Abstract

Tinjauan literatur ini membahas tentang optimalisasi Lesson Study dengan Dynamic Geometry Software (DGS) untuk pengembangan profesional guru matematika. Tinjauan ini menganalisis potensi manfaat dari mengintegrasikan DGS ke dalam Lesson Study sebagai cara untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan konten pedagogis teknologi (TPACK) guru dan mendorong pemahaman siswa tentang konsep-konsep geometris. Tinjauan ini menyelidiki dampak DGS pada berbagai aspek Lesson Study, termasuk perencanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Diskusi menyoroti pentingnya kerangka kerja kolaboratif dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi ke dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran, yang menekankan peran Lesson Study dalam memfasilitasi kolaborasi guru dan berbagi pengetahuan. Tinjauan ini diakhiri dengan menyarankan area potensial untuk penelitian selanjutnya, termasuk studi longitudinal untuk mengevaluasi dampak jangka panjang dari sinergi ini dan eksplorasi lebih lanjut tentang adaptasi Lesson Study dengan berbagai DGS dan konteks pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pengintegrasian nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dalam bahan ajar merupakan cara yang strategis untuk memperkenalkan nilai-nilai moral kepada peserta didik, melalui pengembangan bahan ajar peserta didik dapat berinteraksi dengan masyarakat lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan Bahan Ajar Bahasa Inggris Berbasis Kearifan Lokal yang valid kepada siswa kelas tujuh SMPN 3 Padang Panjang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (RD). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahapan analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi dan evaluasi, sedangkan dalam hal ini peneliti hanya fokus pada tiga tahap yaitu: Analisis, Desain dan Pengembangan. Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan bahan ajar diketahui hasil validasi dengan kriteria 3 ≤ V ≤ 4,5 ditinjau dari aspek penyampaian materi, aspek isi dan materi, aspek tata bahasa dan keterbacaan serta aspek kegrafikan dengan skor validasi akhir. sebesar 4,3 yang memenuhi kriteria valid. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar berbasis kearifan lokal layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar. Peneliti merekomendasikan para guru untuk menggunakan bahan ajar yang terintegrasi dengan kearifan lokal dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Di era globalisasi, kemampuan berinteraksi secara efektif lintas batasan budaya sangatlah penting. Bagi mahasiswa Indonesia, Cross-Cultural Understanding (CCU) merupakan mata kuliah penting yang meningkatkan kompetensi antarbudaya, meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa Inggris, dan mempersiapkan mereka untuk tuntutan pasar kerja internasional. Artikel ini membahas tantangan pengajaran CCU di universitas-universitas Indonesia, khususnya di Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat. Ada beberapa tantangan yang dihadapi oleh dosen CCU di UM Sumbar, seperti kurangnya kemampuan bahasa mahasiswa, kurangnya instruktur terlatih, terbatasnya interaksi budaya yang beragam, dan keterbatasan sumber daya. Dengan memasukkan CCU ke dalam kurikulum program studi Bahasa Inggris, diharapkan mahasiswa akan siap berinteraksi dalam kolaborasi global di masa depan mereka.

Abstract

Sangat sedikit buku pelajaran modern yang menggabungkan aktivitas belajar dan materi ajar untuk meningkatkan kesadaran bahasa. Meskipun diakui secara luas bahwa tugas mendorong peningkatan kesadaran pembelajar untuk menemukan dan memahami bahasa untuk diri mereka sendiri dan pembelajar, bahkan pada tingkat pemula, telah memperoleh kerangka linguistik dan konseptual yang akan memungkinkan mereka untuk mendekati bahasa baru dari posisi yang kuat dari pada ketidakberdayaan dan ketergantungan guru yang dipaksakan. Kecenderungan ini diperkuat oleh keengganan para penulis buku pelajaran untuk menyimpang dari paradigma saat ini menghasilkan pengajaran tata bahasa dan oleh desakan terus-menerus dalam materi praktek tata bahasa untuk menggunakan contoh kalimat tunggal yang 'dimasak' dan didekontekstua-lisasikan sebagai dasar untuk materi latihan mereka. Kajian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan sejumlah hasil pengkajian dari penelitian terdahulu. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa hubungan bahasa, budaya, sikap berbahasa, dan kepekaan bahasa dan budaya dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia sangatlah penting. Hubungan dan keterkaitan semua komponen tersebut dipusatkan dalam menguasai bahasa Indonesia sesuai kaidah tata bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar. Penguasaan kompetensi linguistik, wacana, dan komunikasi serta bagaimana penggunaan bahasa dalam konteks budaya Indonesia.

Abstract

This literature review aims to synthesize the role of the Understanding by Design (UbD) approach in optimizing clinical supervision and reflective learning in the Pre-service Teacher Professional Education. By analyzing relevant literature, this study explores how the UbD framework can enhance the effectiveness of clinical supervision, foster critical thinking, and facilitate reflective practices among prospective teachers. A systematic review methodology was used to identify, screen, and synthesize findings from various academic databases. The results indicate that the integration of UbD in clinical supervision and reflective learning has the potential to strengthen teachers' professional competence, improve teaching quality, and prepare prospective teachers for the challenges of contemporary educational practice. Despite implementation challenges, these findings provide practical implications for strengthening the PPG curriculum and supervision practices in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study explores the perceptions of English Teacher Professional Education (PPG) students toward the integration of the Principles of Teaching and Assessment (PPA 2) course with Field Teaching Practice (PPL 2). Utilizing a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 30 students who had completed both courses during the 2024/2025 academic year at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat. The instrument included four indicators: understanding of PPA content, relevance of PPA and PPL materials, and overall integration between the two. The findings reveal overwhelmingly positive student perceptions. Specifically, the average scores for each indicator were consistently in the high range (Likert scale 4–5): understanding of PPA content (M = 47.59), relevance of PPA to guided teaching practice (M = 47.42), relevance of PPA to independent practice (M = 46.78), and overall integration between PPA and PPL (M = 49.46). More than 67% of respondents selected “strongly agree” for key items, indicating that students perceived the theoretical concepts in PPA as highly applicable in real classroom practice. These results affirm that the integration of PPA 2 and PPL 2 contributes significantly to developing pedagogical, professional, and reflective competencies among pre-service teachers. The study recommends continued alignment between theoretical coursework and practicum experiences to enhance teacher readiness and instructional effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a needs analysis and situation analysis model integrated into language learning curriculum planning. In the context of 21st century education, language learning curriculum is required to be adaptive to the needs of learners, socio-cultural developments, and dynamic literacy competency demands. Therefore, needs and situation analysis are very important initial components in designing a relevant and applicable curriculum. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of document studies, interviews, and questionnaires involving teachers, students, and education stakeholders. The results of the study indicate that accurate student needs analysis, combined with contextual situation mapping (institutional, sociocultural, and policy), can provide a strong foundation in designing learning outcomes, materials, and learning strategies that are more contextual and responsive. This study recommends the development of practical instruments and guidelines that can be used by curriculum developers and language teachers in compiling a curriculum based on real field needs.

Abstract

Error analysis is a method for identifying faults in foreign language learning. This study used error analysis to examine writing errors in descriptive text made by tenth-grade students at SMK N 2 Padangpanjang. It used a qualitative descriptive method and descriptive writing tests as instruments. The sample consisted of 20 tenth-grade students from SMK N 2 Padangpanjang. The aim of this research is to analyze the errors and causes of the errors made by students in writing descriptive text.The results of the study showed that tenth-grade students at SMK N 2 Padangpanjang made 33 errors in their writing. These errors were classified into categories including addition, omission, formation, and ordering. The highest frequency of error was omission (39.39%), followed by formation errors (36.36%), addition errors (18.18%), and ordering errors (6.06%) which had the lowest frequency.

Abstract

This study examines the representation of women in Terusir, a novel by Buya Hamka, through the lens of existentialist feminism. The main character, Mariah, is portrayed as a woman who experiences gender injustice within a patriarchal society. She faces various forms of marginalization, including abandonment by her husband, social stigma, workplace discrimination, physical and psychological violence, and coercion into sex work. Despite these adversities, Mariah is depicted as a strong, independent, courageous, and resilient figure. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through a literature review. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, using literature review and close reading techniques. The findings reveal that the novel not only reflects the social conditions of women during its time but also offers a critique of gender inequality. Furthermore, the novel holds potential as an instructional resource for high school literature education, particularly in analyzing social values and extrinsic elements of literary works. Through the use of Terusir in the classroom, students are expected to develop critical awareness of gender issues and gain a deeper understanding of women's roles in both cultural and literary contexts. Abstract

The purposes of this research are to find out the factors that cause students’ anxiety, the types of student’s anxiety in speaking English and the alternative solutions to overcome student’s anxiety based on student’s perspective at the first year students of English Department in Muhammadiyah University of Sumatera Barat. This research is descriptive-qualitative research. The participants are 10 students who experienced anxiety in the class at first year students of English Department in Muhammadiyah University of Sumatera Barat. The data were taken from the results of open-ended questionnaire and the answers of interview. The results of this research showe that there are 5 factors that cause students’ anxiety in English speaking. The most dominant factors is Lack of Vocabularies, Then the others factors such as Fear of Making Mistakes, Lack of Confidence, Worry about Friends/Classmates Point of View and Types of Task that was Given by the Lecturer have also found. From these factors then three types of anxiety have been categorized. The most common type is Communication Apprehension, then Fear of Negative Evaluation and the least is Test Anxiety. Additionnally 3 alternative solutions to overcome students’ anxiety based on students’ perspective was found out. Firstly is Increase Self Confidence, secondly is Study Hard, and lastly is the Student should have Positive Mindset. Keywords : Speaking, Anxiety.
