Abstract

Emotion regulation is an individual's ability to recognise, manage and express emotions adaptively in various life situations. In adolescents, especially high school students in Indonesia, this ability is crucial considering that adolescence is a developmental phase full of emotional and social challenges. This study aims to explore the dynamics of emotion regulation in high school students in Indonesia and identify factors that influence this ability. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with a literature study method that reviewed twenty relevant national and international scientific journals. The selection of journals was based on the suitability of the topic, the quality of the methodology, and its contribution to the understanding of emotion regulation in the context of adolescent education. The results showed that emotion regulation in high school students is influenced by intrapersonal factors, family environment, peer relations, and academic pressure. This study specifically highlights emotion regulation strategies such as cognitive reappraisal, impulse control, and achieving emotional balance in the school environment. The novelty of this research lies in the contextual focus on Indonesian students and the emphasis on the importance of preventive and educative approaches in building emotion regulation skills as part of mental readiness for the future.

Abstract

In an increasingly globalized world, English reading comprehension is an essential skill, particularly for young learners in non-native English-speaking contexts such as Thailand. This study explores the effectiveness of narrative engagement in enhancing English reading comprehension among Thai elementary students through an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design. The research involved 27 fifth and sixth-grade students from a primary school in Satun Province, Thailand. Data were collected through a reading comprehension post-test, a questionnaire, and classroom observation. Quantitative results revealed a high average post-test score (M = 86.67, SD = 8.77), indicating substantial improvement in reading comprehension following the narrative-based intervention. The findings show that students experienced emotional connection, attention, and identification with the stories. The majority of students reported feeling engaged, visualizing the scenes vividly, and relating to the characters’ experiences. These findings confirm that narrative engagement significantly contributes to students’ cognitive and emotional involvement in reading, leading to improved comprehension. The study recommends the integration of narrative texts into English language instruction to foster deeper reading experiences and motivation among young EFL learners.

Abstract

Teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) across cultures presents unique challenges, especially when Indonesian pre-service teachers instruct Thai students who face linguistic and cultural barriers in speaking. Storytelling is recognized as an innovative strategy to enhance fluency, vocabulary, and confidence in communication. This study aims to examine the methodological strategies, barriers, and innovations applied by Indonesian pre-service teachers during the International Teaching Practice Program at Thammasat Wittaya School. Using a descriptive qualitative design, data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana’s (2014) framework. Findings reveal that storytelling served as the main strategy, implemented through teacher-modeled narration, group projects, multimedia aids, and culturally responsive materials. These approaches improved students’ speaking skills, increased participation, and built confidence. However, several barriers emerged, including limited vocabulary, pronunciation difficulties, passive learning preferences, and resource constraints. Teachers addressed these by scaffolding, providing motivational support, and integrating familiar cultural content to sustain engagement. In conclusion, storytelling proved effective in supporting Thai students’ speaking development while helping pre-service teachers adapt to cross-cultural teaching contexts. The study highlights the importance of innovative, student-centered strategies and intercultural competence in preparing future teachers for global classrooms.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendiskripsikan proses penguatan hafalan Al-Qur’an melalui penerapan metode talaqqi dan mudarasah di Ma’had tahfizh Al-Qur’an Nur Aisyah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa metode talaqqi diterapkan melalui tiga tahapan: persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi, sedangkan metode mudarasah melalui empat tahapan: perencanaan, halaqah, sorogan ustadz, dan evaluasi. Faktor pendukung metode talaqqi meliputi lingkungan belajar yang baik, motivasi dari pembimbing dan teman, serta fasilitas yang memadai. Hambatannya berupa kurangnya ketekunan dan rasa malas. Adapun metode mudarasah didukung oleh semangat dan kedisiplinan santri, peran pengurus, kehadiran pengawas, dan sistem absensi yang tertib. Hambatan utamanya adalah kurangnya persiapan hafalan dan tidak hadirnya partner simakan. Secara umum, kedua metode tersebut, khususnya talaqqi, terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas hafalan santri dan layak untuk terus dikembangkan dalam mencetak generasi penghafal Al-Qur’an yang unggul.

Abstract

The demand for innovative approaches in vocational education has increased significantly in the digital era. This study explores the integration of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) with a Virtual Kitchen platform to enhance students’ creativity and entrepreneurial potential in bakery courses. Using a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design with non-equivalent groups, the research involved 52 students divided into experimental (n = 26) and control (n = 26) groups. The intervention combined project-based tasks with virtual kitchen simulations, allowing students to experiment with recipes, simulate product branding, and practice digital marketing in a risk-free environment. Data were collected through creativity assessments, product evaluation rubrics, entrepreneurial attitude scales, and student feedback surveys. Statistical analysis using paired and independent t-tests revealed a significant improvement in both creativity and entrepreneurial readiness in the experimental group (p < 0.001). The findings highlight that integrating PjBL with Virtual Kitchen not only supports technical mastery but also nurtures digital micro-entrepreneurship and innovative thinking. This model presents a transformative strategy for preparing vocational students for the demands of Industry 4.0. Recommendations are provided for further implementation in other culinary domains and the development of more advanced virtual platforms.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir kreatif siswa di SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Medan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah guru PAI dan siswa kelas VIII-3 sebanyak 21 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru PAI memiliki peran yang cukup signifikan dalam mendorong kreativitas siswa, antara lain melalui penyampaian pertanyaan terbuka, pembelajaran kontekstual, serta pemberian ruang ekspresi ide. Siswa merespons positif dengan rata-rata skor tinggi pada indikator berfikir kreatif seperti keberanian menyampaikan ide, keterkaitan materi dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, dan penghargaan terhadap perbedaan pendapat. Namun, masih terdapat keterbatasan dalam penggunaan media pembelajaran dan pemberian tugas kreatif secara menyeluruh. Kesimpulannya, peran guru PAI dalam menumbuhkan kreativitas siswa sudah berjalan baik, namun perlu ditingkatkan dari sisi variasi metode dan fasilitas pembelajaran agar potensi berfikir kreatif siswa dapat berkembang secara optimal.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the extracurricular role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the development of students' social skills and independence at MAS Al-Ittihadiyah Mamiyai Medan. Social skills include the ability to interact with others, which is very important for social life. Through PAI extracurriculars, students not only learn religious aspects, but also social skills such as cooperation, empathy, and communication. In addition, this activity also teaches independence, where students are encouraged to take initiative, manage time, and be responsible. This study uses qualitative methods with literature studies and interviews to analyze the effectiveness of PAI extracurricular in the development of these skills. The results show that this activity has a positive impact on the development of students' social skills and independence, as well as making a significant contribution in shaping their religious character. This research is expected to be the basis for the development of similar programs in other schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan membahas mengenai Pola Manajemen Kepribadian siswa yang mengimplementasi kepada Pola yang di gunakan oleh sekolah, dalam membentuk kepribadian siswa di SMP Harapan 2 Medan. Pola Manajemen Kepribadian siswa mencangkup Kepribadian yang memiliki nilai spiritual, emosional, disiplin, adab serta sosial yang seimbang. Studi kasus yang terjadi pada siswa di SMP Harapan 2 Medan mengarah kepada nilai spiritual yang minim, emosional yang labil, tidak disiplin, adab serta sosial yang masih kurang. Penelitian bertujuan untuk memecahkan permasalahan yang ada pada siswa-siswa yang masih bermasalah terhadap kepribadian siswa yang terhambat oleh faktor internal dan eksternal siswa. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Kualitatif dengan kajian literatur, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi yang dilakukan untuk menyempurnakan penelitian ini. Pola Manajemen Kepribadian siswa ini di sekolah SMP Harapan 2 Medan diharapkan menjadikan siswa memiliki kepribadian yang baik dalam hal nilai spiritual, emosional, disiplin, adab serta sosial yang seimbang sebagai output dari penelitian artikel ini.

Abstract

Pokok permasalahan dalam tesis ini adalah tentang faktor yang mempengaruhi peningkatan Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) guru SMP di Kecamatan Lareh Sago Halaban, yaitu kepemimpinan transformasional dan budaya sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: Dapat mengetahui pengaruh kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah terhadap OCB guru SMP di Lareh Sago Halaban, dapat mengetahui pengaruh budaya sekolah terhadap OCB guru SMP di Lareh Sago Halaban, dan dapat mengetahui pengaruh transformasional kepala sekolah dan budaya sekolah terhadap OCB guru SMP di Lareh Sago Halaban.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasi dengan metode kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui angket yaitu: angket kepemimpinan transformasional, angket budaya sekolah dan angket OCB guru. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua guru SMP di Kecamatan Lareh Sagu Halaban dengan jumlah sampel 84 orang. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi sederhana dan regresi berganda.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan kepemimpinan transformasional terhadap OCB guru. Ini ditunjukan oleh nilai sig < 0,05 untuk uji t (parsial). Selanjutnya temuan kedua membuktikan adanya pengaruh budaya sekolah terhadap OCB guru, juga diperoleh dari nilai sig < 0,05 dengan uji t (parsial). Kemudian temuan terakhir diperoleh adanya pengaruh signifikan kepemimpinan transformasional dan budaya sekolah terhadap OCB guru SMP di Kecamatan Lareh sagu Halaban yang diperoleh berdasarkan uji simultan atau uji F, dengan nilai sig < 0,05. Implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah perlu mengadopsi pendekatan kepemimpinan yang visioner, inspiratif, dan peduli terhadap kebutuhan individu guru. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi strategi pengelolaan pendidikan agama Islam di Muslimeen Suksa School Hatyai, Thailand Selatan, dan dampaknya terhadap pengembangan karakter dan prestasi akademik siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi kurikulum agama dan pendidikan umum, serta penerapan pembelajaran aktif dan berbasis proyek, berkontribusi pada perkembangan intelektual dan spiritual siswa. Evaluasi melalui umpan balik orang tua dan monitoring berkala memperkuat efektivitas strategi pengelolaan sekolah. Studi ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap literatur pendidikan Islam di wilayah minoritas dengan menyoroti pendekatan pengelolaan yang relevan dengan konteks sosial budaya Thailand Selatan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa strategi pengelolaan pendidikan agama Islam yang diterapkan di Muslimeen Suksa School efektif dalam menciptakan lingkungan pendidikan yang mendukung perkembangan akademik dan karakter siswa, serta relevan dengan kebutuhan sosial budaya di Thailand Selatan.
