Abstract

The news of the murder of Brigadier J became exciting news in the Indonesian cyberspace in July 2022, which really colored the mass media in Indonesia. From the results of the investigation, Ferdi Sambo was named as the suspect. Previously, Ferdi Sambo said he was just a victim of abuse experienced by his wife. The media began to pay attention to this case. Among them are Viva.co.id and Detik.com. This research aims to analyze how news about Ferdy Sambo is framed in two main online media, namely Viva.co.id and Detik.com. Framing in this context refers to the way the media shapes, organizes and directs people's perceptions of an event or character. The method used is Robert N. Entman's framing analysis by paying attention to Define Problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgments and treatment recommendations. The data source used as material for analysis is news from the two media from July to November 2022. The research results show that Viva.co.id and Detik.com in framing have different approaches in presenting Ferdy Sambo news. The articles written are different but refer to the same theme, namely the Ferdy Sambo case.

Abstract

Social media is like two sides of the eye that can present aspects of use in positive and negative directions. In this research, the author discusses the other side of using social media X, namely cuddle care / love care services. Generally, these service providers are bridged by an alter ego account because it can cover their identity. This research uses data collection techniques using observation techniques and in-depth interviews. The aim of the research is to find out the motives behind cuddle care / love care service subjects and analyze the goals and reasons for cuddle care / love care service subjects in choosing social media. This research paradigm uses phenomenology to explore individuals subjectively and provide understanding of the phenomena they have experienced. The results of the research found that the source's motive for opening a cuddle care/love care service was because of the feeling of emptiness that had been felt and the feeling of needing a friend to tell stories or complain about without any moral burden and being judged, and the source used social media X because the source had the belief that Social media can be freely use as their needs.

Abstract

The presence of the COVID-19 pandemic has created negative impact in all existing business lines. The micro small and medium enterprises sector has been the sector that has been hit the hardest by the pandemic. This has an impact on the income of small bussinessess which shrink so that they cannot afford operational costs and bankrupt. In line with current conditions, Lignum Coffee has also experienced a decline in sales turnover amid the pandemic. Based on this background, this study aims to find out and describe how Lignum Coffee’s integrated marketing communication strategy is in an effort to increase sales. This research uses eight marketing communication with mix models, namely advertising, sales promotion, events and experiences, public relations, direct marketing, interactive marketing, word of mouth, and personal selling. This research was conducted through a qualitative method with a descriptive research type. Data Collection techniques were carried out by observation, guided interviews, and documentation. The result show that Lignum Coffee can implement six marketing communication mixes: advertising, sales promotion, event and experiences, public relations, direct marketing, and word of mouth. The most effective use of advertising is through social media, sales promotion, public relations, and word of mouth to increase sales turnover.

Abstract

In everyday life, we always communicate with various kinds of people from various cultural, educational, economic and social backgrounds, this then makes us carry out intercultural communication. This also happened in one of the Student Activity Units (UKM) of Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo, namely HIMMPAS (Muhammadiyah Student Association of Sidoarjo Nature Lovers). This study aims to analyze the phenomenology of intercultural communication in the adaptation process of HIMMPAS members at Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo. The research method used in this research is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The writing format is in the form of a case study by describing the subject's experiences with the epoch method. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, literacy studies, and interviews. Based on Uncertainty Reduction Theory, assumes that interaction is very important because the purpose of communication is to reduce uncertainty between strangers when meeting and having conversations. This study concludes that intercultural communication occurs among HIMMPAS members when members from Sidoarjo interact with members from outside Sidoarjo as well as between members from outside Sidoarjo and members who also come from outside Sidoarjo.

Abstract

Hotel Moxy Bandung has faced the consequence of decreased guest occupancy compared to the pre-pandemic year. The purpose of this research is to investigate and analyze the event strategy through the Instagram account @moxy_bandung during the New Normal period. According to Kotler and Keller (2013), the Marketing Communications Mix functions to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing communication within the framework of seven communication models. The author focuses on one of these elements, which is the event, and utilizes Instagram @moxy_bandung as a medium to communicate the Virtual Run to Give 2021 event conducted by Hotel Moxy Bandung to boost occupancy and room sales. The research findings reveal that the organization of Virtual Run to Give 2021 possesses favorable characteristics of an event, as described by Shone and Parry (2002), including uniqueness, perishability, intangibility, atmosphere, and personal interaction. The utilization of Instagram also garnered a positive response from the community and followers of @moxy_bandung, as evidenced by interactions on the social media account, including comments, direct messages, and tagging links. Impressions from event participants, who are also followers of the Instagram account @moxy_bandung, were positive and indicated their willingness to participate in similar events when circumstances allow.

Abstract

The MetroLima tabloid has converged by combining two media from print media with internet-based technology, thus creating a new identity, namely MetroLima.Com and MetroLima TV, as well as YouTube and Instagram channels. This step was taken to face business competition and the demands of the times which are all technology-based and of course will adapt to the digital industry. The purpose of this research is to find out how the convergence in the MetroLima Tabloid maintains print media in the current digital era by using technogenic practices in the media amid the Covid-19 pandemic, and how journalistic convergence is applied to the MetroLima tabloid. This study uses a qualitative approach method. Data collection techniques by observation and interviews as well as documentation, the selected informants are editor-in-chief and readers. The results of the study show the newsrom 3.0 convergence model where the news gathering process and content are carried out by one journalist and then to be distributed to all MetroLima Depok tabloid platforms, MetroLimaNews and MetroLima TV as well as MetroLima Depok tabloid social media. The newsroom model is to streamline human resources and summarize work mechanisms. MetroLima tabloid performs convergence using E Grant's theory which refers to 3 dimensions of convergence.

Abstract

Keterbukaan Informasi Public must be implemented by government agencies based on Undang-Undang Nomor 14 Tahun 2018, one of which is the Directorate General of Corrections. The Public Relations Directorate of Corrections plays a major role in maintaining the positive image of the institution, including social media integration which can reach a wide audience. This study aims to determine the optimization in the integration of social media owned by the Directorate General of Corrections as a form of Keterbukaan Informasi Publik based on the 4C concept and The Circular Model of Some for Social Communication, using a descriptive-qualitative method. Interviews were conducted with one key informant and two informants, and results found related to characteristics, stages of management, as well as obstacles and solutions in optimizing social media. Research shown that the Directorate General of Corrections makes Instagram the main media, while other social media such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube as supporting social media for content publication. Time management planning, content themes, collaboration, interactive communication and feature utilization are also carried out to support the information provided through social media.

Abstract

The world is currently entering the Big Data era. Organizations take advantage of this moment and make it a tool for strategic business maneuvers. As was done by the modern Primago Islamic boarding school. All Primago marketing communication activities are mediated by social media. However, until now there is no formula model for setting priorities for their digital marketing communication activities. So the purpose of this research is (1) to find the priority model of choice in marketing communication activities through digital Primago. (2) To find the factors to be considered in designing an integrated digital marketing communication strategy for Primago. Theories that form the basis include Computer Mediated Communication, Information Integration Theory and the concept of Integrated Marketing Communications. The method used is a combination of quantitative and qualitative. The research results obtained are (1) The priority model of choice in designing Primago's digital marketing communication strategy is first managing the Website, simultaneously managing Facebook and Instagram, third managing YouTube and lastly is TikTok. (2) Factors to be considered in designing an integrated digital marketing communication strategy for Primago in building netizen cognitives response include Accessible, Affordable, Connectivity, Costumize and Real Time Measurement.

Abstract

The implementation of public information disclosure in Mukomuko Regency through the Office of Communication and Informatics has been running through the formation of PPID Mukomuko in 2014, but the legal regulations were only formed after the Office of Communication and Informatics was established in January 2017. The purpose of this research is to find out why the Communication and Informatics Office implements public information disclosure and to find out how the implementation process of public information disclosure in Mukomuko Regency is carried out. This research uses a kaulitative approach and case study method, collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the Mukomuko District Government has implemented the dissemination of public information transparently to the public to date, through the establishment of PPID devices (Information Management and Documentation Officers) and routinely conducting evaluations every year.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the dynamics of communication in handling Nagari Sumpur customary land conflicts, communication in conflict management of the Ulayat Land Team, and communication barriers faced by the Nagari Sumpur Ulayat Land Team, South Batipuh District. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. As a reference in processing data, researchers use conflict management theory. The results showed that the dynamics of communication in handling customary land conflicts in Nagari Sumpur had political involvement in it. The local government that took office at that time seemed a bit reluctant for fear of reducing its political votes at the time of the election. In addition, the dynamics of communication in handling customary land conflicts in Nagari Sumpur continue to experience changes in patterns, content and channels. The dynamics of communication can also be seen from the emotional involvement of the communicating party. The Tanah Ulayat Team is in a moderate dynamic which means that the Tanah Ulayat Team communicates well in internal meetings with the team. High communication dynamics occur if external meetings that present all institutions, elements and society. As for conflict management, the Tanah Ulayat Team prioritizes the interests of Nagari by striving and striving so that the objectives in handling Nagari customary land conflicts can be resolved.
