This research aims to identify and analyze the values of Madurese local wisdom (Madurology) in SDN Kalianget Barat III that can be integrated in Social Studies learning in elementary schools, as well as its relevance to the current educational context. Furthermore, this research will develop an applicable integration model, where Madurese cultural values can be applied in social studies learning materials to help teachers introduce and teach local culture to students effectively. The research method used in this study is a qualitative approach. This approach was chosen because the purpose of the research was to explore deeply about how the integration of Madurese local wisdom (Madurology) in Social Studies learning in elementary schools. This research was conducted at SDN Kalianget Barat III Sumenep, which is located in the Madura region. This school was chosen because it is considered to have potential in developing Madurese local wisdom-based learning, and has characteristics that can represent the implementation of local culture in learning in elementary schools. The results showed that historically, Madura has an important role in the formation of national identity through cultural, social and political contributions. Madurese people uphold the principle of andhap asor (humble), kinship ethics (bung-sabung rosok), work toughness (ta'tako' mate, tape tako'kalaparan), and morality (Bhupa' Bhebu' Guru Rato). These values not only enrich social studies material on cultural diversity, social norms, and citizenship, but also shape the character of students who are noble, respect brotherhood, and have a high work ethic. The integration of local wisdom in social studies learning can be done through contextual approaches such as collaborative projects, role-playing, and case discussions, which are adjusted to the grade level and geographical conditions in Madura.

Abstract

The learning model is an important factor influencing student learning outcomes. The low achievement of students in social studies at SMPN 4 Pamekasan is still a problem, mainly due to the use of less innovative models such as the lecture method, which limits active participation. This study aims to examine three key aspects. First, to analyze the effect of the TGT learning model on the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMPN 4 Pamekasan and to what extent the TGT model can improve student performance. Second, to compare the average pretest and posttest scores of students using the TGT model. Third, to compare the same scores for students taught using conventional methods. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group design. Pretests and posttests were conducted in both groups. The results showed a significance value of 0.014 with a t-count of 6.619, indicating a significant effect of the TGT model. N-Gain analysis showed a 90% increase in the experimental group and 26% in the control group. The experimental class improved from 32.19 to 92.76, while the control class increased from 43.64 to 60.00, proving the greater effectiveness of the TGT model.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the unique social climbing phenomenon among illegal cigarette sellers along with its various dynamics, as well as to describe the resulting social and economic phenomena. The urgency of this research stems from the increasing circulation of illegal cigarettes and the resulting shifts in social structures within rural communities, which have not been sufficiently explored in previous studies. The method used is field research with a qualitative descriptive case study approach, employing data collection techniques such as non-participant observation and comprehensive interviews. The research was conducted in two villages in Pamekasan Regency, with three illegal cigarette sellers as research subjects. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study show: (1) A lack of social sanctions from the community regarding the circulation of illegal cigarettes; (2) Social climbing behavior arises because individuals highly value social status and perceive social appreciation as closely tied to symbols of wealth; (3) Social climbing is related to the individual's self-concept and their ability to accept their life circumstances. Strengthening gratitude attitudes is essential so that the pursuit of livelihood considers not only financial gain but also psychological well-being and lawful behavior. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the understanding of deviant economic practices and their social impacts, providing insights for policymakers in formulating more effective social and legal interventions to reduce illegal trade activities.

Abstract

The Larung Sesaji tradition in Blitar's coastal communities has various deep values, including mutual cooperation, togetherness, solidarity, and respect for nature. Besides functioning as a spiritual ritual, this tradition strengthens local cultural identity and creates a harmonious relationship between humans and nature. This research aims to: (1) identify the social values in the Larung Sesaji tradition, (2) analyse its influence on the social life of the community, and (3) explore the challenges in maintaining it in the midst of social change. Using a qualitative approach and a case study in Tambakrejo Village, data were obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation, then analysed using the Miles model. The results showed that the Larung Sesaji tradition fosters togetherness, solidarity, and social justice. In addition, this tradition increases ecological awareness and strengthens the collective identity of the community. However, challenges from modernisation, globalisation and social change, including the declining interest of the younger generation, have the potential to threaten the sustainability of this tradition. To ensure the sustainability of the tradition, innovations involving the younger generation are needed, such as the integration of digital technology and creative approaches in the performance of rituals. Suggestions for future research include analysing 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and the utilisation of digital technology, to strengthen the role of the Larung Sesaji tradition as part of a cultural heritage that is adaptive to the times

Abstract

This research article provides a concise overview of the study on "Gender and Education in the Context of Sustainable Development Goals" by employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with the PICO framework. The study investigates how gender-related factors influence educational access, participation, and outcomes within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality). Using the PICO criteria—Population (diverse gender groups in formal and non-formal education), Intervention (inclusive education policies, empowerment programs, and strategies to reduce gender disparities), Comparison (various international policies and practices), and Outcome (impacts on educational quality and SDG achievement)—the review synthesizes findings from peer-reviewed articles published within the last five years. The results highlight that gender-responsive education policies significantly contribute to enhancing educational quality and promoting equality; however, challenges such as social, economic, and cultural barriers continue to impede progress. The paper concludes with recommendations for strengthening regulatory frameworks, expanding access to education for marginalized groups, and integrating gender equality principles into educational curricula to support sustainable development.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of implementing Merdeka Curriculum on students' social sensitivity in social studies (IPS) at SMP Negeri 1 Pamekasan. Merdeka Curriculum aims to enhance students' critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills while fostering social awareness. A quantitative method with an ex-post facto approach was used in this research. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to a representative sample. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression, as the study involved two variables: the implementation of the Independent Curriculum (X) and students' social sensitivity (Y). The study is based on the Independent Curriculum theory from the Ministry of Education and the social sensitivity theory from David and Drost. The results indicate that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SMP Negeri 1 Pamekasan scored an average of 92.54, categorized as high. Students' social sensitivity in social studies also scored high, with an average of 92.56. Hypothesis testing confirmed a significant effect of the Independent Curriculum on social sensitivity, with an F-value of 48.012 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings suggest that the Independent Curriculum effectively improves students' social sensitivity and can guide future curriculum development

Abstract

Character-based education is crucial in shaping a generation that is not only academically intelligent but also possesses strong moral values. One approach applied at MI Nururrahmah is the Kurikulum Cinta, which aims to instill values such as love, empathy, tolerance, and justice. Although this curriculum has been implemented, there are various obstacles and challenges in the process. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Kurikulum Cinta at MI Nururrahmah, including the obstacles faced, the potential available, and the support needed to optimize its implementation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data triangulation techniques through interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires distributed to the teachers of MI Nururrahmah. The data obtained is analyzed to identify the barriers, potential, and support in the implementation of Kurikulum Cinta. The results show that although Kurikulum Cinta has been well implemented, there are some obstacles, such as egoistic attitudes in some students and limitations in time and learning facilities. However, support from the head of the madrasah and active involvement of parents provide great potential to strengthen the implementation of this curriculum. Teacher training programs also play an important role in improving the quality of value-based teaching. Kurikulum Cinta at MI Nururrahmah has shown positive results in shaping students' character, despite some challenges in its implementation. More varied strategies, increased support from parents and the head of the madrasah, as well as improvements in facilities and teacher training, are needed to maximize the implementation of this curriculum.

Abstract

Learning media plays a crucial role in enhancing student interest, understanding, and engagement in the learning process. At SMP Negeri 1 Pamekasan, social studies learning is still dominated by conventional media, leading to student boredom, particularly among Generation Z and Alpha, who are more accustomed to technology. This study aims to develop and evaluate the validity of Wordwall educational games in social studies learning at SMP Negeri 1 Pamekasan. The research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D development model by Thiagarajan, consisting of four stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Data collection was conducted using observation, interviews, questionnaires, and research instruments. Qualitative data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman framework, while quantitative data were processed to determine product feasibility using Eko Putro Widoyo's theory. The results indicate that the development of Wordwall-based educational game media for social studies subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Pamekasan, following the 4D model, is feasible, with a media feasibility score of 4.4 and a material feasibility score of 4.81, both categorized as "very good."

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the internalization of religious values in the development of early childhood character and its relation to SDG 4.7 (education for sustainable development) and SDG 16 (inclusive peace and justice). Internalization of religious values is an important foundation for building children's spiritual attitudes through the habit of worship such as prayer, dhikr, and polite behavior. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to systematically identify, evaluate, and interpret relevant literature based on predetermined provisions and limitations. The literature used is limited to the internalization of religious values in the Pamekasan Community. The results of the study show that in Pamekasan, the internalization of religious values is carried out through a synergistic approach to family, educational institutions, and community communities. This process forms the spiritual attitudes of early childhood which are reflected in the practice of worship and civilized social behavior. Internalization of religious values also plays a role in strengthening children's character as part of inclusive and sustainable education, in accordance with the goals of SDG 4.7 and SDG 16. These findings show the importance of cross-sector collaboration in forming a generation that is religious, peace-loving, and just from an early age.
