Abstract

This research aims to investigate differences in creative thinking abilities among students in the fifth grade when employing problem based learning versus case based learning in science education. A quantitative research approach was utilized in this study with a quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 23 students from class VA and 20 students from Class VB at SD N 1 Delanggu. Data were obtained through pre-test and post-tests administered before and after the learning interventions. Data analysis was conducted using t-tests. Findings revealed no significant difference between the two instructional approaches (sig = 0.095 > sig 0.05). Consequently, both approaches demonstrate comparable effectiveness in fostering creative thinking skills. This study indicates that educators may employ either PBL or CBL, provided adjustments are made to suit student characteristics and learning objectives. This research may also serve as a reference for other scholars in related fields.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa madrasah ibtidaiyah, penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana membuat bahan ajar yang menekankan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal. Dengan menggunakan studi pustaka kualitatif, berbagai literatur terkait kearifan lokal, pembelajaran di madrasah ibtidaiyah, dan strategi pengembangan bahan ajar dianalisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan unsur-unsur kearifan lokal, seperti cerita rakyat, permainan tradisional, dan kegiatan budaya, dapat memperkaya konteks pembelajaran dan meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa. Namun, ada beberapa tantangan yang dihadapi, termasuk kompetensi guru yang terbatas, kurangnya dukungan dari sekolah, dan kurangnya referensi terkait penerapan kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran. Untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut, diperlukan sinergi antara guru, sekolah, masyarakat setempat, dan pemerintah. Bahan ajar berbasis kearifan lokal memiliki potensi besar untuk menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna dan relevan secara budaya sekaligus berkontribusi pada pelestarian budaya lokal.

Abstract

The Artificial Intelligence in Education training based on deep learning aimed to improve digital literacy, AI understanding, and the ability of elementary teachers to design adaptive learning. The method included needs analysis, hands-on workshops, and pre-post evaluation. Results showed a significant improvement in teachers’ competence in integrating AI, particularly in designing STEAM-based learning tools. This training positively impacted teaching motivation and classroom learning quality. The program supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and the fourth SDG (quality education). Further studies are recommended to assess the impact of AI on student learning outcomes and to develop AI-based LMS tailored to elementary education.

Abstract

This research discusses the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) at SD Ta'mirul Islam Surakarta. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type to analyze the School Literacy Movement (GLS) in improving the writing skills of fifth grade students at SD Ta'mirul Islam Surakarta in 2023. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The GLS program includes team building, short, medium and long term program development, as well as a 15 minute reading activity before class. The school also provides an online library to make it easier for students and teachers to access it outside school hours. The writing skills of class V students can be seen through writing poetry and short stories, with themes involving characters, messages or book synopses. Learners are rewarded for their efforts, and facilities such as libraries provide significant support to the success of the GLS program. Ta'mirul Islam Elementary School produces outstanding students in the field of writing at national level whose work is published in the annual magazine. Teachers can implement the School Literacy Movement (GLS) to improve students' writing skills, while students can utilize literacy practices at school to improve their writing skills. The research results can also enrich knowledge about GLS in schools and become a reference for other researchers who are interested in similar topics. The research results can also be used as input for educators and students regarding literacy activities in schools to improve existing writing skills. Schools should provide special subjects or extracurricular writing as a place for students to develop their writing talents. This research can also be used as a reference for developing similar topics with the same variables.

Abstract

Keterampilan Abad ke-21 menjadi keterampilan yang penting dikuasai agar mampu beradaptasi, berinovasi, dan berkontribusi dalam kehidupan sosial yang kini semakin kompleks. Salah satu keterampilan abad-21 adalah computational thinking. Keterampilan ini membimbing individu berpikir kritis dan memungkinkan pemecahan masalah secara logis, sistematis, efektif, dan efisien. Keterampilan ini tidak datang sendiri, melainkan harus dilatih dengan literasi sains. Permasalahan lebih mudah diatasi dengan mengaplikasikan computational thinking dengan menerapkan keterampilan dan konsep sains yang relevan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan yang positif dan signifikan antara literasi sains dan computational thinking pada peserta didik kelas V SD se-Kecamatan Laweyan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif korelasional. Sumber data penelitian ini yaitu peserta didik kelas V di SDN Totosari, SDN Soropadan, SDN Dukuhan Kerten, dan SDN Ta’mirul Islam Surakarta dengan sampel sebanyak 201 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cluster sampling.  Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes. Teknik validasi yang digunakan meliputi uji validitas, uji konsistensi internal, dan uji reliabilitas. Selanjutnya dilanjutkan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment dengan bantuan SPSS 27. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek-aspek literasi sains dan computational thinking saling berkaitan sehingga meningkatnya literasi sains diikuti dengan meningkatnya computational thinking.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the critical thinking ability of students in terms of cognitive style on the material of division operations of fractions of grade V students of SD Negeri Sondakan. This research is qualitative research with a case study method. The source of data in this study came from fifth grade students of SD Negeri Sondakan. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling by taking 3 subjects from each type of cognitive style. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Data validity techniques using triangulation techniques and time triangulation. Data analysis techniques used in this study using the analysis model according to Creswell. The results of this study indicate that students who have FI cognitive style can fulfil most of the indicators of critical thinking ability although there are students who do not meet the indicators of inference. Students who have FD cognitive style can only fulfil one indicator and some do not fulfil all indicators of critical thinking ability. Students who have FI cognitive style have better critical thinking ability than students who have FD cognitive style. This research implies that it can add insight into efforts to improve critical thinking skills in terms of cognitive style and become a guide for teachers in implementing learning by the cognitive style of students.Keywords: critical thinking ability, cognitive style, field independent, field dependent, and elementary school

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keterampilan berbicara peserta didik kelas V SD IT Wahdatul Ummah Metro Timur. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran role playing berbantuan media komik terhadap keterampilan berbicara peserta didik. (2) untuk mengetahui perbedaan penerapan model pembelajaran role playing dengan model cooperative script terhadap keterampilan berbicara peserta didik kelas. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi experiment. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 125 peserta didik. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, yaitu 34 peserta didik sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 30 peserta didik sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan penilaian kinerja (performance assessment) melalui unjuk kerja yang dinilai menggunakan rubrik keterampilan berbicara. Pengujian data dilakukan menggunakan uji regresi linier sederhana dan uji t. Hasil data menunjukkan: (1) terdapat pengaruh model role playing berbantuan media komik terhadap keterampilan berbicara  peserta didik dengan nilai . (2) terdapat perbedaan pengaruh penerapan model role playing berbantuan media komik dengan model cooperative script terhadap keterampilan berbicara  peserta didik dengan nilai

Abstract

Guru mempunyai peran penting dalam perkembangan kemampuan membaca siswa. Namun, banyak siswa yang memiliki kemampuan membaca kurang baik. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu melakukan upaya-upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran guru dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa kelas I SDN Setono. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara dengan guru, kepala sekolah, dan siswa, serta observasi tidak terstruktur. Analisis yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis kesalahan berbahasa Tarigan yang didukung dengan triangulasi sumber dan teknik keabsahan data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa guru terbukti mampu berperan sebagai demonstran, pengelola kelas, dan mediator dalam kemampuan membaca siswa kelas I dengan baik. Guru menjelaskan materi bacaan permulaan dengan jelas, mengelola kelas dengan suasana dan aturan yang cukup jelas, serta guru juga menggunakan media bacaan permulaan yang cukup bervariasi. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa guru telah berperan cukup baik melalui berbagai upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas I.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the inquiry method in teaching Social Science (IPAS) on the topic of making magnets and to analyze its impact on the science process skills of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres Pannujuang, South Sulawesi. The study addresses students’ low understanding of magnetic force concepts and their practical applications. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The results show that the inquiry method, implemented through orientation, problem formulation, hypothesis formulation, data collection, data analysis, and conclusion stages, effectively improved students’ science process skills, including observing, questioning, experimenting, and drawing evidence-based conclusions. The method also enhanced students’ curiosity, activeness, collaboration, and scientific communication. In conclusion, the inquiry method is effective in fostering science process skills and scientific literacy in primary school students. It is recommended to apply this method to other IPAS topics requiring investigative learning.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the numeracy skills of fifth grade students at SD 2 Pelem through the application of Realistic Mathematics Education approach. Classroom Action Research (CAR) is a type of research. Each cycle contains the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were 18 students and teachers. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, documentation and tests. Data validity testing techniques use source triangulation and engineering triangulation. Data analysis technique uses interactive data analysis techniques with Miles and Huberman model. The research results show that applying RME approach can improve students' numeracy skills. This is proven by the average numeracy test score obtained by students in pre-action of 56.17 with classical completion of 16.67%. Cycle I obtained an average of 75.78 with classical completeness of 66.67%. Cycle II obtained an average of 88.67% with classical completeness of 99.44%. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the application of the RME approach can improve the numeracy skills of class V students. This research adds scientific insight into the application of RME approach, this research also contributes to providing teachers with insight into implementing RME approach, especially in mathematics learning.
