Abstract

Palm sugar is a processed product derived from the sap of palm trees, which is boiled and molded into solid sugar. This study aims to (1) identify the value chain and (2) analyze the margin and efficiency of value chain patterns in Rambah District, Rokan Hulu Regency. A purposive sampling method was employed, involving six respondents. Data analysis included value chain mapping as well as margin and efficiency calculations. The findings reveal two value chain patterns for both pure and mixed palm sugar agroindustries. The main activities in the value chain consist of inbound logistics, operations, outbound logistics, marketing and sales, and services. Supporting activities include procurement, infrastructure, human resource management, and technology development. In the pure palm sugar agroindustry, Pattern I yields a value chain margin of IDR 14,797.50 with an efficiency of 8.68%, while Pattern II yields a margin of IDR 18,959.09 with an efficiency of 8.70%. In the mixed palm sugar agroindustry, Pattern I generates a margin of IDR 6,000 with an efficiency of 12.23%, whereas Pattern II produces a margin of IDR 7,000 with an efficiency of 12.63%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the rice farming that occurred in Balunijuk Village, analyze the factors that Influence Farmer Decision to plant field rice and calculate the contribution of rice planting to the household food needs of field rice farmers in Balunijuk Village, Merawang District. The time and place of this research was conducted in January 2019 until July 2019 in Balunijuk Village, Merawang District, Bangka Regency. The research method used was a survey method. While the sampling method used in this research is the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling method, which is a sampling technique if the population has heterogeneous member and proportional strata with a sample size of 78 people. Methods of data analysis using descriptive qualitative, binary logistic regression analysis and quantitative descriptive. The results showed that 1) Planting of field rice in Balunijuk Village, Merawang District, Bangka Regency began in 2016 with the government's effort to improve the welfare of the community in a program to create a strong agriculture, especially in the Special Efforts of Corn and Soybean. Land availability, capital assistance from the government and farming experience in growing rice are the reasons for farmer to plant rice in Balunijuk Village. 2) Factors that significantly affect the decision of farmer to plant field rice are the level of education, the number of family dependents, farming experience and capital availability. 3) The contribution of wetland rice farming to the fulfillment of family food needs is an average of 8.71 percent from Rp. 1,054,433 per annum

Abstract

The purpose of this research describe patterns of sale of a commodity rice paddy fields in the village of the District Rias Toboali South Bangka Regency, to analyze factors influencing farmers decision in choosing the pattern of sales of commodities in the form of paddy rice grain and rice in the village Rias Toboali District of South Bangka district, analyze the differences in the income of farmers who chose the sales pattern in the form of grain and rice in the village Rias Toboali District of South Bangka Regency. The research was conducted on In June 2019 until January 2020 Village Rias Toboali District of South Bangka Regency. The method used is survey method. The sampling method used is incidental sampling with a sample of two groups of farmers who undertake different sales pattern (grain and rice). The number of samples in the form of farmers who sell grain as many as 35 people and the number of samples in the form of farmers who sell rice about 35 people. Methods of data analysis using Descriptive statistics, quantitative analysis (binary logistic regression, Compare independent samples t-test), The results showed patterns of sale of a commodity rice paddy fields in the village of the District Rias Toboali South Bangka Regency in the form of paddy rice grain and rice. The variables influencing the farmer's decision to choose the pattern of sales of grain and rice that age, the level of producer prices and capital owned with a value of Nagelkerke R Square 84,2%. There are differences in income average grain Rp.4,725,751.43 and income of rice farmers Rp.13,040,380.00 with margin ranges of grain and rice sales revenue in the amount of Rp.8.314.629.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the partnership farming Cassava Village Pudding Besar District of pudding Big Bangka, analyze the differences in average income that is obtained by farmers from various partnership schemes cassava in the village Pudding Besar District of pudding Big Bangka, analyzed the factors - factors that influence farmers' decision in choosing partners and not partner with partnership cassava farm in the village of Great pudding pudding Large District of Bangka. This study was conducted in January 2019 until January 2020 in the village of Great Pudding Pudding Large District of Bangka. The method used is survey method. Penrikan method used example is a method of quota sampling with a sample of two groups of 40 people and the partnering farmers do not partner 40 people. Methods of data analysis using descriptive qualitative, quantitative analsisis (independent sample t-test, binary logistic regression). The results showed the implementation of partnership farming patterns occurring in the village of Great Pudding is a partnership with the name intiplasma KSR Program (Cassava People's Gardens). There is a real difference but not significant, the average income of Rp 32,384,718 partner farmers, while the non- partner farmers Rp 36,751,056 with the difference in the average income of farmers partner and non- partner Rp 4,366,388 per year. Factors that significantly affect farmers' decisions in partnering and partnering as age and availability of capital.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the uptake of labor in oil palm plantation companies in Mangka Village, Bakam District, Bangka Regency, to analyze what factors influence the level of labor absorption in oil palm plantations in Mangka Village, Bakam District, Bangka Regency. This research was conducted in December 2018 until August 2019 in Mangka Village, Bakam District, Bangka Regency. The research method used was a survey method. The sampling method used was the quota sampling method with a sample of 76 people. Employment uptake in oil palm plantation companies was analyzed using descriptive statistics, while the factors affecting labor absorption were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the uptake of labor in oil palm plantation companies in Mangka Village, Bakam District, Bangka Regency over a period of 21 years had increased by 1%. Factors that influence the level of labor absorption in oil palm plantation companies are past labor absorption and education.

Abstract

Inadequate capital strength, limited marketing reach and lack of access to innovation in plantation technology owned by the community have resulted in less than optimal plantation production. The government then collaborates with large plantation companies, both private and state-owned companies to assist and guide smallholder plantations in a mutually beneficial, whole and sustainable cooperation system through a partnership relationship, one of which is the oil palm plantation revitalization program. Plantation revitalization is an effort to accelerate the development of smallholder plantations through expansion, rejuvenation and rehabilitation of plantation crops supported by investment credit from banks and interest subsidies by the government by involving companies in the plantation business sector as partners in plantation development, processing and marketing of products. This study aims to: (1) Describe the socio-economic impacts received by farmers in the revitalization program before and after the program runs (2) Counting the income contribution from oil palm farming by following a revitalization program to the total income of a farmer family in Dalil Village, Bakam District, Bangka Regency. The research method used is survey methods. The analysis tools used is a descriptive qualitative and microsoft excel. The results showing that of the 6 aspects there were 5 aspects that experienced changes in the socio-economic impact of the oil palm revitalization program. The contribution of revitalization farm to the total family income of 35.44%, this shows less than half of family income is obtained from the revitalization farm.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the internal factors among farmers, such as capital ownership, land area, farmer knowledge, the role of women farmers, and farming objectives, and how these affect the low interest in cultivating hybrid corn. Additionally, it examines external factors including production costs, cultivation techniques, availability and affordability of quality seeds, intensity of pest attacks, irrigation water needs, harvest period, product quality (color and taste), product shelf life, market opportunities, and selling price of hybrid corn. The findings of this study can serve as a basis for formulating future government or private sector programs to boost corn production in Pamekasan Regency, taking into account specific local conditions to support community welfare.

Abstract

Increasing the rice planting index (IP) can contribute to increasing rice production and food security. The intensity of rice planting in Lebak rice fields is currently still once a year, even though IP200 has been introduced for 6 years, so identification and comparison analysis of the social and economic performance of farmers who apply IP200 is needed. The sampling method used was Disproportionated Stratified Random Sampling, where the level of stratification was represented by 17 farmers who implemented the IP200 rice planting system technology innovation and 17 farmers who did not. Data analysis using farming analysis and business risk analysis. The results of data analysis are that the social rationality of age, education, number of family members and regional origin are not different, while the variable of farmer experience can influence the enthusiasm of farmers to implement it, the variables of farmer status as cultivators, pest attacks, extension activity, and higher motivation for farmers who implementing IP 200. Economic performance on land area variables greatly influences production and income, thus helping farmers with capital to implement IP200.

Abstract

Livelihood strategies are various alternative efforts carried out by households to fulfill living needs for sustainable livelihoods. Through the livelihoods approach, we can understand how people/communities create a livelihood, and how they try to survive. The lives of lowland rice farmers on the outskirts of Palembang City are inseparable from the problem of the water regime conditions of the lowlands with all the impacts it causes as well as social and economic aspects and resource aspects (land conversion) from agriculture to residential and housing land. This research aims to 1) analyze the level of business diversity of farmer households, 2) calculate the amount of income of lowland rice farmer households from the on farm, off farm and non farm sectors. 3) distribute the contribution of various incomes from the off-farm and non-farm sectors to the household income of lowland rice farmers on the outskirts of Palembang City. The data used and the analysis carried out used a combination of primary survey data and qualitative data from the results of in-depth interviews with a sample of 32 families. The results of the research show that the diversity of household businesses of lebak farmers on the outskirts of Palembang City, with the calculation of the entropy index, obtained a value of 0.73. This shows that the efforts made by household members are very good. diverse. The average income from rice farming is Rp. 16,168,113.32 /lg/yr and its contribution to the household is moderate (54.96%), the average non-rice farming income is Rp. 4,319,548.42/year with its contribution to households in the low criteria category (14.68%), and the average non-farming income is IDR. 8,928,750.00/year and its contribution to households in the medium criteria category (30.35%).

Abstract

The development of technology and information in the field of product marketing has become a challenge for all business actors, especially farmers, in marketing their products. This research aims to find out farmers' preferences in using digital marketing as a marketing tool. Study the case of the Okiagaru Marketing Cooperative. The sample was taken from 50 respondents who were members of the Okiagaru group. The analysis method uses Conjoint analysis. The results of the analysis show that the use of Digital Marketing is preferred by farmers with a level of interest in having broad and specific targets of 31.31%. Farmers also agree that promotional media using digital media is better than using Billboard/Spandak with an importance level of 25.15%. Marketing media is preferred using WEB sites and social media compared to market places with an importance level of 15.82%. Farmers prefer using cellphones or tablets compared to desktops with an interest level of 4.70%. To increase the target market, the strategies needed are (1) developing digital marketing applications based either on websites or social media, (2) increasing human resources such as transferring technological knowledge to the Okiagaru Marketing Cooperative
