Abstract

Changing the curriculum to become an independent curriculum is based on a condition called learning loss which is caused by the loss of emotional bonds between teachers and students due to distance learning. Implementation of the Independent Curriculum certainly cannot be separated from various problems and challenges. One of them is the readiness of the teacher. This research is included in the descriptive study which aims to describe the readiness of teachers to implement the independent phase of the changing independent curriculum. The subjects in this study were class I teachers and class IV teachers. Data collection was carried out by observation, interview and documentation techniques. The triangulation technique is used as a validity test with the data analysis used, namely the Interactive Technique, the Miles and Huberman analysis model. The results of the study show that, First, in learning planning, of course, there is still confusion because the Independent Curriculum is relatively new, so teachers still need to learn and adapt. Second, judging from the ability of teachers who have not been optimal in implementing independent curriculum learning. in using the learning model the teacher has not fully implemented creative, innovative and enjoyable learning in accordance with the meaning of the independent curriculum. third, in the Free Learning Curriculum, assessment is not so difficult to apply. The implication that arises from this research is that teacher readiness plays an important role in the successful implementation of the curriculum.

Abstract

Education plays a significant role in humans in living their lives. Every individual needs and has the right to undergo education. Education in Indonesia is carried out in stages starting from primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Basic education is held at the elementary school level. Considering that basic education has a significant position, the role of teachers who have good basic teaching skills is necessary. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting research on the application of teachers' basic teaching skills in Civics subjects in class VI at SDN Genengsari 03. The research uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. Data collection instruments consist of observation, interview, questionnaires and documentation. The research results showed that the application of teachers' basic teaching skills had been carried out well. In the first and second observations the teacher had implemented 29 of the 32 components or a percentage of 90.62%. In the third observation, the teacher implemented 31 components with a percentage of 96.87%.. Furthermore, in the interview instrument, the teacher answered the majority of questions well. One question about verbal reinforcement was not answered optimally by the teacher. In the questionnaire instrument, teachers have obtained an average percentage of skills implementation of more than 50% of each component. The obstacles experienced by teachers during implementation are the components of non-verbal reinforcement, variation, and problem expansion. The theoretical implication of this research is that teachers know the extent of their mastery of basic teaching skills. Meanwhile, the practical implication is that teachers can use the research instrument data to find out the extent to which basic teaching skills are implemented in class VI at SDN Genengsari 03.

Abstract

Scientific awareness is an essential foundation that should be developed from an early age to support students’ ability to think logically, critically, and rationally. This study aims to describe the implementation and outcomes of an educational counseling activity designed to foster scientific awareness among elementary school students. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using an educational counseling method conducted at SD IT X Bandar Lampung. The participants consisted of 23 sixth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through classroom observation, documentation, analysis of group work, and students’ written reflections. The results indicate that the counseling activities, which were structured systematically and delivered through interactive and contextual learning stages, positively influenced students’ understanding of the meaning and importance of knowledge, encouraged the development of scientific attitudes such as curiosity and confidence in expressing ideas, and increased active participation during learning activities. Furthermore, group work and reflection outcomes show that students were able to relate scientific concepts to everyday life situations in a simple and meaningful way. These findings suggest that educational counseling can serve as an effective alternative strategy to cultivate scientific awareness from an early stage in elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the use of the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) method and the mathematics learning outcomes of elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative method with a correlational design. The study population was grade II students of SDN 200117 Padangsidimpuan, with samples selected randomly. The research instrument was a questionnaire to measure the application of the CPA method and a mathematics learning outcome test. The results of the study showed a positive and significant relationship between the application of the CPA method and students' mathematics learning outcomes. The results of the Pearson correlation test output obtained that the significance number for the relationship between the use of the CPA method and students' mathematics learning outcomes was 0.000. This means that the Sig. value (=0.000) <α (=0.05) so that there is sufficient evidence to make a decision that there is a significant relationship between the use of the CPA method and elementary school students' mathematics learning outcomes. The closeness of the relationship between the CPA method and students' mathematics learning outcomes is at a Pearson Correlation figure of 0.866. Thus, it can be interpreted that there is a strong positive relationship between the use of the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) method and students' mathematics learning outcomes.
