Abstract

As technology develops rapidly from era to era, who would have thought that there would still be people who maintain the traditional style in conveying their messages. Parsan, is a traditional poster painter at the Rajawali Cinema, Purwokerto, who has been dedicating himself as a film poster painter for decades. The planning of this documentary film is an effort to appreciate the figure of Parsan. Documentary Film is a film that contains data, facts and actual events about the life and daily life of Parsan, a 57 year old man at Rajawali Cinema Purwokerto which has been established since 1980. The research method used is a qualitative method with 5W+1H data analysis to determine the point of view and perspective used in the storyline. The stages of documentary film production start from research, data collection, data analysis, creating a story synopsis, writing a treatment script, production and then the editing process for the Parsan film. This research aims to design a documentary film that depicts Parsan's life, as the figure behind the manual film poster paintings at the Rajawali Cinema, Purwokerto. The film aims to be a medium for appreciation of the figure of Parsan, who so far not many people know about his dedication. This documentary film has been screened at several film festivals, one of which was nominated at the NETPAC-Jogja Asian Film Festival and received a screening contract with BioskopOnline.id.

Abstract

Setiap anak merupakan individu yang unik dengan perkembangan setiap anak berbeda-beda, ada anak yang mengalami perkembangan cepat dan ada juga anak yang mengalami keterlambatan perkembangan. Keterlambatan perkembangan pada anak tidak bisa disembuhkan, namun keterlambatan pada anak dapat dihindari. Keterlambatan perkembangan pada anak dikarenakan kurangnya orang tua mengenal tanda bahaya bagi perkembangan anaknya sejak dini, dan kurangnya pemeriksaan mendeteksi dini terhadap perkembangan pada anak sejak dini serta kurangnya keterlibatan langsung orang tua dengan anak atau kurangnya stimulasi. Dalam proses untuk menanggulangi keterlambatan perkembangan pada anak diperlukan banyak stimulasi salah satunya dengan gerakan brain gym yang dapat mengoptimalkan perkembangan otak anak. Maka perlu dilakukan sebuah perancangan komunikasi visual mengenai kampenye sosial brain gym bagi perkembangan anak usia dini khususnya di kota Palembang. Dalam proses merancang media, metode perancangan menggunakan metode design thingking yang terdiri dari, empathize, define, ideate, prototype, dan test. Hasil karya yang dirancang dikatagorikan menjadi tiga media, yaitu media utama berupa Board Game dengan gerakan brain gym sehingga memudahkan anak dalam memdapatkan stimulasi, media isu berupa Poster Infografis, Feed Instagram,  Buku Panduan serta media pendukung berupa Kaos Hoodie, Tumbler, Jam Dinding, Buku Gambar, Alat Tulis, Tas, dan Stiker, serta Gantungan Kunci. Melalui perancangan ini diharapkan, sehingga orang tua dapat melihat dan mendeteksi perkembangan motorik anak sejak dini sehingga keterlambatan perkembangan pada anak dapat dihindari.

Abstract

AbstrakKidal merupakan kondisi di mana seseorang menggunakan tangan kirinya dengan intensitas yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan tangan kanannya, sehingga tangan kirinya lebih terampil dalam mengerjakan kegiatan sehari-hari, bahkan sampai sesuatu yang detail. Faktor yang menyebabkan seseorang bisa menjadi kidal yaitu faktor genetik dan kebiasaan. Bagi sebagian masyarakat orang kidal masih menjadi objek yang sering dianggap salah atau tidak baik, sehingga orang kidal sering mendapat hal-hal tidak menguntungkan atau perlakuan yang kurang adil. Hal itu diakibatkan minimnya referensi atau media yang memberi informasi, wawasan, dan pengetahuan mengenai kidal. Tujuan dari media buku Ensiklopedia Kidal ini adalah menambah referensi atau media yang memberi informasi, wawasan, dan pengetahuan mengenai kidal, terutama untuk anak-anak kidal dan orang tua yang mempunyai anak yang kidal supaya mengetahui tentang potensi dan kelebihan yang orang kidal miliki. Metode yang digunakan pada perancangan ini yaitu Design Thinking yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan yakni Empathize (memahami masalah), Define (menganalisis data), Ideate (menghasilkan ide atau konsep), Prototype (memvisualisasikan ide), Test (penerapan hasil ke masyaraakat). Selain buku Ensiklopedia Kidal yang menjadi media utama, perancangan Tugas Akhir ini juga membuat media pendukung lainnya berupa poster, xbanner, pembatas buku, gantungan kunci, kotak pensil, stiker, tshirt, totebag, dan tumbler. Perancangan Tugas Akhir ini juga melakukan sebuah pameran yang diselenggarakan di mall Palembang Trade Center yang berlangsung selama dua hari pada tanggal 28 dan 29 Juli 2023.

Abstract

Sistem Ruang Waktu Datar (RWD) menjadi salah satu teknis penggambaran dari berbagai arah, tempat, waktu yang memperhatikan wimba dan tata ungkapan untuk menghasilkan ilustrasi yang dapat bercerita. Ilustrasi yang dihasilkan terdiri dari beberapa adegan yang menggambarkan suatu kejadian. Selain itu, ditemukannya persamaan antara RWD dan flat design yaitu memiliki gambaran yang terkesan datar. Di sisi lain, terdapat penelitian sebelumnya yang mengembangkan motif dengan sistem RWD menggunakan penggayaan ilustrasi flat design dengan inspirasi Damar Kurung yang menghasilkan komposisi motif berupa motif non-repetitif, lalu pada penelitian tersebut memiliki saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya untuk dapat mengeksplor seni tradisi Indonesia lainnya, serta membuat komposisi tanpa adanya perpotongan. Sehingga pada penelitian ini memiliki potensi untuk menggunakan salah satu inspirasi seni tradisi di Indonesia, yaitu Wayang Kamasan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan bagaimana cara mengembangkan stilasi motif dengan sistem RWD melalui penggayaan ilustrasi flat design dengan inspirasi Wayang Kamasan, serta menciptakan komposisi motif repetitif dengan mengungkapkan adegan cerita. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berupa studi literatur melalui buku, jurnal, dan penelitian sebelumnya, lalu observasi berupa analisa studi visual untuk memahami karakteristik dari sistem RWD, flat design, dan visual Wayang Kamasan, serta melakukan wawancara terhadap illustrator untuk menemukan informasi terkait inspirasi, melakukan studi brand, dan melakukan eksplorasi motif yang memanfaatkan sistem RWD melalui penggayaan flat design dengan inspirasi Wayang Kamasan. Hasil akhir dari penelitian ini adalah berupa komposisi motif repetitif dengan teknik one way yang menggunakan salah satu adegan cerita pada visual Wayang Kamasan. Hasil akhir tersebut akan diaplikasikan pada lembaran tekstil dengan teknik digital printing.

Abstract

This research relates to traditional weaving produced by a group of craftsmen in Mempura District, Siak Regency. This traditional weaving is a cultural identity that has certain characteristics by displaying traditional values that are in accordance with the philosophy that lives in society. This research problem focuses on the forms of traditional woven products and motifs in Mempura District, Siak Regency which were created by craftsmen in the area. Through an aesthetic, form and motif approach, this type of qualitative research in collecting data through written sources, literature studies, documentation and interviews as well as data analysis concluded that traditional weaving in the area has a variety of product forms, decorative motifs originating from various types of plants. plants, animals and names of natural objects. The presence of traditional weaving in Mempura District, Siak Regency has a cultural, social and economic impact on the community.

Abstract

This research explores the phenomenon of acculturation of Chinese building architecture at the Sang Cipta Rasa Grand Mosque in Cirebon, an exciting case of combining Islamic architecture and traditional Chinese elements. The main focus of this research is to understand how Architectural Chinese elements are integrated into the design of mosque buildings in a harmonious and meaningful way. This research method involves a multidisciplinary approach, including literature analysis, visual observations, and interviews with architects and local historians who have in-depth knowledge of mosques and cultural acculturation in the region. The research results reveal that Grand Mosque successfully created an architectural masterpiece that skillfully combines Chinese Architectural elements. Elements such as a curved Chinese- style roof with decorative ornaments reminiscent of Chinese culture, columns, pillars with distinctive traditional carvings, and decorative motifs on the walls illustrate the influence of Chinese architecture integrated into the mosque's design. Despite the strong Chinese influence, this building maintains the essence of Islam and local culture. This research contributes to understanding how cultural acculturation can be reflected in the physical form of buildings, especially in religious contexts. The results of this research can be a valuable reference for the planning and development of future structures that harmonize elements from different cultures while respecting the values and goals of each culture involved.

Abstract

This design stems from the problem of the lack of promotion of museums to children, especially aged 6-12 years in Palembang City. Children's lack of interest in visiting museums is also directly influenced by the development of technology and the internet. Museums also have an educational role in conveying educational missions to children. Through pop-up books, children can imagine museums from a fun perspective. This design aims to provide education and foster children's interest in visiting museums, especially the Sultan Mahmud Badarudin II Palembang museum. which holds a lot of history or history about the city of Palembang. This design uses the 5W 2H (What, Who, Where, When, Why, How, How To Much) data analysis method. The main media used in this design is a Pop Up book, while the supporting media consists of posters, drink bottles, bag hangers, T-Shirts and bag hangers. By designing a pop-up book to introduce the Sultan Mahmud Badarudin II museum, it is hoped that the public, especially children aged 6-12 years and also the nation's generation, will enjoy getting to know the museum interactively through pop-up book visuals and getting to know the history and culture of their ancestors. as a learning medium in the future.

Abstract

The current issue in capitalist societies is the social decisions that often lead to gender imbalance perspective towards women, viewing them as objects or enjoyment for those who hold such equal perspective. Film is one of the reliable mediums for artistic critique that can convey this discourse to today’s younger generation. Therefore, this research analyses the film “Like and Share” (2022) as a representation of artistic critique of the social reality in capitalist society. This film portrays various aspects of social reality due to the gender inequality perspective in capitalist society, such as patriarchal culture, gender stereotypes, women’s exploration, rape culture, and the influence of religion in daily life. The research method used is qualitative with descriptive analysis of scenes and dialogues in the film. The result shows that this film successfully reflects the social reality of capitalist society and the influence of capitalism in the film industry. Thus, this film is effective as a medium of artistic critique of the social reality of capitalist society in the context of the Indonesian film industry. Abstract

This study aims to examine how art activities in elementary school can affect students'' art skills. To answer this question, the author conducted test by organizing a musical drama performance for high school students at SD Laboratorium UPI Cibiru. The researcher used qualitative method with observation and journal review techniques used to process data from the test results that have been carried out. The results showed that there is an impact of art activities. The test results also revealed that students have access to channel their skills in art through the organized performance activities. However, the visible potential was not followed up by the school in developing it into a competency. Abstract

The many aisles with various types of goods in Borma Setiabudi make appropriate signage and wayfinding systems as well as visual identity very necessary so that visitors can find the goods they want easily. This is important for managing visitors, especially new visitors who are trying to find the items they are looking for when shopping. This research aims to analyze the visual identity contained in the signage that has been installed in Borma Setiabudi using a qualitative descriptive method, data was collected through direct observation in Borma complete with documentation of the signage. This research produces a comparison of existing signage in Borma Setiabudi with the criteria and regulations for making signage, apart from that, it also includes a comparison of relevant research results which also discuss visual identity and signage systems for other shopping centers in the Bandung area. This research resulted in the need for a plan to create a signage system that complies with regulations and standards in Borma because the existing signage does not meet the existing criteria. Adjustment and rework of signage is necessary to convey it more effectively to visitors.  Keywords : Visual Identity, Signage System, Shopping Center
