Abstract

The objective of this study is to identify butterfly species within the vicinity of Universitas San Pedro. The research was conducted across the university campus, utilizing roaming and point count methods at four designated stations. The Lepidoptera butterfly species diversity at Universitas San Pedro encompasses Nymphalidae, comprising 11 species totaling 111 individuals, along with Pieridae with 6 species and 54 individuals, Papilionidae with 5 species and 40 individuals, Lycaenidae with 3 species and 20 individuals, and Hesperidae with 2 species and 16 individuals. The average Lepidoptera butterfly diversity index is 3.202, indicating a high level of diversity, along with an evenness index of 0.972, signifying uniformity and stability within the Lepidoptera butterfly community surrounding Universitas San Pedro. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the effect of silicon (Si) application on soil microbial populations, particularly bacteria, nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) uptake under various growing media conditions, and its implications for corn (Zea mays L.) growth. The experiment used a completely randomized factorial design with two factors: Si concentration (0, 5, 10, and 15% SiO₂) and type of soil condition (standard soil, high-N soil, P-deficient soil, and high-organic-matter soil). The results showed that Si fertilizer application increased bacterial populations by 18.87% in the control medium, 134.6% in high-N soil, 134.7% in P-deficient soil, and 20% in high-organic matter soil, while the application of 15% Si in P-deficient soil increased P uptake by 53.7% compared to without Si, and in high-N soil, the application of 15% Si reduced tissue N content but increased its utilization efficiency. The increase in P uptake occurred through ionic competition between SiO₄⁴⁻ and PO₄³⁻ at the uptake site, while the decrease in tissue N content indicated Si's role in optimizing N utilization. Leaf Si content was relatively higher in all treated media compared to the control, followed by a tendency toward increased plant dry weight and stomatal number. These results indicate that Si application under nutrient stress conditions can balance N and P availability and improve physiological parameters supporting growth.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan jenis Research and Development (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kepraktisan modul digital dengan pendekatan gamifikasi pada materi sistem reproduksi manusia. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Muhammadiyah 6 Makassar, dengan sampel sebanyak 14 siswa dari kelas XI IPA. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket validitas dan kepraktisan yang diberikan kepada ahli dan pengguna. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi tingkat kelayakan isi dan kemudahan penggunaan modul digital. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa modul digital yang dikembangkan memperoleh skor validitas sebesar 91% dengan kategori sangat valid. Sementara itu, penilaian kepraktisan dari guru mencapai 88% (kategori praktis), dan dari siswa sebesar 84,5% (kategori praktis).

Abstract

Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan mengetahui kevalidan serta kepraktisan e-modul berbasis Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) pada materi jamur untuk peserta didik kelas X SMA. Subjek uji coba terdiri dari 32 siswa kelas X dan seorang guru biologi di SMA Negeri 9 Makassar. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket validasi dan kepraktisan. Hasil validasi oleh dua ahli menunjukkan persentase rata-rata 97% dengan kategori sangat valid. Uji coba kepraktisan oleh guru memperoleh persentase 85% (kategori sangat praktis), sedangkan uji coba kepraktisan oleh siswa memperoleh persentase 80% (kategori praktis). Dengan demikian, e-modul berbasis CTL pada materi jamur yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dan praktis sehingga layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar digital dalam pembelajaran biologi.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and examine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of a mini book learning media based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) for the topic of Global Warming in Grade X at SMAN 6 Palopo. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Borg and Gall development model, which was simplified into six stages. The sample was selected using simple random sampling, namely class X Hasanuddin. The research instruments consisted of validation sheets, questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. Data analysis techniques included tests of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The results showed that: (1) the media expert validation reached 86.25% and the material expert validation reached 91.25%, both categorized as very valid; (2) practicality based on teacher responses reached 97.50% and student questionnaire responses reached 85.50%, both categorized as very practical; and (3) the effectiveness of the mini book based on PBL reached 87.50%, categorized as very effective. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the PBL-based mini book is feasible to be used as a learning media for the topic of Global Warming at SMAN 6 Palopo.

Abstract

Borassus flabellifer, commonly known as the lontar palm, is a member of the Arecaceae family that thrives in arid regions and serves as the primary raw material in the production of songkok recca, a traditional handwoven cap. The local community in Pacing Village, Awangpone Subdistrict, Bone Regency, possesses indigenous ethnobotanical knowledge related to the utilization and management of this plant, particularly in the crafting of songkok recca. This study aims to examine the ethnobotanical role of Borassus flabellifer in the traditional songkok recca production process and to explore sustainable practices for its continued use from both ecological and cultural perspectives. Employing a descriptive-exploratory research design, data collection was conducted through surveys and semi-structured interviews using the Participatory Ethnobotany Appraisal (PEA) method. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. Findings indicate that Borassus flabellifer holds significant cultural and economic value within the local community. The preparation of raw materials involves harvesting the leaf sheaths, followed by a sequence of traditional processing steps—pounding (cacca-racca), burning, peeling, soaking, and fine-shaving using a traditional tool called paddari—to produce thin, smooth fibers known as racca, which are then used in weaving songkok recca.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) digital berbasis model Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) pada materi Bioteknologi Kelas XII. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Validitas dan kepraktisan LKPD yang dikembangkan dievaluasi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa MAN 1 Makassar dengan sampel kelas XII MAN 1 Makassar. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket penilaian validitas dan kepraktisan. Hasil analisis validitas menunjukkan bahwa LKPD digital berbasis SSCS pada materi Bioteknologi yang dikembangkan memperoleh persentase 96% yang berada pada kategori "sangat valid". Sedangkan hasil analisis kepraktisan guru mencapai persentase 91% dengan kategori "sangat praktis" dan pada hasil analisis kepraktisan siswa memperoleh persentase 94% yang berada pada kategori "sangat praktis". Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD digital berbasis Search, Solve, Create And Share pada materi Bioteknologi valid dan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based e-module on the human digestive system and determine its practicality. This research is a research and development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The developed e-module was validated by two expert validators and tested for practicality by teachers and 11th-grade students of SMA YAPIP Makassar. The validation results showed that the e-module was categorized as very valid, with percentages of 93% and 98%, respectively. The practicality test results for teachers were 87% (practical category), and for students, 83% (practical category). This e-module incorporates PBL learning syntax, is complemented by images, videos, a glossary, and an assessment rubric, and is flexibly accessible to both teachers and students. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the developed PBL-based e-module on the human digestive system is practical and suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Tin mineral in Bangka Island has been mined since the 18th century until now. Tin mining has a positive impact on the economy in Bangka and Belitung, but has a negative impact on the environment with the formation of many new lakes called Kolong. Some ex-tin mine lake have extreme water quality with a low pH. One of them is a lake in Nibung Village, Central Bangka Regency, which has been identified as having an acidity of 3.37. Several fish species were found in the waters with high acidity values, namely Rasbora einthovenii, Trigonopoma pauciperforatum, Rasbora bankanensis, Betta edithae, Brevibora dorsiocellata, and Aplocheilus panchax. The six species can be categorized as extremophile fish. These fish have the ability to adapt to extreme environments so that they have the potential to be used as phylogeographic models and historical distributions.

Abstract

Traditional markets in Merangin Regency, Jambi Province, are important places for the distribution and exchange of local biological resources, including plants from the Zingiberaceae family, whose roles and potential are widely recognized. However, empirical data on the specific species traded and their utilization are still very limited. This study aims to explore the diversity of Zingiberaceae family plants sold by traders in three traditional central markets in Merangin Regency, and to identify their various uses. The study was conducted at three traditional central markets in Merangin Regency, namely Pasar Bawah Bangko, Pasar Rakyat, and Pasar Baru Bangko. The type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The results obtained are 11 species of the Zingiberaceae family traded, and their utilization is used as cooking spices, drinks, medicine, and kias (antidote to witchcraft).
