Abstract

This research aims to determine: (1) teachers' obstacles in implementing Kurikulum Merdeka in mathematics learning, (2) the efforts made by teachers in overcoming obstacles to implementing Kurikulum Merdeka in mathematics. This research as qualitative. Using interview and observation techniques to collect data. The subjects were representatives of class VII, VIII and IX teachers at pulic middle school in Samarinda. The results of this research show that: (1) teachers experience various obstacles in implementing Kurikulum Merdeka in mathematics learning, namely: (a) constructing teaching modules according to the characteristics of students, (b) determining Proyek Penguatan Profil Pancasila in accordance with the nature of Kurikulum Merdeka, (c) determining appropriate teaching materials, (d) analyzing learning outcomes, (e) understanding the characteristics of different students. (2) Teachers' efforts to overcome obstacles in implementing Kurikulum Merdeka in mathematics learning, namely: (a) teachers carry out diagnostic assessments in overcoming obstacles to adapting teaching materials, (b) teachers carry out learning evaluations and sharing in overcoming obstacles to analyze learning outcomes, (c) teachers carry out learning style assessments in overcoming obstacles to understanding the characteristics of different students. Keywords: Implementation, Kurikulum Merdeka, Mathematics Learning AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) hambatan guru dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka pada pembelajaran matematika di SMP Negeri 1 Samarinda, (2) upaya yang dilakukan guru dalam mengatasi hambatan mengimplementasikan kurikulum merdeka pada pembelajaran matematika di SMP Negeri  1 Samarinda. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data didasarkan pada kehidupan nyata atau alamiah yang ada disajikan dalam bentuk naratif atau uraian. Pengambilan data penelitian ini dengan teknik wawancara dan observasi. Subjek yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah perwakilan guru kelas VII, VIII, dan IX SMP Negeri 1 Samarinda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa : (1) guru mengalami berbagai hambatan dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka pada pembelajaran matematika di SMP Negeri 1 Samarinda, yaitu: (a) hambatan dalam menyusun modul ajar sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik, (b) hambatan dalam menentukan proyek profil penguatan pancasila sesuai dengan sifat kurikulum merdeka, (c) hambatan dalam menentukan materi ajar yang sesuai, (d) hambatan dalam menganalisis capaian pembelajaran, (e) hambatan dalam memahami karakteristik peserta didik yang berbeda-beda. (2) Upaya guru dalam mengatasi hambatan dalam mengimplementasikan kurikulum merdeka pada pembelajaran matematika di SMP Negeri 1 Samarinda, yaitu: (a) guru melakukan assesmen diagnostik dalam mengatasi hambatan menyesuaikan materi ajar, (b) guru melakukan evaluasi pembelajaran dan sharing dalam mengatasi hambatan menganalisis capaian pembelajaran, (c) guru melakukan assesmen gaya belajar dalam mengatasi hambatan memahami karakteristik peserta didik yang berbeda-beda. Kata kunci: Implementasi, Kurikulum Merdeka, Pembelajaran Matematika

Abstract

Mathematics learning in schools is still abstract and not yet relevant to students' lives. Mathematics learning should be linked to student activities such as scouting extracurricular activities. There are many scouting technical activities that can be used as contextualization in mathematics learning such as ceremonies, exploration, estimating, marching, pioneering, and semaphore. Thus, this study aims to identify mathematical concepts contained in scouting activities, especially in the construction of creative flagpole pioneering. This study is a qualitative study with an exploratory approach. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The study was conducted on students who participate in scouting extracurricular activities at SMAN 2 Kendari, located on Jln. Sisingamangaraja, Rahandouna Village, Poasia District, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The results of the study show that in the pioneering flagpole creation building there are geometric concepts, namely rectangular, square, right triangle, acute triangle, obtuse triangle, right trapezoid, isosceles trapezoid, arbitrary trapezoid, right angle, acute angle, obtuse angle, overlapping lines and intersecting lines. and geometric transformations, namely rotation. These results provide recommendations to teachers to be able to use the pioneering building as an introduction to mathematical concepts.

Abstract

This research is conducted to design and developing digital teaching materials on the subject of opportunities for class XII SMA by utilizing the Flip PDF Professional application, as well as assessing as to examine their validity and practicality. The research applies a Design-Based Research (DBR) methodology using Plomp’s model, which includes three phases: initial research, expert evaluation with one-to-one sessions, and small-group plus field testing. Data were gathered using expert validation sheets and questionnaires for students. The results demonstrated that the developed digital instructional material obtained validity percentages of 95% from content experts, and 93.3% each from media and language experts. Student evaluations (one-to-one) yielded an average score of 93.9%, resulting in an overall average of 93.85%, categorized as highly valid. In the field testing phase, the teaching material achieved an average percentage of 83.51% in the indicators of ease of use, presentation, readability, and time efficiency, which falls into the "feasible" category. These findings indicate that the digital teaching material supported by Flip PDF Professional is suitable for use as an engaging, interactive, and student-centered alternative in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop mathematics teaching materials based on an open-ended approach to facilitate computational thinking skills in the topic of polyhedrons. The product developed is a printed teaching material, namely the Polyhedron Module based on the Open-Ended Approach. This research uses the Research and Development (RD) method and employs the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The test subjects in this study were grade VIII-2 students of MTsN 35 Jakarta and eight validators, consisting of three expert lecturers from the Mathematics Education department and five mathematics teachers from SMP/MTs as practitioners. The results of the study showed that (a) based on expert validation, a score of 0.92 was obtained, indicating that the module is very valid; (b) based on practitioner validation, a score of 0.86 was obtained, and the student response questionnaire yielded a score of 0.82, indicating that the module is very practical; and (c) based on the results of the students' computational thinking skills test, 77.42% of the 31 students achieved scores that met the minimum passing criteria (KKM), with an overall average score of 80, indicating that the module is effective in facilitating computational thinking skills. Therefore, the Polyhedron Module based on the Open-Ended Approach meets the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

The ability to think combinatorially is the ability to find solutions to problems in the form of arranging combinations that may be used, which requires a continuous process of critical thinking and reasoning. This research aims to develop a mathematics teaching module on probability material based on the POE (Predict, Observe, Explain) learning model with a simple computer security context to facilitate student’s combinatorial thinking abilities. The development of teaching module uses the ADDIE development model, namely: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection and analysis techniques in this research took the form of validation sheets by experts and student response questionnaires, as well as combinatorial thinking ability test instruments. The test instrument includes 5 main indicators of combinatorial thinking ability, which are tested to 25 students of class XII IPS 1 SMA Negeri 3 Depok. The results of this research state that the teaching module can facilitate student’s combinatorial thinking abilities. The teaching module is also included the the very feasible category based on the validation by experts and receiving positive responses from students.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine students' mathematical procedural fluency in addressing algebraic operation problems through the lens of metacognition. The research is qualitative in nature and employs an exploratory methodology. The instruments utilized in this study include mathematical procedural fluency assessments, metacognitive questionnaires, and interviews. The participants comprised three students from class VII of SMP Muslimin Samarang, each demonstrating fluent criteria in mathematical procedural fluency. The findings revealed that despite sharing the same procedural fluency criteria, the subjects exhibited varying metacognitive criteria: subject S1 displayed strong metacognitive criteria, subject S2 showed moderately strong metacognitive criteria, and subject S3 exhibited weaker metacognitive criteria. Several alternative strategies can be implemented to enhance learning and foster procedural fluency in relation to metacognition, including the use of diverse learning models, the development of instructional materials, the creation of culturally relevant questions, and the incorporation of engaging learning media.

Abstract

Errors in solving math story problems remain a common problem among students. This is due to the lack of in-depth analysis by teachers of the types of errors made by students based on Kastolan's theory, resulting in the same patterns of errors being repeated. Based on this problem, this study aims to identify and describe the types of errors made by students in solving mathematical story problems based on Kastolan's theory. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a sample of 36 students in class X.E6 at SMAN 2 Bukittinggi, selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a story problem test on trigonometry consisting of five questions. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to obtain the percentage of each type of error. The results showed that 21 students (59.44%) made conceptual errors, 24 students (67.67%) made procedural errors, and 22 students (62.78%) made technical errors. Thus, procedural errors were the most dominant type of error made by students. These findings indicate the need for more systematic learning strategies and an emphasis on procedural understanding in solving mathematical story problems.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of the impact of numeracy literacy skills on learning outcomes. In this literacy and numeracy skills are the basis that must be mastered by students as a reference for basic knowledge to know the next learning or material. This study aims to determine the influence of numeracy literacy on mathematics learning outcomes at SMAN 6 Padang. This study uses a quantitative research type using an ex post facto approach. The object of this research is class XII IPS. Data collection techniques use tests. In the research that the author did, there was no treatment like an experiment but rather what it was. This method uses a hypothesis test, namely to find out how much influence the independent variable has on the dependent variable which is carried out using simple linear regression analysis. The data analysis technique uses a paired sample t-test, which consists of the Shapiro Wilk normality test and the Linearity test. Based on the results of the study, analysis and discussion obtained from the one-sample normality test obtained a significance value of 0.076 0.05 while in the linearity test obtained a significance value (sig 2-tailed) of 0.575 0.05 which means that the data is normally distributed and there is a linear relationship. While in the paired sample t-test obtained a significance (sig. 2-tailed) of 0.027 0.05. In the results of the simple regression analysis Y = 50.713 + 0.249X. This means that the constant of 50.713 means that the consistent value of the learning outcome variable is 50.713. The regression coefficient X of 0.249 states that for every additional one unit of numeracy literacy ability value, there is an effect on learning outcomes of 0.249. The regression coefficient is positive so that it can be said that the direction of the influence of variable X on Y is positive. Based on the table above, it can be seen that 31 respondents produced a correlation value of 0.249. therefore, there is an influence of numeracy literacy on mathematics learning outcomes of SMAN 6 Padang.

Abstract

The implementation of e-didactics through the use of various digital tools and platforms in learning requires appropriate assessment techniques and student skills in using them to measure learning outcomes. This study aims to: (1) determine students' ability to solve Complex Analysis exam questions assisted by mathematical computer applications; (2) identify appropriate question formats to measure mathematical problem-solving abilities; and (3) measure the level of resilience and self-awareness of students during the exam. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The researcher aims to explore the role of e-didactics assisted by the Learning Management System (LMS) and mathematical computer applications on the ability to solve analytical questions, resilience, and self-awareness of sixth-semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at a university in Bandung City. The context of this study is when students complete the Mid-Semester Exam (UTS) questions for the Complex Analysis course. The results of the study indicate that: (1) students' analytical abilities are in the sufficient category; (2) appropriate question formats to measure analytical abilities are multiple-choice and essay questions with analytical question types; and (3) the level of self-awareness and resilience of students during the application-assisted mid-term exam was also in the sufficient category. For further research, it is recommended that e-didactic studies not only focus on the evaluation stage, but also be reviewed from the perspective of the entire learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and produce valid and practical teaching materials on circles using GeoGebra for students and teachers in grade XI at MAN 2 Tanah Datar. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) by adapting the 4D development model, which was limited to three main stages, namely Define, Design, and Develop. Data collection instruments included a validation sheet for experts and a practicality questionnaire. The data analysis technique used was a percentage formula for validity analysis and practicality analysis. The results showed that the teaching materials developed had a validity level of 87.12% with a very valid criterion. The level of practicality through trials at MAN 2 Tanah Datar showed an average student response score of 85.13% (very practical) and a teacher response of 79.63% (practical). Based on these results, it can be concluded that this GeoGebra-assisted Circle teaching material is feasible and very practical to use as a support for the mathematics learning process at the school. The implication of this research is the availability of interactive learning media that can help students visualize circle concepts with the aid of technology.
