Abstract

This study examines the role of Field study as a reflective learning strategy in developing teaching competence among postgraduate students in Islamic Education Management. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, the research involved 16 master’s students who conducted face-to-face teaching practice over one academic semester. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and analysis of teaching videos used in structured Video Review sessions. The findings reveal that the integration of Video Review within the Field study program functions as a critical reflective mechanism that transforms teaching practice into a process of pedagogical self-awareness and professional learning. Beyond improving pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies, Video Review enables students to critically evaluate their verbal and non-verbal teaching behaviors, classroom interactions, and instructional decision-making in an objective manner. This reflective process fosters metacognitive awareness, strengthens professional identity, and embeds the Islamic educational value of muhasabah (self-introspection) as a foundation for continuous professional development. This study contributes conceptually by positioning Video Review not merely as an evaluative tool, but as an integral model of reflective learning in Islamic higher education. The findings extend the discourse on reflective teaching by offering a contextualized framework for developing competent, reflective, and value-oriented educators at the postgraduate level of Islamic education.

Abstract

Administrative performance as part of the school’s managerial function plays an important role in shaping students’ perceptions and levels of satisfaction. In addition, the quality of educational services has been proven to be a dominant variable that significantly affects student satisfaction; therefore, the quality of educational services is the main determinant of satisfaction among users of educational services. This study aims to determine whether administrative performance and the quality of educational services have a positive and significant effect on student satisfaction The research method used is an associative quantitative approach with a cause-and-effect relationship. The research population consisted of 243 eleventh-grade students of SMK Unggulan NU Mojoagung Jombang, and the sample was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan table, resulting in 152 respondents. Data collection techniques included questionnaires and documentation, using instruments that were established and tested through validity and reliability tests. Data analysis employed multiple linear regression to test the hypotheses both partially and simultaneously using SPSS 20.0 for Windows. The results of the study indicate that:(1) Administrative performance has a positive and significant effect on student satisfaction, as shown by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a t-value of 16.667 > t-table of 1.655. Thus, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, with a contribution effect of 0.097 or 9.7%. (2) The quality of educational services also has a positive and significant effect on student satisfaction, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a t-value of 21.843 > t-table of 1.655, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, with an effect size of 0.681 or 68%. (3) Simultaneously, administrative performance and the quality of educational services have a positive and significant effect on student satisfaction, as evidenced by an F-value of 244.637 > F-table of 3.06 with α = 0.000 < 0.05.

Abstract

The dynamics of changes in madrasah management demand the implementation of Islamic education management that is adaptive and oriented towards improving quality. This study aims to analyze the practices of Islamic education management in enhancing the quality of education at MAN 3 Ngawi, as well as to identify key factors that influence the effectiveness of madrasah management. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type, conducted directly at MAN 3 Ngawi. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observation, and document study, with main informants being the head of the madrasah, the vice principal, and teachers. The research results indicate several key findings, namely: (1) the implementation of participative and visionary leadership by the head of the madrasah plays an important role in improving both academic and non-academic quality; (2) madrasah program planning that integrates Islamic values with modern management principles can enhance the effectiveness of educational activities; (3) human resource management through professional development of teachers and educational staff contributes to improving the quality of learning; and (4) the continuous implementation of program evaluation and control serves as a supporting factor in maintaining the consistency of madrasah education quality. This study contributes to the study of Islamic education management by providing an empirical overview of the management practices of public madrasahs that are contextual and applicable. Reflectively, the research findings affirm that the improvement of education quality in madrasahs is determined not only by the completeness of the managerial structure but also by the ability of the leaders and all madrasah members to internalize Islamic values into professional and sustainable management practices.

Abstract

Digital transformation in archive management has become a strategic necessity to support the effectiveness of administrative governance and the accountability of public organizations in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including in the education and religious sectors. In response to this demand, the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Sidoarjo Regency has implemented the SRIKANDI application as an integrated dynamic archiving information system. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the SRIKANDI application and identify the challenges encountered in the digital archive transformation process. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results indicate that the implementation of SRIKANDI significantly improves archive management efficiency, accelerates administrative processes, and strengthens institutional accountability and transparency. Theoretically, these findings contribute to the development of studies in educational management and public administration by emphasizing that the success of digital archive transformation is determined not only by technological aspects but also by organizational readiness, human resource capacity, leadership support, and the cultivation of digital work culture. This study enriches the perspective of information system-based educational management by positioning digital archive management as a strategic instrument in enhancing the quality of governance in government institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of dormitory supervisors in student management to improve the discipline of male students at the Miftahul Huda Majenang Islamic Boarding School. The focus of the study is directed at the guidance strategies, supervision patterns, and mechanisms for managing students' daily activities as part of student management practices at the Islamic boarding school. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The research results show that student discipline is formed through the integration of three main elements: intensive, role-model-based guidance, a structured, multi-layered supervision system, and consistent time management. Complex supervisors act as key actors connecting institutional rules with students' daily practices, so that discipline is not merely coercive but internalized in students' behavior. These findings indicate that the effectiveness of student management in Islamic boarding schools is largely determined by a combination of structural controls and cultural approaches. This study concludes that the role of dormitory supervisors is a strategic element in building a sustainable student discipline system. Theoretically, this research contributes to the development of Islamic boarding school-based student management studies by offering an integrative model of guidance, supervision, and role modeling. Practically, these findings can serve as a reference for Islamic boarding schools in designing effective discipline management systems.

Abstract

Improving the quality and competitiveness of madrasahs is a strategic challenge amid increasingly competitive educational competition. One effort carried out by madrasahs is through the implementation of an acceleration program based on the Semester Credit System (SKS) for high-ability students. This study aims to analyze the management of the acceleration program in enhancing the quality and competitiveness of madrasahs at MTsN 1 Kediri, covering aspects of planning, implementation, evaluation, as well as the challenges and solutions of its implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, with informants including the head of the madrasah, program managers, teachers, and students. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, as well as testing the validity of the data using triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the management of the acceleration program at MTsN 1 Kediri is implemented systematically and continuously, marked by structured planning, adaptive learning implementation according to the characteristics of the students, and program evaluation oriented towards improving both academic and non-academic quality. The acceleration program has been proven to make a significant contribution to enhancing student achievement and strengthening the school's competitiveness at the regional level. The main challenges include managing study time and improving teacher competence, which are addressed through professional training and strengthening institutional collaboration. This research has implications for enhancing Islamic education management practices, as well as providing practical contributions as a model for managing acceleration programs that can be replicated by other madrasahs to improve the quality and competitiveness of institutions.

Abstract

This study analyzes the adaptation of transformational leadership in the process of institutional transformation at Pesantren Daarul Muta’allimin Ciamis. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the leadership of the kiai does not merely function as traditional charismatic authority but evolves into an adaptive leadership model that integrates moral exemplarity, visionary communication, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration as strategies for strengthening pesantren management. The main finding underscores that transformational leadership serves as a key mechanism in bridging pesantren traditions with the demands of modern educational governance, particularly in program development and the preparation for establishing formal educational institutions. Theoretically, this study extends the discourse on Islamic educational leadership by positioning transformational leadership as a model for pesantren institutional adaptation. Practically, the findings offer strategic references for pesantren management in responding to institutional change while preserving Islamic identity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the complexity of brand equity and formulate a managerial repositioning model for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Darussalam Pikatan as a private Islamic primary education institution operating in the competitive education arena in the Blitar region. This study uses a mixed methods approach with a parallel convergent design, integrating qualitative data (in-depth interviews, observations, document studies, and focus group discussions) and quantitative data (parent perception surveys). The results of the study indicate that MI Darussalam Pikatan is in a position of being stuck in the middle, squeezed between MIN 14 Blitar, which has state-based legitimacy, and SDI Hasyim Asy’ari, which is strong in symbolic capital and religious community ties. Through perceptual mapping analysis and SWOT-TOWS synthesis, this study identified a managerial repositioning model that emphasizes building alternative legitimacy based on measurable performance and Islamic character education that is contextual, inclusive, and modern. This model positions brand equity not merely as a marketing tool, but as a strategic management framework that integrates signature programs, the enhancement of academic and character quality, evidence-based communication, and the strengthening of the parent community. The novelty of this research lies in the formulation of the repositioning of Islamic educational institutions, which shifts from reliance on structural or charismatic legitimacy to performance-based and contextually relevant legitimacy. Conceptually, these findings contribute to the development of Islamic education management by emphasizing that the competitiveness of madrasahs can be built through the integration of Islamic values with modern managerial strategies that are adaptive to the dynamics of the education market.

Abstract

The Indonesian government has included coding and AI in the national curriculum to improve students' digital literacy, but there are obstacles to implementation in disadvantaged areas. This journal aims to identify barriers ranging from technological infrastructure readiness and teacher competence to socio-cultural aspects that affect the implementation of coding and AI learning in disadvantaged areas. The method used is a qualitative literature study with thematic analysis of various reliable sources to obtain a comprehensive overview and strategic solutions. The results show that limited electricity, internet access, and technological devices are the main obstacles, accompanied by a lack of teacher training and a curriculum that is not adaptive to local conditions. In addition, the gap in students' digital literacy and socio-cultural attitudes are also hindering factors. The gap between the idealism of national policy and the reality on the ground is an important focus that has not been studied in depth. Previous studies have mostly described general obstacles without taking into account the specific geographical and socioeconomic factors of disadvantaged areas. Contextual implementation strategies, intensive teacher training, optimization of alternative infrastructure, and the involvement of various stakeholders are considered key to the successful equitable distribution of technology learning in disadvantaged areas. This study makes an important contribution to the development of inclusive and equitable technology education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The concept of Unity of Science has developed as an important paradigm in efforts to overcome the dualism of knowledge that still influences the governance and quality of Islamic educational institutions. This dualism has an impact on the fragmentation of institutional management, the learning process, and the relevance of graduate competencies. This study aims to analyze the application of the Unity of Science as an integrative paradigm in the governance and quality management of Islamic educational institutions, not limited to the curriculum aspect alone. This study uses a qualitative approach based on literature studies with descriptive analysis of sources in the form of scientific journal articles, academic books, and relevant policy documents. The research stages include a review of the theoretical basis of Unity of Knowledge, mapping of the concept of Islamic education governance, and an integrative analysis of the relevance and implementation of this paradigm in a managerial context. The results show that Unity of Knowledge can function as a conceptual framework that strengthens institutional governance through the integration of spiritual values, scientific rationality, and professional practices in education management. This research confirms the theoretical contribution of the Unity of Knowledge as a comprehensive paradigm for the governance and quality improvement of Islamic educational institutions. In conclusion, the application of the Unity of Knowledge paradigm has the potential to improve the quality of Islamic educational institution management to be more adaptive and systematic.
