Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of digital literacy on the learning outcomes of students of the Educational Technology study program at the Indonesian Christian University of Toraja. Research is a quantitative research type of experiment. This research was conducted at the Indonesian Christian University of Toraja Education Technology Study Program. The sample of this study is all Educational Technology students class of 2021 consisting of 49 students. The total number of samples used was 49 students, using non-random sampling techniques. The results of this study used descriptive analysis and inferential analysis using SPSS 22. The results obtained in this study that in the use of digital literacy of students in producing learning is very releva. From the results of this research, it can be stated that it is significant for student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This article discusses the use of Social Media and Networking (SMN) as an Educational Tool for Higher Education in Indonesia. Technology has been an integral part of our life and it cannot be separated from the education sector either. This article examines the history of Social Media and Networking in altering thy way people communicate, before proceeding to examine its use in Education in general. This article will first discuss about the current situation of SMN and Higher Education (HE) in Indonesia. Definition of what SMN is and the types will be described as well. It will then present the promise and the challenges of utilizing the SMN for HE, as well as the current debates on this issue. There have been considerable discussions and debates regarding the implementation or the benefits of utilizing SMN into the education sector, especially in Indonesia. The question whether the use of SMN in education will bring more benefits than drawbacks, remains as a widely debated topic. This article will examine opinions from scholars and scholarly journals about the topic before comparing them with the context within Indonesian education sector. It will then present the promise and the challenges of utilizing the SMN for HE, as well as the current debates on this issue. Finally, some considerations and suggestions will be provided at the end of the article.

Abstract

Knowledge of English is very important nowadays. in the world of education, a teacher must be creative in choosing teaching materials. Therefore, this must be supported by the skills of the teacher and the suitability of the media in teaching. The purpose of this research is to find out whether the use of the learning house application can make it easier for teachers and increase students' interest. Rumah Belajar portal is a medium that can help teachers and students in the teaching and learning processThe data collection technique in this study is the process of collecting and processing information to evaluate results and use them for research. The research sample consisted of 20 students from eight grade. The results of the analysis The application of English learning material sources from the Rumah Belajar portal is very helpful for teachers in teaching English at SMP Satap 8 Baraka. This can be seen from the results of observations and interviews. The observation results show that teachers are successful in their performance to present their material, have a good influence on influencing students to follow their instructions, create good communication during sharing time, and make the class active. In addition, the results of the interviews showed that the teacher gave positive comments on the implementation of English subject matter sourced from The Rumah Belajar portal.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to find out whether or not reciprocal teaching technique improve the students’ reading skill of the tenth-grade students of class X 1 at SMA Negeri 4 Makassar. This research applied a pre-experimental with pre-test and post-test design. The population was the tenth-grade students of class X 1 at SMA Negeri 4 Makassar, in 2023/2024 academic year. The population consisted of 49 students where the sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The research data were collected by pre-test and post-test on speaking test and analyzed by using IBM SPSS 23 version to see the significant difference between pre-test and post-test. The results of the research were the application of reciprocal teaching technique significantly improved the students’ reading skill. The researcher concluded that reciprocal teaching can be the alternative choice for teaching English at SMA (Senior High school).

Abstract

Using English for tourism branding and promotion in Indonesia effectively enhances Indonesia's appeal as a tourist destination. This study aimed to investigate the use of English for tourism branding and promotion in Indonesia. It was qualitative research with a case study approach involving domestic and international visitors and local communities as informants. The data collection method was questionnaire distribution, semi-structured interviews, observations, and photos. In analyzing the data, the researcher conducted 6 steps from preparing raw data (transcripts, field notes, images, etc.), organizing and preparing data for analysis, reading all data, coding data (themes or descriptions) by hand or computer, linking themes/descriptions, and then interpret its meaning from the theme/description. The findings presented that participants tried to use English in tourism objects to practice their English language skills, to improve speaking confidence, and to provide the best service for tourism image and branding. However, Indonesian people face some problems when speaking, resulting in a limited selection of sentences like "How are you." The challeges were solved by involving smartphone-based technology, such as Google Translate platform when communicating. This study may contribute to the acceleration of Second Language Acquisition (SLA) and encounters an impact on boosting proficiency in English as a foreign language, especially for enhancing speaking, which encouraged tourism growth in Indonesia

Abstract

The growing knowledge about edupreneurship in tertiary institutions, makes the goal not only to lead students to become entrepreneurs but more to form the character of edupreneurship, including EFL students. This study aims to elaborate on how to implement edupreneurship by EFL students in the Indonesian context. This descriptive research method uses a qualitative, semi-interviews with two focals participants, due to their experiences as business owners in the world of entrepreneurship education, also have received edupreneurship courses in college. The author wants to see how they implement their business and related to EFL. The findingsfrom interview sections showed that in implementig edupreneurship had varius aspects, the managerial and process, further other aspects appeared also, like environment, technology and of course an entrepreneurship course, took an important rules in running the bussiness. In terms of EFL, edupreneurship get involved in. By this finding, of course, the business they are currently running can be a trigger for other students who want to start passions in the world of edupreneurship. Abstract

Geometri merupakan cabang ilmu yang mempelajari tentang hubungan antara titik-titik, garis- garis, dan bidang-bidang serta bangun datar dan bangun ruang. Dalam penerapan matematika geometri sangat membantu dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penerapan matematika khususnya geometri dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sangat banyak sekali. Peranan geometri yang bisa digunakan yaitu pada pembuatan rumah. Dalam perkembanganya, rumah sebagai tempat berlindung dan memiliki beragam bentuk, ukuran dan desain. Salah satunya adalah rumah panggung yang mempunyai sejumlah kelebihan, di antaranya sebagai anti banjir, aman terhadap binatang buas, halaman lebih luas, tahan gempa, kesan tradisional yang kuat, bentuknya unik, dan interior lebih sejuk. Salah satu peranan geometri pada rumah panggung yaitu rumah adat Toraja atau biasa disebut Tongkonan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hasil eksplorasi dan peran etnomatematika terhadap pola geometri pada rumah adat tongkonan di Toraja. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi dengan pengambilan data berupa observasi, wawancara, catatan lapangan serta dokumentasi.

Abstract

Competent human resources will support the achievement of the university's vision and mission, while incompetent human resources will hinder the achievement of short, medium and long-term work targets, so that in the end it will hinder universities from developing and may even experience a decline. Lecturers as the spearhead of academic activities are faced with high job demands, apart from carrying out teaching, community service, and research, some lecturers also occupy structural positions which of course require managerial competence in order to carry out their duties optimally. This study aims to see the suitability of the competencies possessed by lecturers as structural position holders with the competencies required for the position. This study uses a competency assessment method consisting of tests and non-tests. The test form of assessment uses the CFIT, DISC, Kraeplin, Graphic and Warteg tests, while the non-test form uses interviews, observation, case studies and Leaderless Group Discussion. The subject of this study was a lecturer who served as head of the study program, male, 50 years old. The research results show that Mr. M has competencies that meet the requirements, namely integrity, interpersonal skills, customer focus, building business partnerships and driving execution. Meanwhile, the 4 competencies that still need to be improved to fulfill the position requirements as chair of the study program, namely change leadership, achievement orientation, empowering and innovation creativity. Steps that can be taken to improve these competencies include job assignment and mentoring methods.

Abstract

This research is entitled Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) Method on Students' Reading Comprehension Motivation at Mataram University of Technology. The purpose of this study was to overcome the low reading comprehension motivation of the second semester students of the Informatics Engineering study program at the Mataram University of Technology. This study used an experimental method design as a research design. This is the simplest design that examines two treatments, where each treatment is varied into two treatment levels. The experimental group consisting of 22 students was given treatment using the CIRC method, while the control group used conventional methods in the teaching and learning process. In applying the CIRC method to the experimental group, the researcher divided students into small groups consisting of 4 to 5 people per group, then students carried out the stages of implementing the CIRC method. Data collection was obtained based on the results of the pre-test, post-test, results of filling out questionnaires and observations during the learning activities. The data were processed using SPSS and the results were analyzed using a descriptive statistical model where the research data were presented and described based on data obtained from observations, questionnaires, interviews, pre-test and post-test results, and conclusions were obtained regarding the success rate of applying the CIRC method. The results showed that the average score of students in the post-test showed greater results when compared to the achievement scores in the pre-test, namely (79.50> 62.01. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that the CIRC method is effectively applied to students' Reading Comprehension learning in English courses and the application of the CIRC method to the learning process can increase student learning motivation.

Abstract

The Effectiveness of Augmented Reality (AR) in Elementary School Science Learning Concepts. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of Augmented Reality learning media on the mastery of the science concept of fifth grade elementary school students at SD Shipyard IV. The method in this research is experimental. The research population was all fifth grade elementary school students in Shipyard IV-VI with a total of 105 students and 39 students as a sample. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Treatment using Augmented Reality learning media for 6x meetings. Data collection was carried out by the test method. The test instrument consisted of 30 multiple choice questions on environmental material. The use of Augmented Reality learning media can easily visualize the addition of virtual objects into a real environment and help students imagine objects from various points of view thereby improving the learning process and student learning outcomes. The increase can be seen from the results of the N-Gain test in the pretest and posttest which were 0.74 which was included in the high category, and the Paired sample T-test obtained a significant level of 0.00 < 0.05 (effective). The results of the study show that there is effectiveness in the application of Agumented Reality media to the mastery of science concepts in fifth grade elementary school students at SD Shipyard IV.
