Abstract

This study examines the relationship between perceiving a calling and intention to stay among volunteers of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Jabodetabek, with the mediating role of living a calling. Through a quantitative approach and the Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modelling (CBSEM) method, data from 350 respondents were analyzed. The results showed that perceiving a calling has a significant influence on intention to stay, and living a calling strengthens the relationship. Managerial implications include the importance of programs that align with volunteers' intrinsic motivation, recognition of contributions, training, and the creation of a supportive work environment. This study is limited to the Jabodetabek area with a small sample size. Further studies are expected to cover a wider area and use mixed methods to enrich the results. This study provides practical insights for NGOs to improve volunteer retention through a calling-based approach.

Abstract

Human resources play an important role in the development of the hotel sector in Banten Province. So that good governance needs to be considered by all hotel management, especially for the management of star hotels which have experienced a decline in visitors over the past three years, one of which is the result of the low quality of human resources of hotel employees. For this reason, this research was conducted as a step to determine strategies to improve employee organizational citizenship behavior in the hospitality sector. Of the three alternative strategies tested using the AHP analysis method, among others, alternative strategy 1 is a policy to improve the positive work environment through recognition. Alternative strategy 2 is a policy to improve the positive work environment through recognition and alternative strategy 3 is a policy by giving full attention to employees and providing constructive feedback. The results showed that the alternative strategy with the highest priority scale to improve OCB is an open and sustainable communication policy strategy between leaders and employees. While the second priority scale is with the Policy strategy by giving full attention to employees and providing constructive feedback. While the last priority scale is with a policy strategy to improve the positive work environment through recognition. Through increasing the sense of trust (trust) by paying attention to the indicator of trust in teamwork as the most dominant indicator. This can be improved through increasing group competence in the common goals of the organization. Increase open, honest communication between employees, and create a work atmosphere that can support collaboration among employees.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of overall service quality on patient satisfaction and their intention to recommend aesthetic clinics, emphasizing the role of six quality dimensions measured as a higher-order construct (HOC). Understanding the influence of comprehensive service quality is crucial in aesthetic clinics, where patients seek more hedonic experiences rather than medical treatment. A survey was conducted among patients visiting aesthetic clinics, and Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with a disjoint two-stage approach was used to examine the relationships between the six reflective dimensions of service quality as lower order construct (LOC), namely technical, procedural, interactional, personnel, infrastructural, and social support with the outcomes of patient satisfaction and intention to recommend. The findings reveal the dimensionality of the service quality model in the aesthetic clinic context. In particular, overall service quality, measured as HOC, significantly influences patient satisfaction, which in turn positively affects the intention to recommend. Among the dimensions, technical quality and social support were critical in shaping patient perceptions and driving satisfaction. The model demonstrates robust explanatory and predictive power, with an R² value of 0.745 and Q²_predict of 0.679 for intention to recommend. A cross-validated predictive ability test confirms the model's predictive accuracy. Novel to this research is the comprehensive inclusion of quality dimensions, reflecting the complexity of service delivery in aesthetic clinics. The disjoint two-stage approach provides enhanced insights into the relative contributions of LOCs, highlighting technical quality, social support quality, and interactional quality as critical drivers of overall service quality. These findings offer actionable recommendations for managers to optimize service quality and encourage clinic recommendations.

Abstract

This research investigates the influence of airport experience on passenger satisfaction and the perception of green image at Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). The study utilizes the Experience Economy Theory, examining the roles of entertainment, education, aesthetics, and escapism in shaping passenger satisfaction and contributing to YIA’s green image. Data were collected from 327 passengers using a structured questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to analyze the relationships between the dimensions of the airport experience and their impact on passenger satisfaction and green image. The results indicate that educational and escapist experiences significantly enhance both satisfaction and green image, whereas entertainment and aesthetic dimensions have a less significant impact on the perception of YIA’s sustainability efforts. This study provides insights for airport managers on how to improve airport experiences and green initiatives to foster stronger passenger loyalty and environmental awareness.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the management of school governance, focusing on the effectiveness and efficiency of study time management, and the role of collaboration between parents and the school as a moderating variable in managing juvenile delinquency stress. The research was conducted at MTSN 2 Semarang City with a sample of 75 respondents. Data analysis was performed using SPSS. The findings revealed that the effectiveness of study time management had a negative and insignificant impact on the collaboration between parents and teachers. In contrast, the efficiency of study time management was found to have a positive and significant effect on the collaboration between parents and teachers. Furthermore, the effectiveness of study time management had a significant negative impact on stress management and juvenile delinquency, while efficient study time management positively and significantly influenced both stress management and the reduction of juvenile delinquency. These results suggest that effective time management can help reduce emotional and academic stress and improve adolescent behavior. However, the study found that collaboration between parents and teachers did not significantly influence stress management or juvenile delinquency. This indicates that although effective time management can directly affect these outcomes, the collaboration between parents and teachers does not act as a mediator in this relationship. The study suggests that the collaboration between parents and teachers may be more focused on academic or disciplinary matters, rather than directly addressing stress management or juvenile delinquency.

Abstract

The efficacy of managing higher education institutions is influenced by a multitude of factors, among which human resource management holds significant importance. Both individual and collective behaviours within the workforce play a substantial role in shaping the institution's performance. Individual workplace behaviours, which can be evaluated through levels of job satisfaction, are classified into four categories based on whether they are constructive or destructive, and active or passive. A focal point of this study is the concept of voice behaviour. Research concerning human resources within higher education often centres on performance metrics or other elements directly associated with their core responsibilities, defined under the Tri Dharma of higher education. This study encompasses all lecturers actively engaged in teaching at X University, spanning across various ranks and qualifications. Participants were grouped into several demographic categories, namely: gender, age, highest educational attainment, and academic position. The objective of this research is to characterise the constructive behaviours of lecturers and examine the variances across these demographic groups. The analytical approach employed involves analysis of variance (ANOVA) and hypothesis testing through the t-test
