Abstract

This study is aimed to investigate the English learning activities at Nurul Hidayah boarding school in developing students’ speaking performance with their strengths and weaknesses. This research is descriptive qualitative research with triangulation analysis. Methods for obtaining data were carried out through interviews and documentation. English learning activities at Nurul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School are divided into two; activities in the classroom and outside of the classroom. The classroom activities refer to KMI Gontor. The activities outside of the classroom are Daily Conversations, English Video Screenings, English Speech Exercises, and English Contest and Games. The advantages of the activities are that the boarding school already has a good and effective English learning system and method in training the students' English language skills. The student's awareness and interest in speaking English have grown. The language environment has developed. Meanwhile, its weaknesses are that the number of personnel of the language driving organization is still inadequate compared to the total number of whole students. Most of the teachers do not consistent in using English. Outside of classroom activities programs are so limited. Most of the students are tend to use Arabic than English. Most of the students are still facing some difficulties in memorizing vocabulary and in pronouncing English words. The correction systems toward the language mistakes are still low.

Abstract

One of the traditions that flourished since the Jahiliah era is the child's lifting. The same status as a child. Until the episode is changed, it is no longer his biological parents. This article aims to see how the activity of the advisors conducted on other than the biological father is very influential in the survival of the nation's children, both against the inheritance law, the law of guardians, etc. Some interpretations that some of the legal consequences resulting from the adoption of a child are as follows: First, the transfer of maintenance responsibilities for his daily life, the cost of education and so on from the biological parent to his adoptive parents. Second, the adoption of the child does not sever blood relations or nasab with the biological parents and their families, so that between them remains a mahram relationship and an inherited relationship. Third, the adoption of the child does not cause blood relations or nasab between the adopted child and his adoptive parents, so that between them there is no mahrom relationship and inherited relationship. Fourth, Between the adopted child and his biological father remains a mahrom relationship and an inherited relationship.

Abstract

The ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) agreement aims to export and import goods with reduced tariffs of up to 0%. Meanwhile, exports and imports can only be carried out by large-scale entrepreneurs. Traders of locally made children's toys are classified as micro, small and medium enterprises and only get the impact of the flood of toys from China due to the ACFTA. The Pekanbaru City Government's obstacles in protecting micro, small and medium scale entrepreneurs in the trade of artificial children's toys in the city against the impact of the ACFTA agreement need special attention. This is due to the government's unpreparedness in responding to ACFTA including unpreparedness in the construction of infrastructure in the form of a market for MSMEs and guidance on how to export and import goods for MSMEs. Constraints also arise from the condition of entrepreneurs who are not open to the world of free markets. There is no unified organization between traders of locally made children's toys to build a joint venture with big entrepreneurs and become producers who are ready to compete with local Chinese products.

Abstract

This article aims to determine the role of supervisors in implementing managerial supervision and the factors that lead to the low performance of school administrative staff at State Junior High School 5 Bantan. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with the subjects of this study are the supervisor, principal, and head of school administration. All data were collected through observation and interviews. The main informants are school supervisors as well as additional informants for school principals and school administration staff. Based on the description of research data, it is known that the role of school supervisors in implementing managerial supervision is quite good, but its implementation is still not maximal in providing direct guidance to administrative staff. Lack of direct coaching by school supervisors, and lack of cooperation between school supervisors and school principals, as well as a lack of professionalism in the performance of administrative staff, are the causes of the low performance of administrative personnel.

Abstract

Premarital etiquette violations are quite disturbing. Various research results show a high percentage of premarital sex. But various studies also show the influence of religiosity on risky sex. The research aimed to find the relationship between religiosity and violations of premarital ethics among SMA/SMK students in Siak Regency, Riau Province. Description-correlational research methods. The research sample was 223 students. The religiosity inventory of 81 items and 26 inventory items of pre-marital ethics violations were submitted to them. Data analysis used descriptive statistics (%-tase) and regression tests. The result, first, the respondent's religiosity is quite good. Second, the respondents' premarital ethics violations were relatively low. Third, there is an inverse correlation between religiosity and violations of premarital ethics. The higher the respondent's religiosity, the lower the violation of premarital ethics. Likewise, vice versa. The pedagogical implication of this research is that religious education is very important in maintaining the sanctity of SMA/SMK students.

Abstract

This study focused on the use of peer teaching technique to improve students’ mastery on present perfect tense. The research method used was a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research data included the results of the pre-test and post-test regarding the present perfect tense. The data collection techniques used were classroom observation, interviews, pre-test, and post-test. The results of this study showed that the average score of students was 31.2 in pretest, increased from 60.7 in Cycle I to 88.3 in Cycle II. It indicated that the use of peer teaching technique could improve students' understanding in mastering the present perfect tense. This technique can be one of the effective ways for lecturers in teaching tenses especially present perfect tense.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether or not there is a significant effect of Student Team's Achievement Division (STAD) Cooperative Learning on students' fiqh learning outcomes. The form of this research is Quasi Experiment with a Posttest-only Design with a Nonequivalent Group. The subjects studied were 75 students of class VII MTs Masmur Pekanbaru, while the object of the study was the result of learning fiqh. Data retrieval using documentation techniques, tests, and observations is carried out every meeting. The action was carried out six times, namely four meetings using the Student Team's Achievement Division (STAD) Cooperative Learning Type, one post-test meeting, and one practical exam meeting. Research data were analyzed using the t-test formula. The results showed that the Student Team's Achievement Division (STAD) Cooperative Learning had a significant effect on fiqh learning outcomes.

Abstract

Artikel ini berupaya untuk mengetahui deskontruktisitas epistemologi keislaman yang dilakukan oleh Abid al-Jabiri dengan menawarkan nalar barunya untuk bangsa Arab, agar Islam lebih dewasa dan terampil dalam menyikapi modernitas. Disamping itu penelitian ini bertujuan  untuk mendeteksi beberapa kelompok intelektual muslim Arab yang muncul dengan membawa varian “jalan keluar”-nya masing-masing, dalam rangka memberikan sebuah sintesa yang apik di tengah pandangan polaritas Arab-Islam terhadap turats dan modernitas. Dalam pengertian Arab kontemporer, turats lebih berupa warisan intelektual atau sebuah cara mengorganisasi ilmu pengetahuan dan pemikiran Islam. Lebih tepatnya turats adalah sebuah perangkat berpikir kaum muslimin baik dalam tindakan memahami atau pengolahan pengetahuan yang telah dirumuskan dan dibukukan pada masa kodifikasi ilmu-ilmu keislaman. Lain halnya dengan turats dalam wacana Arab klasik yang cenderung memberikan penekanan melalui hukum Islam yang bermakna harta warisan. Ditambah lagi turats memiliki denotasi cara melihat yang menyongsong ke depan, sangat kontras dengan tradisi yang memiliki posisi di masa lampau dan mengandung makna negatif, seperti aktivitas taqlid buta kepada sesuatu secara pasif. Sedangkan modernitas disini sebagai prestasi capaian umat manusia kontemporer dianggap sering menggugat relevanitas Islam dalam menyikapi gagasan-gagasan perubahan yang kerap ia hembuskan. Berdasarkan kajian yang telah dilakukan, hasil menunjukkan bahwa al-Jabiri tidak sekedar mengkritik trilogi nalar Arab (Bayani, ‘Irfani, Burhani) yang diyakini sebagai penyebab keterbelakangan Islam maupun sebatas menolak pendekatan beberapa kalangan intelektual Arab-Islam. Melainkan al-Jabiri memilih untuk bersikap lebih adil dengan mensinergikan ketiga nalar Arab tersebut untuk menjadi pendamping umat Islam dalam kehidupan kontemporer, sehingga tidak ada lagi benturan-benturan mengenai prinsip-prinsip keislaman dengan bayang-bayang perubahan, sebab pada hakikatnya perubahan itu sendiri adalah Sunnatullah.

Abstract

Arabic Grammar is often considered a scourge by the majority of students. This condition has finally received serious attention from various Arabic language activists by presenting a lot of solutions so that students are easy and happy to learn Arabic. This article aims to evaluate the book Al-Lubab Quantum Reading Book by KH. Ahmad Fakhruddin using Mackey's theory. The results of this study are expected to be a recommendation to the author of the book and other authors in compiling a textbook. All data were collected through the documentation method for further analysis and presented through a qualitative descriptive approach. Based on data analysis, it is known that Al-Lubab's book has fulfilled the selection and presentation elements but is still very weak in the aspects of gradation and repetition. Thus, it is recommended that textbook writers should pay attention to all aspects so the material can be studied and understood easily by students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in the numeracy skills of children aged 5 years using a number stick media. The method used is Classroom Action Research with three meetings in two cycles. The stages in each cycle consist of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The research data were collected using interview, observation and documentation techniques. Qualitative data is described in the form of sentences based on categories and quantitative data is analyzed using the percentage formula. Through this study, it was concluded that the number stick media could optimally contribute and innovate in stimulating children's numeracy skills. Children are able to develop the ability to recognize number symbols, call numbers and count number symbols. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the gross motor skills of children at RA Ibn Khaldun Bengkalis increased and were directed according to their age development.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berhitung anak usia 5 tahun menggunakan media stik angka. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan tiga pertemuan dalam dua siklus. Tahapan dalam setiap siklus terdiri dari erencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan refleksi. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Data kualitatif dideskripsikan dalam bentuk kalimat berdasarkan kategori dan data kuantitatif dianalisa dengan rumus persentase. Melalui penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa media stik angka secara optimal dapat memberikan kontribusi dan inovasi dalam menstimulasi kemampuan berhitung anak. Anak mampu mengembangkan kemampuan mengenal lambang bilangan, menyebut bilangan dan menghitung lambang bilangan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan motorik kasar anak di RA Ibnu Khaldun Bengkalis meningkat dan terarah sesuai perkembangan usianya.
