This scientific journal was published by Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Pertanian (STIPER) Amuntai. Started to be published at the end of 2011 with the frequency of publishing twice a year, in June and December. Editorial staff receives writings from scientific research, both in the form of research and empirical research in fields related to Agrotechnology and Agribusiness. Editors can abbreviate and improve writing without changing the intent and contents through the editing process by the Editor Team. Abstract

This research aims to determine the availability and need for rice commodities in Hulu Sungai Utara Regency. The type of data used is quantitative data in the form of time series data for the last 5 years, namely from 2017-2021. The availability of rice by sub-district per year in North Hulu Sungai Regency fluctuates (ups and downs). The area with the highest amount of rice availability is Babirik District, while the lowest amount of rice availability is Paminggir District. Meanwhile, the annual demand for rice according to sub-districts in North Hulu Sungai Regency also fluctuates (ups and downs). Banjang District is a district where the demand for rice is increasing every year. The area with the highest demand for rice is in Central Amuntai District. Meanwhile, the district with the lowest demand for rice is in Paminggir District. Overall, North Hulu Sungai Regency is classified as experiencing a rice surplus. Of the 10 sub-districts in Hulu Sungai Utara Regency, there are 9 sub-districts that experience a rice surplus and 1 sub-district that experiences a rice deficit, namely Paminggir District.

Abstract

Fish is a perishable food so special handling is required to maintain its quality. Post-harvest handling of agricultural and fishery products is an activity downstream agribusiness subsystem. Post-harvest handling has an impact on selling prices. This Research aims to analyze the added value of the processing of milkfish (Chanos chanos) into “Amplang” (Indonesian traditional snack) in Rampa Manunggul Village, Sampanahan Subdistrict, Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan Province. Data analysis in this research used the Hayami method. Data was collected using the case study method on Amplang processing business "Sinar Laut". The results of this research show that based on the Hayami method analysis. The added value of milkfish processing in the "Sinar Laut" amplang business is IDR. 101,226/ kg of raw materials with a business owner's profit of 65.02% and a value added ratio of 72.30%, the value added ratio is included in the high category, because the value ratio is more than 40%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) Farmers‘ perception of sustainability in the selection of superior Mekongga rice varieties (cognitive, affective and conative) and (2) The difference in farmers’ income before and after using mekongga rice seed varieties. This research was conducted in Durian Gantang Village, Labuan Amas Selatan District, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency. The research method used a survey using a questionnaire to collect sustainability perception data from 105 farmers who used Mekongga varieties with Likert Scale data analysis. Farmers' income data before and after using this rice variety Mekongga was also collected and analysed using the independent t-test. Farmers' perception of sustainability in the selection of superior rice variety Mekongga in Durian Gantang Village, Labuan Amas Selatan Sub-district, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency is in the Good category. Cognitive components with good criteria, affective components with good criteria and conative components with good criteria. This shows that farmers have a positive perception in the selection of superior Mekongga rice varieties to support agricultural sustainability. In addition, there is a significant difference in farmers' income before and after using the Mekongga variety (sig 0.000 <0.05). The average income of farmers before using the Mekongga variety was Rp. 5,848,547.62 to Rp. 6,873,233.33 after using the Mekongga variety, with an average increase of Rp. 1,024,685.71 per one harvest. This shows that the use of Mekongga rice variety can contribute positively to the farmers' economy.

Abstract

The cayenne pepper plant commodity is a strategic agricultural commodity, has high economic value and a wide market share. The cultivation of cayenne pepper plants in West Kotawaringin Regency is generally carried out by farming households. A farming household is a group of people who live in part or all of a building and generally eat together from one kitchen with the head of the household working in the agricultural sector. The formulation of the problem in this research is whether the workforce in cayenne pepper farming is experiencing a shift to female farming workforce. In answering the research objective "to identify whether there is a shift in agricultural work among women farmers" using qualitative descriptive methods. In cayenne pepper farming in South Arut District, cayenne pepper farmers use male labor and female labor. The number of female workers used is 53.48% of all existing activities. In general, the number of hours women work in farming is more, but these women farmers work only in certain processes that do not require a lot of physical effort, such as the harvesting process, the irrigation process, the planting process, caring for seeds, additional fertilization, planting and sowing.

Abstract

Curd is one of the functional foods because it contains Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) as probiotic bacteria that are very beneficial for the health of the body which has been processed and consumed by the Minang people for decades. The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of different parent parities on pH values, protein content, fat content, calcium content and total colonies of buffalo milk curd bacteria in Solok Regency. The method used in this study was an experiment using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments, namely Parity 2, Parity 3 and Parity 4 with 5 replications. The results showed that the effect of parent parity did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on the pH value of buffalo curd. significantly affected the protein content of buffalo curd (P<0.05). significantly affected the fat content of buffalo curd (P<0.05). significantly affected the calcium content of buffalo curd (P<0.05) and did not significantly affect (P>0.05) the total colonies of buffalo curd bacteria.

Abstract

Lowland swamps are lands that are periodically inundated and only used once a year. Floating cultivation can be an alternative to this land. Swamp vegetation can be utilized as organic fertilizer for planting vegetables with shallow roots such as bok choy. This study aimed to 1) determine the effect of organic fertilizer dosage on the growth and yield of bok choy on floating cultivation systems in lowland swamps; 2) Understanding the effect of types of organic fertilizers on the growth and yield of bok choy in floating cultivation systems in lowland swamps. This study used a two-factor nested design with an environmental design of a three-loop complete randomized design (CRD). The first factor was the type of organic fertilizer (J), consisting of three types, namely chicken manure (j1), water hyacinth compost (j2), and ajakan compost (j3). The second factor was the fertilizer dosage (D) which was nested in the type of organic fertilizer, consisting of 4 (four) levels, namely 15 t ha-1. The research was conducted in Sarang Burung Village, Danau Panggang District, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency from September 2019 to April 2020. Observations were made on plant height (cm), the number of leaves (blade) photosynthesis rate (plant growth rate), The results indicated that organic fertilizer types, namely chicken manure, water hyacinth compost, and ajakan compost, and organic fertilizer dosage (15 tha-1) did not affect all variables except pakcoy growt and yield because the condition of the growing media in a state of water saturation so that the decomposition process of organic matter is inhibited.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan menguji pengaruh eco enzyme, media tanam, dan interaksi kedua faktor perlakuan terhadap hasil tanaman bawang merah varietas Tajuk Thailand dari umbi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan di Jl. G. Obos Induk km 5,5 no.144, Kelurahan Menteng, Kecamatan Jekan Raya, Kota Palangka Raya. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor perlakuan I yaitu eco enzyme yang terdiri dari 5 taraf dan faktor perlakuan II yaitu media tanam yang terdiri dari 3 taraf. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tunggal eco enzyme tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap seluruh parameter pengamatan. Perlakuan tunggal media tanam berpengaruh terhadap jumlah daun usia 30 HST, tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, jumlah umbi per rumpun, berat basah umbi per rumpun, berat kering umbi per rumpun, berat basah per umbi, diameter umbi, sedangkan pada interaksi kedua perlakuan berpengaruh terhadap jumlah daun usia 21 dan 30 HST, serta jumlah umbi per rumpun.

Abstract

Green beans are one type of food crop as a source of vegetable protein that has advantages in terms of agronomy and economy compared to other beans. The study aims to determine the effect of chicken manure, banana peel LOF and the interaction of the two treatment factors on the growth and yield of green beans in sandy soil. Held in September 2024-December 2024 at Jl. Aggrek, Gang Damai, UMPR Campus II Complex, Kereng Bangkirai Village, Sebangau District, Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan. The study used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replications and 2 treatment factors, the first treatment: chicken manure with 3 levels: 10, 15, 20 t ha-1 while the second factor was the provision of banana peel LOF concentration with 3 levels, namely a dose of 40 ml LOF / 200 ml of planting water, 60 ml LOF / 200 planting water, 80 ml LOF / 200 ml of planting water. The results showed that the treatment of chicken manure had a significant effect on growth variables in the form of plant height and number of leaves and had a significant effect on the yield variable in the form of dry seed weight per planting. While the treatment of banana peel LOF had an effect on the growth variables of plant height and number of leaves and had an effect on the yield variable in the form of the weight of 100 dry seeds. Furthermore, the interaction of the two factors of chicken manure and banana peel LOF treatment had a significant effect on the yield variable, namely the variable of dry seed weight per planting.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the growth response of crystal guava (Psidium guajava L.) plants to the application of NPK 16-16-16 fertilizer doses and types of planting media in sandy soil. The study was conducted for five months (August 2024–January 2025) at Campus III Land, Muhammadiyah University of Palangka Raya. The method used was a two-factor Randomized Block Design (RAK) Factorial with four replications. The first factor was the dose of NPK fertilizer (10, 20, 30, and 40 g/plant), and the second factor was the planting media (soil + manure + sawdust and soil + manure + rice husk charcoal). The parameters observed included plant height, number of leaves, and stem diameter. The results showed that the administration of NPK 16-16-16 had a very significant effect on the three growth parameters. The optimal dose for plant height and stem diameter was 20 g/plant, while the optimal number of leaves was at a dose of 40 g/plant. Rice husk charcoal planting media gave better results than sawdust. There was no interaction between fertilizer and planting media on all

Abstract

Buffalo milk fermented into curd is one of the functional foods because it contains Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) as probiotic bacteria that are very beneficial for body health that have been processed and consumed by the Minang people since ancient times. The purpose of this study was to test the nutritional content of buffalo milk curd, namely the pH value, protein content, fat content, and total colonies of buffalo milk curd bacteria stored in the freezer with different storage periods. The method used in this study was an experiment using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments, namely without storage of curd, frozen storage for 7 days, 14 days and 21 days. The results showed that the effect of the frozen storage period of buffalo milk curd in the freezer had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on the pH value of buffalo milk curd, protein content of buffalo milk curd, fat of buffalo milk curd and total colonies of buffalo milk curd bacteria. While in the content of organic matter and dry matter there was no significant difference.
