Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how brand image affects, brand awareness, and brand ambassadors on repurchase intention of Scarlett products, with brand attitude as a mediating variable. This research used a causal research design with a quantitative approach. Data was gathered using questionnaires given out to 180 individuals who regularly use Scarlett products in Indonesia.had made repeat purchases, and were aware of Scarlett’s promotions involving K-Pop brand ambassadors. Purposive sampling was the method of sampling that was employed. Using SmartPLS 4 software, partial least squares–structural equation modeling, or PLS-SEM, was used to analyze the data. The findings show that while brand awareness and image have a favorable and considerable impact on brand attitude, they do not significantly affect repurchase intention. Both brand attitude and repurchase intention are significantly and favorably impacted by brand ambassadors. Additionally, repurchase intention is positively and significantly impacted by brand sentiment. Brand attitude strongly mediates the association between brand image and brand ambassador on repurchase intention, according to mediation tests, but it does not mediate the impact of brand awareness. These findings emphasize the crucial role of brand attitude in encouraging repurchase intention, particularly through positive brand perceptions and the effectiveness of K-Pop brand ambassadors.

Abstract

The phenomenon of shopping is an interesting topic from a social and economic perspective. Modern developments have given rise to different perceptions and goals of shopping. One such phenomenon is compulsive buying. This article aims to explain how compulsive buying is practiced by teenagers in Bandung. This paper aims to describe concrete examples and forms of adolescent shopping behavior in Bandung, which demonstrate repetitive behavior to gain certain social status and recognition in society. This study uses Solomon's theory of compulsive buying and James Coleman's theory of rational choice, which states that compulsive buyers are those who like to spend their money on things they don't need. Compulsive buyers will feel anxious if their desires are not fulfilled or if the desired item cannot be purchased. In economic sociology, compulsive buying, which is part of the economic process of consumption, can be analyzed using James Coleman's Rational Choice Theory on the phenomenon of compulsive buying among urban adolescents in Indonesia, offering an interesting perspective: behavior that seems irrational (wasteful/impulsive) is actually a rational and planned action to achieve certain social goals. This descriptive research aims to create a systematic, factual, and accurate description or picture of compulsive buying among adolescents in Bandung City. Based on the analysis, James Coleman believes that compulsive buying among Bandung teenagers is a strategic investment for survival in a city ecosystem that prioritizes the aesthetics of creativity. They exchange their pocket money for validation as contemporary or urban youth. They seek access to creative social circles and a sense of security from the stigma of being out of date in exchange for social recognition within certain friendship circles.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of risk management and strategic control in enhancing the effectiveness of corporate governance in the general insurance industry. Strong corporate governance is a key prerequisite for addressing risk complexity, regulatory requirements, and the competitive dynamics of the insurance sector. This study adopts a qualitative approach using a systematic literature review and descriptive analysis of risk management frameworks, strategic control mechanisms, and corporate governance practices in general insurance companies. Data were obtained from secondary sources, including reputable international journal articles, industry regulations, and relevant corporate reports. The findings indicate that the integration of comprehensive risk management with effective strategic control strengthens oversight functions, improves the quality of strategic decision making, and promotes the implementation of transparency, accountability, and responsibility principles. These findings confirm that the synergy between risk management and strategic control plays a significant role in improving corporate governance quality and supporting the sustainability of general insurance companies’ performance.

Abstract

The minimum capital requirement for insurance companies planned to be implemented in 2026 constitutes a key element of prudential regulatory reform aimed at strengthening solvency and ensuring the stability of the insurance industry. However, this policy may generate indirect yet significant implications for consumer protection mechanisms, particularly through the role of insurance brokers as independent intermediaries. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the impact of the 2026 minimum capital requirement on consumer protection as exercised through insurance brokers, while linking regulatory developments to brokers’ empirical performance conditions during the 2023–2025 period. The research employs a qualitative approach using a juridical-empirical and policy analysis framework, drawing on regulatory documents and high-quality international academic literature. The findings indicate that stricter capital requirements tend to accelerate market consolidation and narrow brokers’ operational space in product comparison, policy negotiation, and consumer assistance. Such structural pressures may weaken brokers’ substantive independence and diminish their effectiveness as consumer protection instruments. The study concludes that consumer protection in the insurance sector cannot rely solely on insurers’ financial strength but must also be supported by a regulatory framework that preserves and strengthens the role of insurance brokers through proportional and risk-based regulatory approaches.

Abstract

Indonesia’s aviation industry plays a crucial role in national connectivity but faces significant challenges from regional competitors offering lower ticket prices. Domestic airlines bear heavier fiscal burdens, including aviation fuel taxes, VAT on tickets, and non-tax state revenues, which increase operational costs and reduce competitiveness. Using a comparative qualitative approach, this paper examines Indonesia’s fiscal policies against those of neighboring countries such as Singapore and Malaysia. Findings show that higher taxation weakens domestic airlines’ market position, while regional carriers benefit from lighter fiscal regimes and subsidies. Policy recommendations include reducing aviation fuel taxes, providing VAT incentives, and subsidizing airport infrastructure to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian airlines.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of profitability, leverage, and company size on corporate social responsibility, with audit quality as a moderating variable, in energy sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2019–2023 period. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from annual financial reports and corporate sustainability reports. The study sample consisted of 18 energy sector companies listed on the IDX, with a total sample size of 95 company financial reports. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that (1) profitability has a significant positive effect on CSR disclosure, (2) leverage has no effect on CSR disclosure, (3) company size has a significant positive effect on CSR disclosure, and (4) audit quality weakens the relationship between profitability, leverage, and company size on CSR disclosure.

Abstract

The phenomenon of corporate sustainability, manifested through Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, has become a global priority, encouraging companies to integrate environmental, social, and governance criteria into their strategies and operations. Pressure from environmental protection organizations and stakeholders has made continuous improvement a crucial topic in corporate management. Positive Relationship between Sustainability and Financial Performance (FC)/Firm Value (FV): Empirical evidence supports the hypothesis that continuous CEP improvement is positively related to both accounting-based and market-based CFP financial performance. In general, sustainability performance has been shown to have a significant positive relationship with financial performance, measured by Return on Assets (ROA) and Market Value (MV/BV). This approach aligns with the social impact hypothesis and the reputation-building explanation. Strengthening Internal Governance (IAQ) in the Digital Age: Encourage research focused on the role of internal governance mechanisms (e.g., IAQ) in verifying ESG data and mitigating the risk of Greenwashing (GW). The literature review should emphasize that managers should understand and use GW as an environmental communication strategy, but should do so carefully and be supported by effective internal audit. Alternative Performance Variables: Encourage the use of more comprehensive alternative financial and sustainability performance variables, such as additional economic and social dimensions within GW, broader corporate governance functions within IAQ, or other metrics such as ROE.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of job involvement from a Human Resource Management (HRM) perspective and its implications for employee performance through a qualitative literature study approach. Job involvement is the level of an individual's psychological attachment to their work, reflected in self-identification, work meaning, and willingness to contribute optimally to the organization. In a dynamic work environment, job involvement becomes a strategic factor in increasing employee productivity and performance sustainability. The research method uses a qualitative literature study by reviewing national and international journal articles, scientific proceedings, and relevant academic books published in the last five years. Data were analyzed using content analysis and thematic synthesis techniques to identify patterns of relationships between HRM practices, job involvement, and employee performance. The results of the study indicate that job involvement plays a key role in bridging HRM practices with improved employee performance. Practices such as job design, training and development, and organizational support have been shown to increase job involvement, which impacts performance, organizational commitment, and innovative behavior. This study concludes that strengthening job involvement needs to be a primary organizational strategy in optimizing human resource management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of business management in encouraging Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jakarta and its surrounding areas to move up to a higher level and enhance their competitiveness in local and global markets. The study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 100 MSME owners in Jakarta and surrounding areas. The variables measured include business management practices—covering financial management, marketing, production, and human resource management—and MSME competitiveness. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that business management has a positive and significant effect on MSME competitiveness. MSMEs that apply more structured and integrated business management practices tend to experience increased revenue, market expansion, improved product quality, and higher levels of managerial professionalism. These findings highlight that the success of MSMEs in moving up to a higher level in urban areas is determined not only by the adoption of digital technology and online marketing, but also by strong managerial capabilities and adaptability to dynamic market competition.

Abstract

In the digital era, public services have transformed through applications such as PLN Mobile. The effectiveness of its complaint feature is influenced by complaint quality, handling speed, and user satisfaction, with digital literacy serving as a moderator. This study aims to analyze the factors affecting the effectiveness of the complaint feature on the PLN Mobile application within the PLN UP3 Cikokol working area.Using purposive sampling, the study involved 120 respondents who are customers of PLN UP3 Cikokol. Data analysis was performed using PLS-SEM with smartpls 4 software. The results indicate that complaint quality, handling speed, and user satisfaction significantly influence complaint feature effectiveness. Notably, complaint quality has the strongest impact on user satisfaction compared to other relationships in the model. Furthermore, digital literacy does not significantly moderate the influence of complaint quality, handling speed, or user satisfaction on feature effectiveness. This suggests that the PLN Mobile complaint feature is sufficiently inclusive, ensuring its effectiveness is accessible to all users regardless of their digital proficiency levels.
