Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing investment decisions among MSME owners in Yogyakarta, focusing on financial literacy, financial behavior, and income. While financial literacy and behavior have been widely studied, research on their impact on MSME investment decisions remains limited. The study involved a sample of 136 MSME owners selected using the Hair method and simple random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that financial literacy does not significantly affect investment decisions, whereas financial behavior and income have a positive influence. The better the financial behavior and the higher the income, the more likely MSME owners are to invest. Therefore, improving financial management skills and increasing income levels are crucial factors in encouraging investment decisions. These findings provide valuable insights for MSME owners and stakeholders in developing strategies to enhance investment in the MSME sector.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of public debt on Nigeria's macroeconomic indicators, including real gross domestic product (RGDP), unemployment (UNEM), interest rate (INTR), and inflation rate (INFR), from 1980 to 2020. The study utilises the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) bounds testing approach for cointegration, and the nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) bounds testing approach. The cointegration analysis reveals a notable symmetric and asymmetric cointegrating relationship, both in the long run, between public expenditure (both external and domestic) and the chosen macroeconomic variables. In addition, the ARDL model demonstrates that Domestic Debt (DD) raises national output but reduces UNEM and INFRs significantly in the long term. However, the results suggest that External Debt (ED) raises UNEM and INTR in the country in the long term. The NARDL model indicates that the positive component of DD raises national output. The study reveals that both domestic and ED have long-term effects on national output, with negative debt reducing UNEM and INTR, and positive ED reducing inflation. Given these results, the federal government should decrease excessive borrowings due to their detrimental impact on macroeconomic indicators in the short and long run. Generate more revenue through tax increment rather than borrowing, diversify the economy into areas like agriculture and mining rather than depending on oil and borrowing, and reduce the leakages (corruption) in the system through effective and efficient use of the anti-graft agencies in Nigeria.

Abstract

The quantitative results from the application of the reverse engineering approach showed a reduction in extraction costs by $1.8, compared to the target reduction of $3.8. Meanwhile, the total cost per oil barrel increased to $27, exceeding the target cost of $25.2 per barrel. Oil production in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 3.6%, reaching 3,323,800 barrels by the end of January 2023. The average oil price in 2022 was $94 per barrel. Based on these figures, the profit margin after achieving the target cost reduction is $94 – $25.2 = $68.8, resulting in a total profit of 3,323,800 × $68.8 = $228,677,440. The reverse engineering approach in reducing production costs helps increase profit margins and supports oil-based economies in generating higher revenues, thereby contributing to the promotion of economic growth in oil-exporting countries. As an innovative tool, the application of reverse engineering in production cost reduction demonstrates a significant impact on promoting economic growth in oil-exporting economies.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of a powerful narrative on brand engagement among Tokopedia users, focusing on the mediating roles of customer perception and content engagement. Using a quantitative research design and structural equation modeling (SEM) via Smart PLS, data were collected from 150 management students in Bandar Lampung who use the Tokopedia platform. The findings reveal that emotional engagement and message consistency significantly enhance the perception of a powerful narrative, which in turn positively influences customer perception and content engagement. Both customer perception and content engagement serve as critical mediators, amplifying the narrative's effect on brand engagement. These results suggest that a well-crafted narrative, reinforced by emotional resonance and message consistency, can deepen customer loyalty and advocacy by fostering favorable perceptions and active engagement with brand content. This study highlights the importance for e-commerce platforms like Tokopedia to leverage emotionally engaging and consistent narratives to enhance customer relationships and secure a competitive advantage in digital markets.

Abstract

The business world is experiencing rapid development, encouraging business actors to adapt to the ever-changing market dynamics. This study aims to analyze the influence of service innovation, product completeness, and store atmosphere on consumer purchasing decisions, with consumer satisfaction as a mediating variable. The research was conducted at Coco Mart Jimbaran with 120 customers as respondents, using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for data analysis. The results indicate that service innovation, product completeness, and store atmosphere positively and significantly affect consumer satisfaction. Furthermore, consumer satisfaction has a positive impact on purchasing decisions. However, consumer satisfaction does not significantly mediate the effect of service innovation, product completeness, and store atmosphere on purchasing decisions. This study contributes to the theoretical understanding of the relationship between retail attributes, consumer satisfaction, and purchasing decisions. It also provides practical insights for retail managers to enhance service innovation, improve product offerings, and create an inviting store atmosphere to drive consumer purchasing behavior. Additionally, the findings offer guidance for policymakers in creating regulations that foster retail sector development, such as incentives for service technology innovation and better inventory management practices. With increasing competition in Bali's retail industry, particularly in Badung Regency, these insights provide strategic recommendations for business actors to maintain competitiveness by focusing on customer satisfaction as the key to attracting and retaining loyal customers.

Abstract

The swallow's nest tax holds significant potential to enhance Regional Original Revenue (PAD), particularly in Parigi Moutong Regency, where the swallow's nest industry has experienced rapid growth. However, despite its high potential, actual tax revenue remains relatively low. This study aims to analyze the potential, effectiveness, and contribution of the swallow's nest tax to regional tax revenue in Parigi Moutong Regency. A quantitative descriptive approach is used, incorporating documentation studies, field studies, and literature reviews. Data sources include tax revenue reports from the Regional Revenue Agency (BAPENDA) of Parigi Moutong Regency. The potential tax revenue is estimated based on the number of entrepreneurs, production volume, and selling price of swallow's nests. Tax effectiveness is measured by comparing actual revenue with the set target, while tax contribution is assessed based on its proportion to total regional tax revenue. The findings indicate that the swallow's nest tax potential in Parigi Moutong Regency is substantial, with estimated revenues reaching Rp. 7,824,600,000.00 if all taxpayers comply with regulations. The tax collection effectiveness was relatively high between 2020 and 2022, with percentages approaching or exceeding 100%. However, in 2023, effectiveness significantly declined to 67.53%. Despite its potential, the contribution of the swallow's nest tax to total regional tax revenue remains minimal, averaging only 0.21% from 2020 to 2023. In conclusion, while the swallow's nest tax presents a promising revenue source, its realization remains suboptimal due to challenges in taxpayer compliance and low revenue targets. This study highlights the need for enhanced supervision, increased taxpayer awareness, and stricter enforcement policies to maximize swallow's nest tax revenue and strengthen its contribution to the PAD of Parigi Moutong Regency.

Abstract

This study analyzes the disclosure of the procedure for risk management conducted by the bank that won the best title in Indonesia in 2023 with OJK's provisions regulations on the implementation of risk management for commercial banks. This study uses content analysis by determining the level of breadth of disclosure, namely full, undisclosed, and vaguely disclosed. The review is carried out on the annual report of each bank. The results of the study found that the bank that excelled in full disclosure was BBRI with the disclosure of 6 categories out of the supposed 7 categories in the disclosure of the uncertainty management process for market uncertainty. The disclosure of the credit risk management process, BBNI is superior to 5 categories than it should be 7 categories. Meanwhile, in liquidity risk, BBNI's disclosure is the lowest from other banks, which is only 4 categories out of 7 categories. The research conducted resulted in new knowledge that although it won the title of the best bank in Indonesia, in the process of disclosure of risk management, not all categories set by the OJK are met.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of the five SERVQUAL dimensions—tangible,  empathy, reliability, responsiveness, and assurance—on customer satisfaction in  education and training institutions using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach.  The research aims to synthesize findings from empirical studies published between 2020  and 2024 to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these dimensions impact  customer satisfaction in this context. The review systematically collected and analyzed  relevant literature from reputable databases, including Dimention. A total of 9 studies  were selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, ensuring that only  research focusing on SERVQUAL dimensions in education and training institutions and  their impact on customer satisfaction was included. The results reveal that all five  dimensions significantly contribute to customer satisfaction, with reliability and  assurance having the strongest impact. Tangible aspects, such as facilities and  infrastructure, and empathy, which reflects personalized attention, also play crucial roles.  Responsiveness, related to the promptness and willingness of service delivery, was found  to enhance trust and loyalty among customers. This study highlights the critical importance of implementing and improving  SERVQUAL dimensions to enhance service quality and satisfaction in education and  training institutions. The findings provide valuable insights for educators, policymakers,  and administrators to refine service delivery models and meet the growing expectations  of their customers.
