Abstract

Transboundary haze pollution has become an urgent environmental issue in Southeast Asia. As a regional organization in Southeast Asia, ASEAN issued the ASEAN Agreements on Transboundary Haze Pollution (AATHP) international agreement to handle this Issue together. AATHP will act as a regime that makes collaborating easier to handle this Issue. Indonesia and Singapore are two countries that have a high interest in establishing cooperation because of their position as the two most affected countries. However, even with AATHP making cooperation mandatory, Indonesia is still reluctant and uncooperative in collaborating with Singapore. This research will explain why Indonesia took this stance using Oran R. Young's Theory of the Effectiveness of International Environmental Regimes. This research uses qualitative research methods with secondary data sources originating from reports from both countries, books, journal articles, and online media reports. This research found that Indonesia's uncooperative nature was due to differences in approaches between the two countries in dealing with this Issue. On the one hand, Singapore wants to push for a shift amongst ASEAN countries from slash-and-burn practices to a zero-burning policy as an environmentally friendly approach to opening oil palm plantations. However, factors still force Indonesia to allow slash-and-burn practices to continue in its territory. This research also found that the dispute between Indonesia and Singapore on this Issue has caused tensions that extend to the bilateral relations between the two countries, especially regarding whether or not there has been an encroachment of sovereignty based on the actions taken in dealing with transboundary haze pollution. This research recommends that Indonesia and Singapore explore cooperation in technology transfer with minimal potential for sovereignty encroachment and explore compliance mechanism options based on the principle of non-intervention at the ASEAN level.

Abstract

The researcher raised this Thesis because of the researcher's interest in the strategy carried out by the Samosir Regency KPU to hold a Candidate Debate in the 2020 Samosir Regent and Deputy Regent elections. The Candidate Debate is a stage of the campaign that is highly anticipated by the community to be able to assess the candidate for the leader before giving his choice at the time of voting. The ResearcherResearcher wants to know the strategy for holding candidate debates in the 2020 Samosir regional election. In addition, what are the obstacles for the Samosir Regency KPU in holding a candidate debate event in the 2020 Samosir Regional Election? This research method is qualitative descriptive by presenting the data found comprehensively through in-depth analysis. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques consist of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions drawn. The research results show that the community has not optimally felt the strategy for implementing candidate debates in the 2020 Samosir regional election because the approach of selecting the venue for the implementation and determining the invitation limits public participation. Likewise, the broadcasting strategy of debate events is considered not to be optimal for disseminating the profile, vision, and Mission, as well as the work program of the Candidate Pairs to the Voters by providing comprehensive information to the Voters as one of the Voters' considerations in making their choices.

Abstract

This study analyzes the strategy of planting the Pancasila ideology to prevent terrorism and radicalism in State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). Terrorism in Indonesia is often triggered by the spread of a radical ideology that targets various sectors, including state-owned enterprises, through intolerance, education, and social media. Using qualitative descriptive methods, data were obtained through interviews, observations, and document analysis, then systematically analyzed using the Miles and Huberman technique. The study results show that the factors that cause radicalism in SOEs include low literacy of Pancasila, weak internal supervision, and the influence of social media. The strategy is to instill Pancasila values through socialization, training, and tolerance campaigns involving BNPT, community organizations, and religious leaders. The conclusion of the study emphasizes that a holistic approach based on the Pancasila ideology can prevent radicalism, provided that there is a strong synergy between the government, SOEs, and the community in the implementation of this strategy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze digital transformation in waste management in Bojonegoro Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through literature studies, observations, and interviews. This research is based on the Royyana Theory, which involves five indicators, namely human resources, processes, strategies, structures, and technology as tools to improve performance. The study results show that implementing digital waste banks in Bojonegoro Regency has fulfilled essential aspects of digital transformation. Competent human resources can run the program effectively; the service process is carried out optimally to support work efficiency; digitalization socialization strategies to the community have proven to be efficient and easy to understand; the management structure of the digital waste bank is running well; and the integration of technology has made it easier for people to make transactions digitally. The significance of the results of this study lies in the real positive impact, namely increasing public awareness and participation in digital-based waste management, which ultimately contributes to environmental sustainability. This research shows that digital waste banks can be a relevant innovation model for other regions in supporting digital transformation for ecological management.

Abstract

This study explores public sentiment on Instagram regarding advocacy around the tragic case of Nia Kurnia Sari, a young street vendor brutally murdered in an act of gender-based violence. The case underscores urgent issues of gender inequality and societal responses to violence against women, providing a significant context for this research. Using a critical feminist lens, the study analyzes 251 comments from the Instagram account @KalisMardiasih, employing a mixed-methods approach that integrates quantitative sentiment analysis and qualitative thematic coding. Sentiment analysis, conducted through Python notebooks to automate data processing, reveals that 45% of comments express empathy and solidarity with the victim, while 35% exhibit victim-blaming and skepticism toward feminist advocacy. The remaining 20% are categorized as neutral, including ambivalent statements, requests for more information, or non-committal responses. This neutral category offers essential insights into audience engagement dynamics. Thematic analysis identifies key themes such as solidarity, demands for systemic reform, and resistance rooted in patriarchal norms. Instagram emerges as an empowering platform for feminist advocacy and a contested space where progressive and conservative ideologies collide. These findings emphasize the importance of sustained advocacy and education to combat gender-based violence and advance gender equality.

Abstract

This article or writing aims to understand the process and factors that affect the change of the PP's image, increase legitimacy, and increase public acceptance of this organization after engaging in practical politics. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach through in-depth interviews with senior PP cadres and figures and analysis of organizational documents and related policies. The Resource Mobilization Theory is used to analyze the strategies and resources of the PP in the transformation process. At the same time, the Political Opportunity Structure helps to understand the PP's use of post-reform political opportunities in achieving formal political positions. This study concludes that the results show that PP adopts strategies such as participation in social activities, internal reforms, and strengthening political alliances to improve its image. Although the stigma of thuggery remains, the involvement of PP in social programs is beginning to increase public acceptance. Political and economic motivation is the main driver for PP cadres to enter formal politics, supported by an adaptive organizational structure.

Abstract

This article or paper aims to analyze the role and function of political party witnesses in overseeing vote acquisition and evaluate the effectiveness of increasing the number of witnesses on the results of the 2024 election. This study uses a qualitative research method with descriptive research using primary data collection techniques and secondary data; primary data in this Thesis is obtained through interviews and observations, while secondary data is obtained through books, journals, and the Internet. The study results show that the involvement of PKS witnesses in the 2024 election in Medan City effectively maintains the party's vote acquisition. PKS witnesses are essential in overseeing the voting and vote-counting process, ensuring that PKS vote results at the polling stations they monitor remain safe. The training, coordination, and use of technology strategies implemented by PKS contribute significantly to the effectiveness of witnesses in the field. However, challenges such as intimidation and logistical limitations need more attention to improve the quality of supervision in the next election.

Abstract

This study examines the urban governance policy in relocating Indonesia's capital city from Jakarta to Ibu Kota Nusantara, or IKN, in East Kalimantan. It was driven by Jakarta's problems, such as overpopulation, which limits its capacity to support urban activities. IKN will include biodiversity conservation areas, protected forests, and abandoned mining sites, which require innovative and sustainable urban planning. Furthermore, this study emphasizes creating a bright, green, and sustainable city while preserving 70–75% of the surrounding forest cover. The researcher applies a qualitative method based on a literature review due to the lack of comprehensive secondary data on the ecological and infrastructural conditions of the site. Findings highlight that effective urban governance requires coordinated efforts between central and regional governments, policy harmonization, the integration of digital technologies, and active participation from stakeholders and local communities to ensure environmental and social sustainability in the new capital.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Keluarga Penerima Manfaat (KPM) social assistance program in alleviating poverty in Sumengko Village, Kalitidu District, Bojonegoro Regency, in 2023. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving six respondents. The evaluation utilized William N. Dunn's framework, focusing on effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equity, responsiveness, and accuracy, to ensure credible conclusions. The findings indicate that while the program effectively addresses basic needs by distributing 10 kg of rice per household, limitations in rice availability hinder its adequacy and equity. Uneven socialization and misallocation to ineligible households also impact program accuracy. These findings provide a basis for comparing similar programs in other rural settings and highlight the need for improved coordination and oversight. Beyond poverty alleviation, the program has potential broader impacts on community health and education by enhancing food security and reducing economic stress. This comprehensive evaluation emphasizes the importance of addressing logistical and social challenges to optimize the benefits of social assistance programs.
