Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of different types of organic fertilizer (solid biological, liquid biological and foliar) on the growth and productivity of tomato plants. This research was carried out for 3 months starting from February to April 2024. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 14 treatments, namely: solid biological fertilizer (100%), liquid biological fertilizer (100%) and foliar organic fertilizer (100%) with inorganic fertilizer doses of 25%, 50% and 75%. There were 14 treatment combinations with 3 repetitions. The observation variables are plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter and plant weight. The results of the research showed that the best treatment for plant height was liquid biofertilizer + 25% dose of inorganic fertilizer (83.47 cm), for number of leaves, namely liquid biofertilizer and leaf organic fertilizer (7 pieces), for stem diameter, 100% biofertilizer (6.20 cm) and for plant weight, namely organic leaf fertilizer + 75% dose of inorganic fertilizer (56.39 g).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop an electronic learning module oriented towards a contextual approach to valid biological technology innovation material. This research is development research using the ADDIE development model developed by Branch (2009). This research was carried out to the development stage, namely to the expert validation step, involving 2 lecturers as validators. The instrument used is a product validity test instrument. The data analysis technique used is qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. Based on the research conducted, a product has been produced in the form of an electronic learning module oriented towards a contextual approach to Biological Technology Innovation material. The validity test results with an average value of 88.54% meet the valid criteria. The research concluded that the electronic learning module oriented towards a contextual approach to Biological Technology Innovation material was valid.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the growth of Gracilaria verrucosa seaweed plantlets and to determine the environmental parameters that support the growth of Gracilaria verrucosa seaweed in the BPBAP Takalar seaweed tissue culture laboratory. This research took place in seaweed tissue culture, Takalar Brackish Water Aquaculture Fisheries Center (BPBAP), Mappakalompo Village, South Galesong District, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi Province. This research was carried out for four months, namely from August to December 2024. The research method used analysis of variance to see the comparison of growth rates. The parameters observed during the research were observations of absolute growth, specific growth rate and ADG (Avarage Daily Growth). Based on the results obtained in this research, it can be concluded that container 1 has a higher average growth rate compared to container 2 and container 3. The respective average growth rates for container 1, container 2, and container 3 are 0.511%, 0.274%, 0.407%. Environmental parameters that support the growth of Gracilaria verrucosa seaweed plantlets include temperature, light intensity, salinity and fertilizer.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze students' perceptions of collaboration skills regarding biology learning at SMA Negeri 1 Padang. The research was carried out using quantitative descriptive methods. The research population is students with a sample of 213 students selected using total sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and direct observation, with research instruments that have been validated and show high reliability (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.85). The research results show that students' collaboration skills are in the very good category with an average percentage of 81.04%. Analysis of five indicators of collaboration skills produced the following findings: (1) conflict resolution obtained the highest percentage of 82.12%, indicating excellent ability in managing differences of opinion; (2) project management reached 81.69%, indicating excellent ability in organizing learning tasks; (3) tolerance reached 81.43%, reflecting excellent mutual respect; (4) group interaction of 80.53%, indicating good communication skills; and (5) contribution to the team was 79.44%, indicating a good willingness to contribute to achieving common goals. This research concludes that biology learning has succeeded in facilitating the development of students' collaboration skills. The implications of this research are the need to optimize learning strategies that can further increase the contribution of students in teams, as well as the importance of maintaining achievements in other indicators through a variety of appropriate learning activities.

Abstract

Weeds is one of important issues in rubber (Hevea brasilliensis Muell Arg.) plantation. Knowing composition is important so that weed management work effectively, efficiently, and the effects last longer. The aim of this study was to analyze the composition of rubber plantation weeds at Kebun Percobaan Cikabayan. Data collection used the 0.5x0.5 m2 quadrat plot which placed randomly in the rubber plantation area. Names and number of individuals of each species were collected. The crown part of each species was collected to calculate its dry weight. Data were analyzed using vegetation analysis to obtain the ratio of dominant species of each species. The result of this study are the Cikabayan rubber plantation weeds were composed of 7 species of grass weeds and 3 species of broadleaf weeds. Axonopus compressus is the most dominant species with a dominant species ratio value of 42.65%. Keywords: weeds, rubber, composition, dominant species ratio

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the level of learning difficulty of class X MAN 1 Mamuju students in odd semester biology material. The type of research is quantitative survey method research with 167 samples determined using census techniques. The research instruments are biology learning results tests, questionnaires and observation sheets. The research data was analyzed by calculating the average and percentage and then categorizing it. Based on the research results, the majority of students experienced learning difficulties out of the 167 students who were the research samples. Biology test material to determine learning difficulties consists of Biology and its Role in Life with an average score of 84, Viruses and their Role in Life with an average score of 73, Prokaryotic Organisms and their Role in Life with an average score of 63, Protista and their Role in Life with an average score of 43, Kingdom Fungi and their Role in Life with an average score of 57. The factors that cause students' learning difficulties consist of internal and external factors. The internal factor that causes learning difficulties with the highest negative answer is the fatigue factor at 76.05% and the external factor that causes learning difficulties with the highest negative answer is the community factor at 70.51%. The highest negative answer was for the sub-indicator of internal factors, namely spiritual factors, while the lowest negative answer was physical disability at 17.37%, then the sub-indicator with the highest negative answer for external factors was the form of life in society at 78.44%, while the lowest average negative answer was school time at 45.51%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement in learning outcomes after implementing the jigsaw type Cooperative learning model assisted by pop up book media to improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students of Smp Negeri Satap Walatungga. This type of research is a type of classroom action research with a descriptive quantitative approach. The research was conducted in class with cycles. The stages of the research are: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were class VIII students of Smp Negeri Walatungga. In this study, the researcher used quantitative data analysis techniques. Quantitative data comes from the results of the post-test, multiple choice at the end of each cycle obtained from the results of tests given by the teacher to students to determine the extent to which student learning outcomes have improved. Data analysis techniques include calculating the average value, calculating the completeness of student learning cognitive assessment and calculating the completeness of student learning affective assessment. The results of the study are seen from the comparison of the average values โ€‹โ€‹of each cycle in the pre-cycle 56.40, cycle 56.46, and cycle II 62.90. These results can be said to have increased. It can be concluded that the application of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model assisted by pop-up book media can improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri Satap Walatungga.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki keanekaragaman flora dan fauna yang tinggi dengan iklim tropis yang dimilikinya. Lebah tanpa sengat berhabitat di daerah tropis dan memiliki keanekaragaman yang tinggi dan menghasilkan produk madu dan propolis serta telah banyak dibudidayakan. Lampung Tengah sebagai salah satu daerah yang memiliki lokasi budidaya lebah tanpa sengat, dipilih sebagai lokasi penelitian. Penelitian telah dilakukan dengan analisis molekuler menggunakan penanda molekuler gen COI. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas hasil amplifikasi gen COI pada empat individu lebah tanpa sengat yang dikoleksi di Lampung Tengah. Analisis molekuler telah dilakukan melalui proses ekstraksi, amplifikasi, elektroforesis, dan visualisasi DNA. Kualitas DNA diketahui melalui pita DNA yang terbentuk pada proses elektroforesis gel agarosa 1% dan divisualisasikan di bawah sinar ultraviolet. Hasil amplifikasi gen COI pada empat individu lebah tanpa sengat memiliki kualitas pita DNA yang baik dengan panjang base pair berkisar antara 600 โ€“ 750bp.

Abstract

Lebah tanpa sengat masuk ke dalam suku meliponidae dan merupakan lebah yang tidak menggunakan daya sengat sebagai alat pertahanan diri melainkan gigitan dan kerumunan apabila berada dalam bahaya. Indonesia memiliki keragaman jenis lebah tanpa sengat dan telah ditemukan sekitar 52 jenis yang tersebar di Pulau Sumatera, Kalimantan, Jawa, Timor, Sulawesi, Ambon, Maluku dan Irian Jaya. Dari beragam jenis lebah tanpa sengat yang ditemukan di Indonesia menunjukkan bahwa adanya keragaman genetik yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis hasil amplifikasi secara kualitatif dari DNA lebah tanpa sengat berdasarkan gen COI. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada rentang bulan Oktober 2024 - Januari 2025. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini meliputi pengambilan sampel, ekstraksi dan amplifikasi DNA. Hasil ekstraksi dan amplifikasi diuji dengan mengggunakan elektroforesis. Berdasarkan analisis kualitatif menggunakan gel agarose 1%, keempat sampel lebah tanpa sengat berhasil diekstraksi DNAnya. Ukuran panjang DNA dari masing-masing sampel lebah tanpa sengat diketahui berkisar antara 600-700bp dari hasil uji kualitatif setelah amplifikasi DNA.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki dua jenis kopi yang umum dibudidayakan, yaitu kopi robusta dan kopi arabika. Di Lampung, kopi robusta menjadi jenis kopi yang banyak ditanam. Masyarakat Lampung mayoritas melakukan budidaya di perkebunan tradisional. Keanekaragaman hayati pada kopi robusta secara genetik menggunakan analisis molekuler di perkebunan kopi rakyat masih belum banyak dilakukan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk uji keberhasilan amplifikasi gen N-Methyltransferase pada kopi robusta di Perkebunan Kopi Rakyat Lembah Gunung Betung, Bogorejo, Lampung. Tahap penelitian ini meliputi ekstraksi DNA untuk mendapatkan DNA murni, mengetahui ukuran amplikon DNA melalui amplifikasi DNA menggunakan commercial kit, dan elektroforesis 1% gel agarosa. Hasil amplifikasi DNA pada lima sampel daun kopi robusta memperoleh pita DNA dengan ukuran berkisar antara 630-650 bp, tidak terdapat smear, namun terdapat variasi ketebalan pita DNA.
