Abstract

Philosophy of education plays a fundamental role in forming the theoretical foundation for the modern education system. This study aims to examine the development of educational philosophy from the classical Greek era to the modern era, with a focus on its influence on contemporary educational policies and practices. The research method used is a literature study, where data is obtained through the analysis of various relevant literature. The results of the study indicate that modern educational philosophy developed in response to social, political, and economic changes. Several main schools of thought in the philosophy of education, such as idealism, realism, materialism, pragmatism, perennialism, progressivism, reconstructionism, and essentialism, have made significant contributions to forming a more inclusive and adaptive concept of education to the development of the times. These findings also reveal that educational philosophy plays a role not only in designing curriculum and learning methods, but also in shaping the character and moral values ​​of students. By understanding the basics of educational philosophy, the education system can be more effective in accommodating the needs of modern society, and be able to respond to the challenges of globalization and technological advances

Abstract

This study discusses the effectiveness of tafsir learning using the bandongan method at the Al-Kautsar Tanjungpinang Islamic Boarding School. This method is a classic approach in teaching yellow books that has been used for generations. This study aims to analyze the contribution of this method in improving students' understanding of tafsir science and the factors that influence its effectiveness. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews with kyai and students, and document analysis. Data analysis was carried out inductively to understand the effectiveness of the bandongan method in tafsir learning. The results of the study indicate that the bandongan method is effective in improving students' understanding of tafsir. The main factors that support the success of this method include the quality of the teacher, the interaction between the kyai and students, and the active involvement of students. In addition, this method also plays a role in building the character of students through the instillation of strong sanad-based morals and scientific values. However, there are challenges such as time constraints and lack of variation in the delivery of materials. Therefore, innovation is needed so that this method remains relevant to the needs of Islamic education in the modern era. The results of the study show that the bandongan method has proven to be effective in improving students' understanding of interpretation, but it needs to be developed to be more adaptive to current developments.

Abstract

This research is based on the practice of living Qur'an or Al-Qur'an in everyday life Abstract This research departs from the practice of practicing the Qur'an in daily life at the Daarul Ulum Putri Pekanbaru Islamic Boarding School, especially in the implementation of the practice of four surahs (Yasin, Al-Mulk, As-Sajdah, and Ad-Dukhan) which is carried out every Friday night. This research aims to understand the meaning and procedures for implementing these practices. The type of research used is field research with a qualitative descriptive approach within the framework of Living Qur'an. Data collection techniques involve observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the practice of these four surahs is a habit that has become a tradition at the Daarul Ulum Putri Islamic Boarding School, Pekanbaru, which is carried out every Friday night. This activity aims to increase understanding and appreciation of the content of the Qur'an. The students follow this practice with the guidance of the hut caretakers, who explain the virtues and wisdom behind the recitation of the surahs. With this tradition, it is hoped that the students can apply the values of the Qur'an in their daily lives.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the phenomenon of sirri marriage in Grujugan Village and explore the role of multicultural Islamic education in building community legal awareness. Using qualitative methods with a case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. Thematic analysis was applied to identify the factors causing sirri marriages, their impact on individuals and communities, as well as the contribution of multicultural Islamic education in enhancing legal understanding. The research results show that economic, social, cultural factors, and a lack of legal understanding are the main drivers of the sirri marriage practice. The impacts include unclear legal status, potential family conflicts, and social stigma. Multicultural Islamic education plays a significant role in instilling values of tolerance and justice, enhancing understanding of marriage laws, and strengthening individual character and morality. Thus, multicultural Islamic education is expected to be an effective solution in reducing the practice of sirri marriages and increasing legal awareness among the community in Grujugan Village.

Abstract

Social competence is the ability of a teacher who is able to interact with people around him, both with fellow teachers, students, education personnel and also the surrounding community. Social competence is often not considered important by teachers because it is not directly related to the implementation of learning, so there are teachers who show less mastery of social competence. The purpose of this study is to explore the hadiths of the Prophet that intersect with the social competence of teachers. The research method used in this research is a qualitative approach library research model. Data collection through collecting various kinds of literature such as hadith books, articles, and books. The results showed that there are several hadiths that contain social competencies that must be possessed by all teachers, in order to become an ideal teacher for himself, his students, student guardians and also the surrounding community. Like the hadith narrated by Bukhari where, teachers who are patient with the disturbances they receive from social interactions, are better than teachers who avoid associating with their social environment. Then the hadith narrated by Ad-darimi which emphasizes the importance of teachers not looking down on others and not utilizing their knowledge only for the benefits of the world. Given that one of the requirements for being a professional teacher is to have social competence, it is fitting that every teacher master social competence in order to be able to become a professional teacher.

Abstract

Underage marriage in Kedu Subdistrict is still a complex social issue, with the main focus on the fulfillment of children's rights, especially the ḥaḍānah aspect of Wahbah Az-Zuhaili. This research uses a qualitative approach through field research methods, with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of eleven early-age couples registered at the Kedu District KUA for the 2020-2023 period. The results showed that although the couples did not formally understand the fiqh of ḥaḍānah, they practiced parenting based on instinct, social support, and gradual adaptation. The main challenges faced include limited education, economic pressure, and emotional immaturity, but no divorce cases were found in this group of subjects. This finding indicates the potential for successful parenting in underage marriages with the right support. This research emphasizes the importance of a contextualized socio-religious approach and ongoing coaching to strengthen the quality of parenting from a fiqh perspective.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of constructivist theory in the learning of Aqidah Akhlak at MTs Darul Ulum Jogoroto and to analyze its impact on the improvement of students' learning outcomes. The constructivist theory emphasizes the active role of students in building knowledge through interaction with the environment and meaningful learning experiences. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, involving observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The research results show that the application of the constructivist learning model, which involves activities such as observing, questioning, experimenting, reasoning, and actively communicating, is able to enhance students' understanding and learning outcomes in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak. Additionally, the application of methods such as problem-based learning, discussions, and scientific learning creates an enjoyable learning atmosphere and encourages students to be independent in building knowledge. Evaluation is conducted through tests and attitude observations, covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains, which show significant improvements in student learning outcomes. Thus, the application of constructivist theory is effective in improving the quality of Aqidah Akhlak learning at MTs Darul Ulum Jogoroto.

Abstract

The formation of student character is currently very important, especially in creating superior and moral graduates to help a better generation of the nation. The research method is a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The purpose of the study is to determine the efforts made at SMKS Mambaul Ulum Bata-Bata Pamekasan Madura in creating superior and moral graduates with informant sources such as the principal, vice principal, productive, normative and biblical teachers, active students, alumni, public relations, and BKK managers. The results of the study indicate that: 1) Implementation of eight national education standards, namely; content standards, process standards, graduate competency standards, education and education personnel standards, facilities and infrastructure standards, management standards, financing standards, and education assessment standards. 2) The impact of the integration of IMTAQ and IMTEK, namely; the existence of a strong religious culture through guidance and understanding of Islam such as ethical procedures, behavior, and having morality in accordance with the motto of the Mambaul Ulum Bata-Bata Islamic Boarding School. The importance of strengthening students' character must be truly considered in order to form a superior, responsible, and integrity generation to face global challenges by implementing IMTAQ and IMTEK in schools.

Abstract

This article aimed to explore the theoretical basis of etnopolitical influences on the transformation of the Islamic Religious Education curriculum, focusing on integrating multicultural awareness and deep learning approaches. The study used a comprehensive literature review and conceptual analysis to examine how ethnic identities and sociopolitical dynamics shaped curriculum reform in pluralistic societies. The findings showed that incorporating ethnopolitical perspectives into curriculum development fostered inclusive pedagogy that respected cultural diversity while promoting critical, reflective, and meaningful learning experiences. The framework highlighted the need for curricula that not only transmitted religious knowledge but also built social cohesion and character among diverse student populations. The study identified challenges in balancing local cultural identities with national unity and recommended flexible, context-sensitive educational policies and teacher training. Overall, this article contributed to understanding how ethnopolitics informed curriculum innovation, ensuring Islamic education remained relevant and responsive to societal complexities.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited research on the design of learning experiences in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), despite its significant impact on student learning outcomes. The aim is to design an effective and relevant PAI learning experience model to address the challenges of 21st-century education. The method employed is a qualitative approach, incorporating a literature review from 2015 to 2025 and field observations. The results indicate that a holistic, innovative PAI learning experience design, which utilizes digital technology and participatory methods, enhances student engagement, understanding, and internalization of Islamic values, aligning with constructivist, humanistic, and behaviorist theories. In conclusion, the ideal PAI learning experience model integrates contextual approaches, digital technology, active methods, and holistic assessment. The study’s implications emphasize that such a design aligns with key learning theories, requires educators to consider student needs and characteristics, learning objectives, content, and methods, and calls for educators to improve their competencies. Furthermore, the government should provide training for educators and equip facilities to support effective learning. This research also opens opportunities for further studies to explore technology access gaps, develop innovative learning solutions and models tailored to students’ needs, and evaluate technology use to optimize learning outcomes.
