Abstract

This research to describe problem solving skills on the biology subject of SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo students during the pandemic Covid-19. Descriptive research with this survey method uses the sampling is simple random sampling. Research subjects in research these are students of class X MIPA which consists of 5 classes and each class represented by 11 people, so the research subjects amounted to 55 people. Collecting data in this study using skills test questions essay problem solving, structured interview with eye teacher biology lessons and documentation of lesson plans and questions used by teachers which aims to serve as information supporting research results. Result data the study was analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis for describe students' problem solving skills, as well as analysis using the excel program to calculate the average of each indicator problem solving skills . The results showed that the four indicator of problem solving skills the highest percentage obtained indicator planning problem solving 60.45%; and lowest percentage indicator that is solving the problem 32.95%. Overall skill problem solving for SMA Negeri 1 Wonomulyo students is in the less category with an average of 48.52

Abstract

Project assessment is an assessment carried out by the teacher in observing the process of student activities. Project assessment requires students to complete project assignments using measuring tools and skills that are manifested in the form of actions, actions or work projects. This study used a Pre Experimental Design research design in the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data collection techniques used in this study include: 1) non-test test techniques, consisting of: (a) direct observation and assessment of the project learning assessment tool design by validity; (b) direct observation and assessment of the implementation of the assessment instrument given to the observer; and (c) giving teacher response questionnaires to collect data on the feasibility of project learning assessments and 2) test technique, namely giving multiple choice item tests to students to determine students' understanding of the project activities that have been implemented. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in the learning outcomes of class XII students who receive Biology learning material on Plant Growth and Development with project assessment learning and those who do not. It is shown from the results of hypothesis testing the value of student learning outcomes, obtained a significance value (0.027 < 0.05).

Abstract

Jagung manis (Zea maya var. saccharata Sturt.) merupakan salah satu varietas jagung yang mempunyai kandungan gula yang tinggi. Rasa manisnya ditentukan oleh salah satu faktor genetik tunggal yang resesif yaitu gen "sugary” (su-1), "brittle” (bt-2), "shrunken" (sh-2). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suhu penyimpanan dan ketebalan kemasan plastik terhadap rasa manis, kesegaran, dan lama penyimpanan jagung manis. Ketebalan plastik yang digunakan adalah 0,3 mm: 0,86 mm dan 0,8 mm. Jagung manis dikemas dalam plastik yang sudah diberi lubang, setiap satu kemasan plastik diisi 2 buah jagung manis, kemudian disimpan pada ruang terbuka (suhu kamar), lemari pendingin dengan suhu 10”C dan 4”C. Untuk menentukan perubahan warna dan pengeriputan, pengamatan dilakukan setiap 2 hari sekali selama 12 hari, sedangkan untuk menentukan kadar gula, kadarpati dan kadar air, pengamatan dilakukan pada hari ke-2, ke-8, dan ke-10. Sampel diambil sebanyak 3 ulangan untuk setiap perlakuan. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah RanCangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan bentuk percobaan faktorial. Penelitian ini mempunyal 3 faktor (perlakuan) yaitu faktor suhu ruang penyimpanan, ketebalan plastik dan lama penyimpanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu ruang penyimpanan 4oC dengan kombinasi penggunaan kemasan plastik 0,3 mm cukup efektif untuk mempertahankan rasa manis dan kesegaran jagung manis sampai hari ke-10.

Abstract

Garam adalah kebutuhan esensial bagi manusia. Produksi garam konsumsi dilakukan dengan kristalisasi air laut dengan penguapan. Laut yang tercemar mikroplastik berpotensi menyumbangkan cemaran mikroplastik pada produk garam konsumsi. Mikroplastik pada garam akan masuk ke dalam tubuh saat dikonsumsi, yang berpotensi menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kandungan mikroplastik pada garam tambak. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan tahapan penelitian preparasi sampel dengan pengapungan dan analisis sampel secara mikroskopis dan analisis kadar garam. Hasil penelitian menunjukan, garam mengandung mikroplastik sebanyak 15,67 ± 4,73 par/100gr. Solusi yang bisa dilakukan untuk meminimalkan cemaran mikroplastik adalah dengan penyaringan air laut dan pembersihan permukaan air garam.

Abstract

Abstract Strategies and special treatment are needed in learning for mentally retarded students so make the learning process in class optimal. One of the special strategies to use is learning media. It is still rare for learning media for mentally retarded students and teachers rarely use media when learning biology. This study aims to determine: 1) An overview of optimizing biology learning in mentally retarded children, 2) An overview of the application of the impulses delivery aids media in learning biology in mentally retarded children. This type of research is qualitative with the library research method. Sources of data in this study are from literature or using library research which can be in the form of books, journals, proceedings and so on. The research instrument used is a checklist of document completeness. The data collection technique used is library research, by searching for relevant documents according to research needs, about mentally retarded students, effective learning media, effective learning, and teaching aids for mentally disabled children. From the research results obtained: 1) Optimization of learning biology in mentally retarded children by using the media for the delivery of implants, 2) The steps for implementing the media are: a) Students are formed into groups, b) Students are given a brief explanation / material, c) Each group is given one medium, d) Students are given directions / explanations for the use of the media, e) Students are instructed to arrange the media appropriately (according to the 3 types of implant delivery mechanism phases) within 15 minutes, f) Students are instructed to present the media of their work, and g) The teacher reflects (straightens) the student's percentage results. Keywords: Optimization, Learning Biology, Children with Intellectual Disabilities, Media Teaching Aids, Delivery of Implus Abstrak Diperlukan perlakuan khusus dalam pembelajaran pada siswa tunagrahita sehingga proses belajar di kelas menjadi optimal. Perlakuan khusus tersebut salah satunya dapat menggunakan media pembelajaran. Masih jarang media pembelajaran pada siswa tunagrahita dan Guru masih jarang menggunakan media saat pembelajaran biologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) Gambaran optimalisasi pembelajaran biologi pada anak tunagrahita, 2) Gambaran strategi penerapan media alat peraga penghantaran implus dalam pemebelajaran biologi pada anak tunagrahita. Jenis penelitian ini kualitatif dengan metode kepustakaan (library research). Sumber data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dari literatur yang jenisnya berupa buku, jurnal, prosiding, dan dokumen lain yang relevan dengan tujuan untuk mengumpulkan data sesuai kebutuhan penelitian. Instumen dalam penelitian yaitu menggunakan lembar (checklist) kelengkapan dokumen. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan studi kepustakaan, yaitu dengan cara mencari dokumen yang relevan sesuai kebutuhan penelitian, yaitu tentang siswa tunagrahita, media pembelajaran yang efektif, pembelajaran yang efektif, dan media alat peraga pada anak tunagrahit. Dar hasil penelitian diperoleh: 1) Optimalisasi pembelajaran biologi pada anak tunagrahita, yaitu dengan menggunakan media alat peraga penghantaran implus, 2) Langkah-langkah penerapan media tersebut, yaitu: a) Siswa dibentuk menjadi beberapa kelompok, b) Siswa diberi penjelasan/ materi singkat, c) Setiap kelompok diberi satu media, d) Siswa diberi arahan/penjelasan penggunaan media, e) Siswa diinstruksikan menyusun media dengan tepat (sesuai 3 jenis fase mekanisme penghataran implus) dalam waktu 15 menit, f) siswa diinstruksikan mempresentasikan media hasil kerjanya, dan g) Guru memberi refleksi (meluruskan) hasil persentasi siswa. Abstract

WHO recommends GeneXpert Mycobacterium tuberculosis; Rifampicin as an initial examination for the diagnose of drug-resistant tuberculosis and drug-sensitive tuberculosis in pulmonary TB patients. The GeneXpert MTB/RIF examination is a molecular examination method with Nucleic Acid Amplification Technology (NAAT) which can diagnose TB and resistance to Rifampicin within 2 hours. The aims of this study is to determine the comparison of GeneXpert MTB/Rif Diagnostic Test with Drug Sensitivity Culture in Detecting Rifampicin M. tuberculosis resistance in TB patients at H. Adam Malik Hospital, Medan. The sample in this study was the entire population of suspected pulmonary TB at H. Adam Malik Hospital Medan who had MTB examination results. Post; rif. res. The sample size was using total sampling, namely the sampling technique where the number of samples was the same as the population, namely 128 patients in 2020. The results of the Rifampicin TCM Antibiotic Test were found that 128 people had Rifampicin Resistant results. Based on the percentage of the results of the MGIT Antibiotic Sensitivity Test, 125 people were found to have Rifampicin Resistant results and 3 people had Rifampicin Sensitive results. Based on the results, it can be seen that the sensitivity value of the TCM tool to DST MGIT culture is 97.7%. The Conclusions of these Research is the ability of the GeneXpert MTB/Rif method to detect rifampin resistance can be used as a screening tool to diagnose rifampin-resistant TB.

Abstract

This study is an experimental study, using a completely randomized design with 3 treatments with 5 repetitions each. The problem in this research is how much influence the mud and sand media have on the growth of corn (Zea mays), the data collection techniques in this study are observation and documentation. While thequantitative data analysis technique is equipped with a growth parameter table, average percentage and BNT test. The results of this study that the growth of corn seeds using mud media on stem height with an average value of 28.62 with a BNT value of 88.395, stem diameter with an average value of 4.24 with a BNT value of 10.65 and an average number of leaves 9 with a BNT value of 23.46. While the growth of corn seeds using sand media on stem height with an average value of 31.38 with a BNT value of 59.34, stem diameter with an average value of 4.36 with a BNT value of 10.95 and the number of leaves with an average value 9 with a BNT value of 23.46. The two planting media used, the sand planting media, are the faster growing corn seeds. Sand textured soil is very easy to cultivate, this medium has good aeration (availability of air voids) and drainage, has a relatively small cumulative surface area, so that the ability of sprout roots to penetrate sandy textured soil is very easy and causes sprouts to grow very quickly.

Abstract

Mangrove forests are the most productive ecosystems in the world that provide many benefits to coastal waters and commercial forest products, protecting the coastline, and supporting coastal fisheries. Mangrove management into the food is still widely unknown by the community, one of them is the management of jeruju into the food ingredients. This study aims to determine the acceptability of jeruju leaf chips derived from jeruju leaves (Acanthus ilicifolius). This study used the Group Randomized Design (RAK) method with treatment, it’s the addition of jeruju leaf extract to the flour dough which consisted of three levels of treatment, they are J1 samples without the addition of jeruju leaf extract, J2 is the addition of 30 grams of jeruju leaf extract and J3 is the addition of 50 grams of jeruju leaf extract. The test of the acceptability of jeruju leaf chips was carried out using an organoleptic test consisting of 20 panelists with a numerical scale of 5 = very like; 4= likes; 3 = rather like (regular); 2= dislike and 1 = strong dislike. From the research conducted, then the average result of the panelist's favorability of the color, texture and brittleness are the panelists prefer samples with J3 treatment (sample with the addition of jeruju leaf extract 50 grams ) with a higher favorability value than the J2 and J3 treatment are 4.15; 4.1 and 4.25. As for the taste and aroma, panelists prefer J1 treatment (without the addition of jeruju leaf extract) with panellist favorability scores of 3.75 and 3.6. As for the J2 treatment, the average panelist doesn't like it

Abstract

This study aims to determine the activities and learning outcomes of students before and after the application of the concept attainment learning model in the epidemiology subject on morbidity measurement, and to determine the effect of the concept attainment learning model on the fourth semester student learning outcomes in the Science Education Study Program. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The research design used is a pretest-posttest control group design with purposive sampling technique. From the results of the study, it was found that after the application of the concept attainment learning model, students were more active and enthusiastic. Student learning outcomes after the application of the concept attainment learning model are in the high category, namely 52.95% with an average value of 81.97. It can be concluded that there is an influence of the concept attainment learning model on learning activities and learning outcomes in the fourth semester students of the Science Education Study Program, known from the average value of 81.97 and is included in the high category.

Abstract

Tanaman Mangga (Mangifera indica L.) merupakan tanaman yang berpotensi sebagai tanaman obat karena kandungan fitokimianya. Kandungan terbesar dari daun mangga adalah mangoferin yang salah satu fungsi nya sebagai antijamur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui formula terbaik sediaan sampo ekstrak daun mangga (Mangifera indica L.) sebagai antijamur. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan eksperimen Laboratorium. Bahan aktif yang digunakan yaitu Daun Mangga ((Mangifera indica L.). Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh tanaman mangga yang ada di Dok IX, dan jumlah sampel daun mangga sebanyak 3 kg. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah maserasi dengan menggunakan pelarut etanol 70%. Evaluasi sediaan meliputi uji organoleptis, uji pH, uji homogenitas, dan uji tinggi busa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari ketiga formula yang diuji, diperoleh sediaan sampo terbaik pada formula I dimana memiliki warna cokelat, bentuk kental, dan bau khas menthol, pH sampo 7,5 pada uji pH, dan memiliki ketinggian busa yang paling besar pada uji tinggi busa yaitu 10 cm.
