Abstract

Healthcare service quality has become a critical issue due to its direct impact on patient safety, satisfaction, and organizational performance. Leadership has been identified as a key factor influencing healthcare service quality outcomes. This study aims to systematically review the role of leadership in improving healthcare service quality. This study employs a systematic literature review approach following PRISMA guidelines, utilizing databases including Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science. Articles published between 2015 and 2025 were included based on predefined inclusion criteria, with most studies adopting a cross-sectional design. The findings indicate that leadership plays a fundamental role in enhancing healthcare service quality. Leadership demonstrates the strongest impact on improving patient care outcomes, employee engagement, and organizational performance. This study proposes a conceptual framework that can guide future research and practice. Furthermore, leadership significantly improves service quality through employee engagement, organizational culture, and innovation. Leadership also indirectly influences patient outcomes through mediating variables such as work engagement and structural empowerment. However, gaps remain in integrating leadership models with healthcare service quality frameworks.

Abstract

Work acciden during the electrical maintenance directly affect the health of the employees, productivity losses, and company losses because of lost assets. A number of elements contribute to accidents, and by understanding these aspects, workers can take protective actions before an electrical disaster occurs. The "PRISMA" technique, which stands for recommended reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses, was used to conduct the study. According to the study findings, electrical accidents are caused by two factors: personal factors (personal stress, fatigue, social support, work stress, and self-extremity) and safety climate factors (safety participation, safety compliance, safety training, safety knowledge, safety motivation, work environment, and work procedures). Thus, it can be said that personal variables and climate safety elements are the main causes of electrical accidents.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Konsumsi minuman berpemanis (sugar-sweetened beverages/SSB) pada remaja meningkat pesat dalam dua dekade terakhir dan berkontribusi terhadap risiko obesitas serta penyakit tidak menular. Faktor psikososial, lingkungan keluarga, teman sebaya, dan kebijakan publik terbukti memengaruhi pola konsumsi remaja. Tujuan: Mengidentifikasi determinan psikososial konsumsi minuman berpemanis pada remaja melalui telaah sistematis terhadap literatur nasional dan internasional periode 2021–2025. Metode: Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan systematic review dengan pedoman PRISMA, menyeleksi 13 artikel relevan dari basis data internasional dan nasional. Analisis dilakukan secara tematik untuk mengelompokkan faktor individu, sosial, ekonomi, dan kebijakan yang memengaruhi konsumsi SSB. Hasil: Konsumsi SSB pada remaja dipengaruhi oleh ketersediaan di rumah, pengaruh teman sebaya, pendidikan orang tua, pendapatan keluarga, preferensi rasa, kontrol diri, stres, serta kualitas tidur. Dukungan terhadap kebijakan publik seperti pajak SSB dan pembatasan penjualan di sekolah cukup tinggi di kalangan remaja, sehingga kebijakan ini berpotensi efektif menekan konsumsi. Kesimpulan: Konsumsi minuman berpemanis pada remaja dipengaruhi oleh faktor psikososial, individu, sosioekonomi, serta kebijakan publik. Intervensi komprehensif yang melibatkan keluarga, sekolah, komunitas, dan regulasi pemerintah diperlukan untuk menekan konsumsi berlebihan dan mencegah risiko kesehatan jangka panjang. Abstract

Diabetes melitus tipe 2 merupakan penyakit tidak menular yang prevalensinya terus meningkat. Di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Cibeureum Kabupaten Kuningan, kasus meningkat dari 370 pada tahun 2023 menjadi 650 pada tahun 2024 atau sebesar 74,86%. Kondisi ini menunjukkan perlunya pendekatan berbasis wilayah melalui Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) untuk mengidentifikasi pola persebaran dan faktor risiko. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional. Populasi dan sampel penelitian adalah seluruh pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 sebanyak 650 orang dengan teknik total sampling. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder dari laporan skrining Penyakit Tidak Menular yang diolah menggunakan aplikasi QGIS. Variabel penelitian meliputi jenis kelamin, usia, obesitas, aktivitas fisik, pola makan, dan riwayat merokok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kasus tersebar di delapan desa dengan jumlah tertinggi di Desa Cimara sebanyak 134 kasus (20,62%) dan terendah di Desa Sukarapih sebanyak 56 kasus (8,62%). Mayoritas penderita adalah perempuan, berusia 40–59 tahun, dan mengalami obesitas. Dengan demikian, SIG efektif digunakan untuk mendukung perencanaan intervensi kesehatan berbasis wilayah.

Abstract

Tuberkulosis (TBC) menjadi masalah kesehatan global dengan angka kejadian dan kematian tinggi, termasuk di Indonesia, serta keberhasilan pengobatannya sangat bergantung pada kepatuhan pasien dalam menjalani terapi jangka panjang. Di Puskesmas Cakung, masih ditemukan ketidakpatuhan pasien dalam pengobatan yang berpotensi menyebabkan putus obat, salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh tingkat pengetahuan pasien tentang penyakit dan terapinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan dengan kepatuhan minum obat anti tuberkulosis (OAT) di Puskesmas Cakung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional pada 40 responden yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang mencakup karakteristik responden, tingkat pengetahuan tentang tuberkulosis, serta kepatuhan minum obat menggunakan instrumen MMAS-8, serta didukung data sekunder berupa rekam medis, laporan program TB, dan Sistem Informasi Tuberkulosis (SITB). Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat untuk menggambarkan distribusi variabel dan bivariat untuk menguji hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan dan kepatuhan minum obat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mayoritas responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan baik (77,5%) dengan kepatuhan yang didominasi kategori sedang (40,0%) dan tinggi (37,5%). Uji statistik menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan dengan kepatuhan minum obat. Melalui penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan berperan dalam meningkatkan kepatuhan pasien terhadap terapi OAT dan mendukung keberhasilan pengobatan TBC.

Abstract

Percepatan transformasi digital di sektor kesehatan menuntut rumah sakit untuk mengelola layanan dan data secara efektif melalui pemanfaatan teknologi informasi, salah satunya dengan penerapan Sistem Informasi Manajemen Rumah Sakit (SIM-RS). Akan tetapi keberhasilan implementasi SIM-RS tidak hanya ditentukan oleh aspek teknis, melainkan juga oleh budaya organisasi dan kesiapan sumber daya manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan SIM-RS dan budaya organisasi terhadap peningkatan kinerja karyawan di RSI Aminah Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap 70 karyawan sebagai sampel, yang ditentukan menggunakan analisis deskriptif serta analisis verifikatif berupa regresi linier berganda, uji t, dan uji F. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara deskriptif penerapan SIM-RS, budaya organisasi, dan kinerja karyawan berada pada kategori baik. Secara parsial, penerapan SIM-RS tidak signifikan akan tetapi berpengaruh positif. Secara simultan, penerapan SIM-RS dan budaya organisasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa budaya organisasi merupakan faktor dominan dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan, sementara SIM-RS berperan sebagai faktor pendukung yang efektivitasnya bergantung pada budaya organisasi dan kesiapan sumber daya manusia. Abstract

Based on a quasi-experimental study in the village of Srigonco, this research concludes that reminiscence therapy using a storytelling approach is far more effective in improving cognitive function in older adults than puzzle therapy. The study, which involved 48 older adults with moderate cognitive impairment, showed that the storytelling group experienced a significant increase in MoCA-INA scores, from an average of 18.54 to 21.17, whilst the puzzle group only increased from 18.67 to 19.50. Through six intervention sessions themed around local culture and the history of independence, storytelling therapy proved capable of activating autobiographical and emotional memories in older adults more deeply than puzzles, which focus solely on general problem-solving stimulation. An independent t-test confirmed a significant difference in the final results of the two groups with a p-value of 0.001, affirming the superiority of this narrative-based therapy rooted in the past. Given its low cost, simplicity, and relevance to the cultural context of Indonesia, storytelling intervention is highly recommended for integration into elderly community health centre services to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality among women worldwide, with a high disease burden, especially in developing countries including Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the association between age, parity, and family history with the incidence of cervical cancer at Vina Estetika Hospital, Medan, in 2024. This research employed a cross-sectional design with a sample of 260 patients, consisting of 130 cervical cancer patients and 130 non-cancer patients. Data were obtained through medical records and analyzed using Chi-Square tests, correlation, and regression analysis. The results showed that the majority of cervical cancer patients were over 40 years old (89.2%) and there was a significant association between age and the incidence of cervical cancer (p = 0.012). Parity show a significant relationship (p = 0.028), while family history, despite all patients having a negative family history, statistically showed a significant association (p = 0.000). Regression analysis revealed that age, parity, and family history collectively had a highly significant relationship with the incidence of cervical cancer (p = 0.000), contributing 43% to the variation in incidence. This study concludes that age over 40 and parity are the most influential factors associated with cervical cancer, whereas family history is not significantly related. Therefore, preventive efforts such as HPV vaccination, routine screening, and reproductive health education are essential, especially for high-risk women.

Abstract

Physician density is a key indicator of health system capacity and has been associated with various population health outcomes, including life expectancy. However, updated global evidence using recent data remains limited. This study aimed to examine the association between physician density and life expectancy across countries using the most recent available data from 2023. A cross-sectional ecological study was conducted using secondary data from the World Health Organization, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the World Bank. A total of 58 countries were included based on data availability. Physician density (per 1,000 population) was analyzed as the independent variable, while life expectancy at birth (years) was the dependent variable. The analysis showed a strong positive association between physician density and life expectancy. Pearson correlation yielded r = 0.771 (p < 0.001), while Spearman correlation showed ρ = 0.827 (p < 0.001). Physician density is strongly associated with life expectancy at the country level. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening the health workforce as part of efforts to improve population health outcomes. Policies aimed at increasing and equitably distributing physicians may contribute to gains in life expectancy, particularly in countries with limited healthcare access.

Abstract

Effective communication and nurses’ performance are critical determinants of healthcare service quality in hospital settings. The HARYANI Leadership Model was developed as an innovative framework to enhance both communication effectiveness and nursing performance. This study aimed to examine the effect of HARYANI Leadership Model training on communication effectiveness and nurses’ performance at Columbia Asia Special Surgical Hospital Semarang. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. A total of 58 nurses were recruited using purposive sampling, comprising 29 participants in the intervention group and 29 in the control group. The intervention group received 40 hours of HARYANI Leadership Model training over a two-week period, while the control group received no intervention. Data were collected using a 51-item communication effectiveness questionnaire and a 42-item nurses’ performance questionnaire. Statistical analyses included paired t-tests, Wilcoxon signed-rank tests, Mann–Whitney U tests, and ANCOVA for multivariate analysis. This study received ethical approval from the Research Ethics Committee of Universitas Karya Husada Semarang (No. 079/KEP/UNKAHA/LPPM/III/2026). The findings demonstrated a substantial increase in communication effectiveness scores in the intervention group (130.14 to 213.90; p = 0.000), compared to a minimal increase in the control group (123.59 to 125.52; p = 0.002). Similarly, nurses’ performance scores in the intervention group improved significantly (91.14 to 170.31; p = 0.000), whereas the control group showed only slight improvement (90.28 to 93.45; p = 0.000). Between-group comparisons revealed statistically significant differences (p < 0.05). The effect sizes were notably large (Cohen’s d = 5.53 for communication effectiveness and 5.59 for performance). Multivariate analysis indicated that demographic variables did not significantly influence the outcomes (p > 0.05). In conclusion, the HARYANI Leadership Model training significantly enhances communication effectiveness and nurses’ performance, suggesting its potential as an effective strategy for strengthening nursing leadership and improving healthcare quality.
