-KPU) of East Jakarta in enhancing the political participation of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the 2024 regional elections. This research addresses the persistent challenges faced by PWDs in accessing their political rights, particularly the low voter turnout despite a significant increase in their inclusion within the Permanent Voter List (Daftar Pemilih Tetap-DPT). Employing a qualitative approach with an explanatory case study design, the data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis involving KPU officials, disability organizations, and community stakeholders. The findings reveal that although the number of registered disabled voters in East Jakarta rose from 1,568 in 2017 to 17,502 in 2024, only 24% of them exercised their voting rights. Key obstacles include limited access to polling stations, insufficient voter education, and a lack of family and social support. However, several strategic innovations were found to be impactful, such as inclusive voter simulations, collaboration with disability organizations (e.g., PPUAD), social media-based outreach, and field-based data validation. The study contributes to electoral studies by highlighting the importance of dual strategies—offensive (proactive outreach and education) and defensive (protection and facilitation measures)—to empower marginalized voters. Moreover, the integration of digital platforms and community engagement models emerges as a key element for enhancing inclusive democratic participation. Compared to prior studies that primarily emphasized accessibility, this research brings an original focus on institutional collaboration, adaptive strategies, and the sociopolitical empowerment of PWDs within urban election systems. The findings underscore the need for continuous policy innovation and interagency cooperation to ensure meaningful participation of all citizens in democratic processes.

Abstract

Rapid advances in digital technology have led to a significant increase in the intensity of online gaming among children, particularly at the elementary school level. This study aims to examine the psychological impact of online gaming addiction on children in Sidorame Timur Village, Medan Perjuangan District, North Sumatra Province, identify the contributing factors, and explore the response patterns exhibited by parents. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving in-depth interviews and direct observations of eight children aged 11–12 years who exhibit symptoms of online game addiction, along with their parents. Data analysis was conducted using a thematic approach. Findings indicate that online game addiction has negative effects on children's psychological well-being, such as learning concentration disorders, anxiety, sleep dysfunction, and reduced social interaction. Key factors contributing to addiction include poor communication between parents and children, the diversity of evolving game types, and peer social pressure. In response to this situation, some parents have begun to adopt open communication patterns, establish more structured schedules, conduct active supervision, and encourage their children to participate in social and physical activities. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening digital parenting capacity at the family level as a preventive measure against online game addiction. These findings provide practical contributions to the development of digital literacy-based education policies and community-based intervention programs. The uniqueness of this study lies in its in-depth exploration of addictive behavior and parenting strategies in a local context, offering contextual insights into the study of child psychology and education in the digital age.
