Abstract

Aviation security research is a top priority in air transportation operations. The purpose of this study is to analyze the passenger baggage profiling process for safety and comfort, including the inspection and documentation of baggage contents during check-in. However, various obstacles remain in the field, such as a lack of accuracy among officers, limited human resources, and equipment failures that can impact the smoothness and effectiveness of this process. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation conducted during February to March 2025. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, data reduction and data presentation. The study results indicate that the profiling procedure has been carried out according to operational standards, but obstacles remain. Some of the main problems identified include a lack of attention to baggage conditions, passenger objections to the paid baggage policy, label printing machine problems, and a lack of personnel during peak operating hours. Solutions offered include routine officer training, increased passenger education, routine equipment inspections, and additional manpower to support the smooth running of the profiling process and maintain aviation safety standards.

Abstract

Aviation safety is highly dependent on the accuracy of the tools used, including torque wrenches used in aircraft maintenance. This study evaluated the accuracy of the QD2R200 snap-on torque wrench following the ISO 6789-2017 calibration method using the Stahlwille standard. The study was conducted in the Batam Aero Technic calibration laboratory, with torque wrench measurements at their nominal capacities of 20%, 60%, and 100%. Measurements were repeated five times at each nominal point. The calibration results on the two tools in the laboratory showed that the variation in deviation of the tool with serial number 1016901448 reached ±9%, while the tool with serial number 1116802022 had a deviation of less than ±2%. Testing was carried out in clockwise and counterclockwise directions. The t-test showed a significant difference in results between the two tools, namely p = 0.003. These results emphasize the importance of periodic calibration and show that the ISO 6789:2017 method is effective in measuring torque wrench accuracy, which is important in ensuring safety and reliability in the aviation industry.

Abstract

Advances in information technology require companies to continuously improve service quality through effective system integration. GarudaMiles, Garuda Indonesia's frequent flyer program, has implemented various innovations in its digital service system to enhance user satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the effect of system integration on GarudaMiles member satisfaction. A quantitative method was used, with a survey of 50 active GarudaMiles members. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to examine the relationship between system integration variables (ease of access, transaction speed, and data synchronization) and user satisfaction. The results indicate that system integration has a positive and significant impact on member satisfaction. Transaction speed has the most dominant influence compared to other variables. These findings demonstrate that optimizing a well-integrated digital system can enhance user experience and loyalty. This study recommends that Garuda Indonesia continue to evaluate and develop its information technology to maintain and enhance the satisfaction of loyal GarudaMiles customers.

Abstract

This study examines the competitiveness of Indonesia's coffee and cocoa export commodities in the international market from 2009 to 2023 and evaluates their trade positions. By utilizing 15 years of secondary data, the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) method assesses competitiveness, while the Trade Specialization Index (ISP) method analyzes trade growth. Findings indicate that Indonesia demonstrates strong competitiveness in coffee (RCA 4.87) and cocoa (RCA 6.16), ranking second globally after Brazil and the Netherlands, while outperforming Switzerland and Canada. The trade position identifies Indonesia as an exporter in the growth stage for both commodities. These results underscore the substantial potential of Indonesia's coffee and cocoa exports within the global market.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the level of passenger knowledge on the regulation of dangerous goods on Aviation Security rules at Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin Airport in Bima. This study uses quantitative methods in collecting data using the distribution of questionnaires to 100 passenger respondents at Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin Airport in Bima. The results showed that the level of understanding of passengers has a positive and significant influence on compliance with dangerous goods regulations in Aviation Security rules. With a t value of 18.690 which is greater than t table 1.984 and a significance value of 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05, which means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, and the coefficient of determination (R²) shows that the level of understanding is able to explain some of the compliance variables. This study confirms the need for increased socialization and education to passengers to increase compliance for flight safety.
