Abstract

Adversity Quotient (AQ) is basically beneficial for human life, including college students. Having a high AQ will certainly make college students more resilient in the face of difficulties and obstacles that occur in connection with the educational process that they undergo so as to be able to prevent various difficulties that arise such as learning plateau in the educational process being undertaken by college students in various levels of education. The purpose of this study is to look at the possibility of increasing Adversity Quotient (AQ) to reduce student's learning plateau. This research is qualitative research in the form of library research using secondary data obtained from various sources such as books, literature, and articles published in journals. Then the data are analyzed using content analysis or content to understand the existing content of the collected data and integrate it in writing. It is known that there is a possibility of increasing the AQ which will be useful to reduce the student's learning plateau, through Guidance and Counseling services especially Group Guidance services. Integrating other services in the Guidance and Counseling services is also important to get a complete picture of the conditions faced by clients or students.

Abstract

Ideally, humans have sexual desires towards the opposite sex, but what is happening now, there are still many who are not operating in accordance with the norms and cultures in society, someone has deviant behavior, for example lesbians. Currently many cases of lesbians are found in the community, not a few of the lesbians choose to try to be open to parents and demand acceptance. However, on the other hand there are still many lesbians who choose to hide their sexual identities from their parents for various reasons. This study aims to look at the ability of self disclosure possessed by lesbians in their parents. This type of research is a qualitative research in the form of case studies. Subjects in this study amounted to two students using Purposive Sampling (Purposive Sampling) techniques. Data collection instruments used in this study were interview, observation, and documentation guidelines. Analysis of the data in this study through three stages, namely (1) data reduction; (2) data exposure (data display); (3) conclusion drawing and verification (conclusion drawing / verifying). The data analysis technique used in this study was thematic analysis by verifying the interview transcript. The study was assisted by an automatic recording device in the form of a smartphone. The results revealed that all research subjects (lesbians) had low self disclosure, both the amount, valence, accuracy, intention, and intimacy to their parents. Therefore this research is expected to help lesbians increase their openness, and help prevent lesbians from developing by asking for cooperation from various parties.

Abstract

Poor students who have economic limitations have a variety of financial obstacles in living life. The reality is that there are still many underprivileged students with low self-concept. Self-concept is a perspective that every individual has about themselves, including their strengths and weaknesses, in the form of their knowledge, judgment and expectations about themselves. One factor that is thought to influence the self-concept is the social support they get. This study aims to see how the relationship between parental social support and self-concept of underprivileged students in SMP Negeri 6 Solok City. This type of research uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational method, with a sample of 61 underprivileged students of SMP Negeri 6 Solok City, using the Purposive Sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire distributed via the Google forms application. by referring to the Likert Scale. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistical techniques and Pearson Product Moment Correlation techniques with the help of the SPSS program. The results of this study reveal that: (1) Social support of underprivileged parents in general is in the high category with a frequency of 42,62295%, (2) The self-concept of underprivileged students in general is in the medium category with a frequency of 40.98361, (3) There is a significant positive relationship between parental social support and self-concept of underprivileged students with a correlation coefficient of 0.586 with a significance level of 0,000.

Abstract

Independence is an attitude that is owned by someone to do everything themselves (independent), able to make their own decisions and account for their decisions in this case a person has freedom in acting and making decisions, as well as in terms of career planning. Students are able to be independent in career planning. But the reality found there are still some students who do not know the direction of their careers, go along with choosing a career as chosen by their peers, and do not understand their potential to choose a future career. This study aims describe the independence of behavior, and independence of assessment. This type of research is a type of descriptive research. The research population is  students of class XII of six public vocational in padang who were enrolled in the 2019/2020 academic year, amounting to 441 people. Samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique to obtain a total sample of 202 people. The study was conducted by administering the questionnaire instrument. Data were analyzed by percentage analysis. The research findings show the results: the independence of students in overall career planning is in the quite independent category, the independenceof students in career planning viewed from emotional independence is in the categoryof quite independent, the independence of students in career planning seen from the independence behavior is in the category of sufficient independence, and the independence of students in career planning seen from  the independence of assessment is in the category of quite independent.

Abstract

Peer Social Support is a social support that is most needed by students in school. Social support received can make individuals feel more happy, cared for, loved and self-confidence arises. Support provided can be an individual protective factor to prevent and make him avoid academic stress. Academic stress is stress related to student learning activities in school, in the form of tensions experienced by students both the workload, work and student learning demands, so that it affects the physical, emotional, and student behavior. This study aims to reveal a picture of the relationship of peer social support with student academic stress in SMA Negeri 8 Padang. This research is a descriptive correlational study, with a sample of 130 students obtained using stratified random sampling techniques. Data collection instruments used a scale questionnaire which was compiled by itself in data collection using the Google forms application. The results of the study showed a significant negative direction and showed that social support for peers in students at SMA Negeri 8 Padang was in the moderate to high category, and in terms of stress Academic students are in the moderate to high category.

Abstract

Academic procrastination is the tendency of students to postpone and complete academic assignments so that it adversely affects learning outcomes in school. In this case one of the factors that influences academic procrastination is students' self regulation. By having good self regulation, students can manage and manage themselves in completing academic tasks. But the findings in the field are still the existence of students who carry out academic procrastination, and tend to prioritize more enjoyable activities. This study aims to look at the picture of academic procrastination and self regulation of students and determine the relationship between self regulation and academic procrastination of students at SMA Negeri 5 Padang. This research is a descriptive correlational study. With a sample of 279 students selected using the proportional stratifed random sampling technique. Data collection uses self-regulation and academic procrastination questionnaires with a Likert scale model. The results revealed (1) students' self regulation in general was in the high category of 177 people with 63%, (2) the academic procrastination of students was mostly in the low category of 147 people with 53%, (3) there was a negative relationship significant between self regulation and academic procrastination of students of SMA Negeri 5 Padang of -0,706 with a significant value of 0,000. The findings of this study can be a reference for BK teachers in making programs to provide BK services to students.

Abstract

The fact found today is that there are still many students who experience a decrease in self efficacy. Self efficacy is a student's belief about his ability to overcome various situations that arise in his life in the form of difficulty in the task, strength in beliefs and behavior. One factor that is thought to influence this is academic anxiety. Academic anxiety can result in low confidence in students. This can be seen when students cannot reach the target in the near future, students feel anxious about the symptoms of experiencing panic and headaches, and sometimes students tend to give up because they are not sure of their abilities. This research aims to reveal a picture of the relationship of academic anxiety with self the efficacy of Padang 1 high school students. This research is a descriptive correlational study, with a sample of 272 students obtained using simple random sampling techniques. Data collection instruments used a scale questionnaire that was compiled by itself in data collection using the Google forms application. The results of this study indicate that academic anxiety of SMA Negeri 1 Padang students is in the moderate category, and in terms of self-efficacy it is also in the moderate category.

Abstract

Hopelessness is a state of helpless individuals who lose hope about their future. This study aims to describe hopelessness and see the the difference in terms of the criminal period served and the intensity of family visits on female prisoners in LPKA class IIB Payakumbuh. This research uses a comparative descriptive approach. Research subjects in this study were 32 female inmates. The research instrument was a questionnaire about hopelessness with a Likert scale model. Data were analyzed using variance analysis technique (ANAVA). The results showed : (1) Hopelessness of female convicts based on the criminal period underwent namely in the 0-1 year period was in the high category, in the 1-2 year period was in the high category, and >3 years was in the high category, and there were no differences the significant hopelessness of female convicts in terms of the criminal period served. (2) Hopelessness of female prisoners based on the intensity of family visit in the never visited are in the high category, in the group rarely in the very high category, and in the group often in the very high category, and there is no significant difference in the hopelessness of female prisoners in terms of the intensity of family visits. (3) There is no hopelessness of female prisoners in terms of the criminal period served and the intensity of concurrent family visit. Therefore we need guidance and counseling services to help alleviate hopelessness and parent support for female prisoners.

Abstract

Social acceptance in the education process should be able to run well, but in reality there are problems. Inclusive Students get less social acceptance from Regular Students this results in decreased confidence of Inclusive Students. One of the factors influencing the Inclusive Students' self-confidence is social acceptance, therefore, if social acceptance is low, the self-confidence of Inclusion Students is low and vice versa.This article is a literature study that will explain the Regular Students 'social acceptance of Inclusive Students and the Inclusive Students' confidence and their implications for guidance and counseling services. The data source in this article comes from books, articles, research report and written regulations which regulate inclusive education.  Hopefully this article can be a reference.

Abstract

The test is in principle as an evaluation tool to assess how far the knowledge has been mastered and the skills that have been acquired by students. The Final Semester Examination is a form of educational evaluation conducted by students to measure and assess student competencies so that the teacher can determine whether students can continue learning at a higher level or also known as grade promotion. When students face the Final Semester Exams, many students must prepare to start taking care of their body health because the condition of the body is the key to being able to concentrate on studying efficiently, preparing for good mental health, learning to be disciplined and responsible, diligent and centered, as well as serious in learning , study and repeat the lesson as best as possible all the material determined to be tested. Preparation for the Final Semester Examination is any activity or deed carried out by students to prepare for an exam that will be carried out at the end of the even semester or grade promotion test. The purpose of this study is to describe the preparation of students in facing the Final Semester Examination. This research uses the literature study method which obtained the results of previous research regarding the preparation of students in facing the Final Semester Examination.
