Abstract

The phenomenon of e-commerce use is experiencing rapid growth among the public, causing high competition between e-commerce companies in Indonesia. Shopee is one of the e-commerce companies that is experiencing this competition, experiencing a decline in the number of users and suffering losses of up to 115% during 2021-2022 due to the presence of many new e-commerce platforms. This research aims to examine the influence of user interface and security on customer loyalty with user experience as a mediating variable on the Shopee e-commerce platform in Indonesia. This research uses a survey method with a quantitative approach. The analytical tool used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS version 24 software. Research data was obtained from respondents using a questionnaire that was distributed to 215 Shopee customers in Indonesia. The results show that user interface and security influence user experience, which in turn influences customer loyalty. User experience also acts as a mediator in the relationship between user interface and security on customer loyalty. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions to the development of e-commerce service management strategies that consumers need and want.

Abstract

This quantitative study investigates the impact of mental workload, quality of work life, and happiness at work on job satisfaction among prison officers at Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Kelas IIB Pariaman (n=47). Data were collected through a survey using validated scales. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Cronbach's alpha were employed to ensure the validity and reliability of the instruments. Multiple regression analysis using STATA 12 revealed that both quality of work life and happiness at work have significant positive effects on job satisfaction, while mental workload does not significantly influence it. These findings align with previous studies highlighting the importance of employee well-being in enhancing job satisfaction. Practical implications suggest that organizations should focus on improving quality of work life and fostering happiness at work to boost employee satisfaction, which can subsequently enhance organizational performance. However, mental workload should be managed carefully, considering its potential indirect impact on satisfaction.

Abstract

Education played an important role in improving the quality of human resources. However, the high cost was an obstacle for many people to continue to a higher level. According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the cost of education rises 10%-15% every year, with the cost of higher education reaching IDR 14.47 million in 2020/2021. The increase in tuition fees at some universities also added to the burden on students. On the other hand, advances in financial technology offered financing solutions through online loans. However, this option often comes with various risks. The purpose of this study was to analyze the perception of risk on the interest in making online loans as an alternative education financing. This research was a quantitative study with a voluntary sampling technique and used the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEMPLS) analysis method. The results showed that all aspects of risk perception consisting of financial risk, security risk, psychological risk, and performance risk had a negative and significant effect on interest in making online loans as an alternative to education financing.

Abstract

Consumer satisfaction can be interpreted as one of the indicators to see the success of a company by the extent to which consumers feel satisfied with the company, therefore it is very crucial for a company to always pay attention to its customers whether they feel very satisfied, satisfied or not satisfied at all. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the application of artificial intelligence has a positive and significant effect on consumer satisfaction. And how the application of artificial intelligence in the shopee application is based on an Islamic business perspective. This study uses a quantitative approach method. The data used is primary data by distributing questionnaires online via google form. The population used in this study were students who used those in Bandar Lampung City. A sample of 97 people using the Probability Sampling formula, taken by simple random sampling with the Cochran technique. Data analysis was processed using SmartPLS version 4.Artificial Intelligence has a positive and significant influence on consumer satisfaction. The Technology Acceptance Model theory explains individual acceptance of information technology systems. Customer experience does not moderate the relationship between AI and consumer satisfaction. However, it is important to pay attention to the application of AI from an Islamic Business perspective because it can affect the law of its use. Thus, the application of AI from an Islamic Business perspective can help provide consumer satisfaction.

Abstract

Excessive consumption can affect the financial stability of individuals as well as society in general. This study aims to examine the effect of perceived Ease of Use, income, and Customer Perceived Benefit on consumer behavior of e-wallet service users from an Islamic perspective, especially in Generation Z of GoPay service users in Bandar Lampung. This study uses a quantitative approach with survey methods through questionnaires as a data collection tool. The research sample is GoPay users in Bandar Lampung who are part of Generation Z. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression to test the relationship between the independent variables (Ease of Use, income, and Customer Perceived Benefit) with the dependent variable (consumptive behavior). The Data in this study is the primary data processed using SMART PLS 4 software. The perception of Ease of Use has an original sample value of 0.213 which means that it has a positive relationship and the perception of Ease of Use also has a T-statistical value of 2.110 > 1.661 and a p-value of 0.035 < 0.05 which means that the relationship is significant. It can be concluded that the first hypothesis of the perception of Ease of Use has a positive and significant effect on consumptive behavior. this study is in accordance with the theory of Tam (Technology Acceptance Model) which explains that the idea of Tam (Technology Acceptance Mode)l is an information systems theory that aims to explain how consumers understand and use various data technologies. when a person believes that using a system will make his work easier. convenience can help save time and effort when using a particular technology system because people will find the system or technology easy to use. As a result, transactions will become easier for the general public.   Consumptive behavior is the desire to buy goods or services even though they are not necessary to achieve the highest level of success.

Yet, they face significant challenges, such as limited access to finance, inadequate infrastructure, regulatory barriers, and a lack of entrepreneurial skills. This manuscript presents the design of a sustainable entrepreneurship skills development and SMME growth model referred to as Objectives, Phased Framework, and Enabling Ecosystem (OPFEE)  based on insights from a comprehensive investigation conducted in Masvingo Province. The study highlights the essential elements of fostering a conducive environment for SMME growth, emphasizing the need for practical skills, financial inclusion, infrastructure, and regulatory reform. It outlines a phased approach to support entrepreneurship in Zimbabwe, identifying the critical steps needed to transform SMMEs into key drivers of economic growth.

Abstract

The development of research paradigms in economics and business has shifted from traditional positivist approaches to interpretive, constructivist, and critical perspectives. These paradigms allow for broader and more contextual exploration but often face data collection and integration limitations. Mixed methods have subsequently emerged as a research strategy that combines the strengths of quantitative and qualitative approaches to achieve a more comprehensive understanding. This article explores the significance of employing mixed methods in research within economics and business, particularly in human resource management (HRM). Integrating objective numerical data with in-depth qualitative insights in mixed methods is regarded as a solution to the limitations of traditional paradigms, offering enhanced validity through data triangulation. Examples of implementation across various HRM contexts from the restaurant industry in Korea to studies on knowledge-sharing behavior in Portugal illustrate how mixed methods contribute to richer insights into structural and human factors within organizations.

Abstract

This study is a causality research that aims to analyze the influence of GCG, profitability and leverage on Earnings Management. GCG variables are measured using Independent Commissioners and Audit Committees. Profitability is measured using Retrun On Assets (ROA). Leverage is measured using the Debt To Asset Ratio (DAR). Meanwhile, the Profit Management variable is measured using the Discretionary Accrual model. This research is a quantitative research. The source of data for this research is secondary data in the form of company financial statements obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website. The analysis methods used include descriptive statistical tests, classical assumption tests (multicoloniality tests, autocorrelation tests, heteroscedasticity tests, normality tests), and hypothesis tests. Based on the results of data analysis, the results of the study partially show that GCG has a positive and insignificant effect on Earnings Management. Profitability has a positive and significant effect on Profit Management. Meanwhile, Leverage has a negative and significant effect on Earnings Management.
