The objective of this research is to find out whether Randalls‟ ESL Cyber Listening Lab as a teaching media for listening is effective for students‟ listening comprehension at the eleventh grade of SMA PRISMA Kota Serang. The researcher used quantitative research by using true experimental design. The population of this research is all students at eleventh grade of SMA PRISMA Kota Serang. The sample were divided into 2 classes, they were XI IPS 1 as the experimental class and XI IPS 2 as a control class. Each group consists of 20 students. Then, the result showed the significance degree of 5%. The result was t_count t_table (82.05 2.02), it means that the null hypothesis (H_o) is accepted. This indicates that Randalls‟ ESL Cyber Listening Lab is effective to be used as a media for students‟ listening comprehension at the eleventh grade of SMA PRISMA Kota Serang.

Penelitian ini membahas fungsi dan makna sastra lisan Banjar mahalabiu dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan fungsi dan makna sastra lisan Banjar mahalabiu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini berwujud teks-teks kalimat atau kumpulan mahalabiu dari informan yang tinggal di daerah Alabio Kabupaten Hulu Sungai Utara, Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan teknik observasi teks. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dengan mengumpulkan, membaca dan mengklasifikasikan fungsi dan makna sastra lisan Banjar mahalabiu. Dalam teknik analisis data digunakan analisis deskriptif, yaitu dengan menganalisis satu per satumahalabiu tersebut sesuai dengan fungsi dan maknanya. Dalam penelitian ini ditemukan lima jenis fungsi sastra lisan Banjar mahalabiu yang digunakan, yaitu: 1) fungsi mahalabiu untuk menguji kepandaian seseorang; 2) fungsi mahalabiu untuk meramal; 3) fungsi mahalabiu sebagai bagian dari upacara perkawinan; 4) fungsi mahalabiu untuk mengisi waktu pada saat bergadang menjaga jenazah; dan 5) fungsi mahalabiu untuk melebihi orang lain. Dalam makna sastra lisan Banjar mahalabiu, ditemukan empat jenis makna yang digunakan, yaitu: 1) homonim; 2) homofon; 3) pengurangan frasa; dan 4) komen tidak serasi dengan topik.

The purpose of this study is to find out the forms of social criticism in the short stories of the Angin Besar Menggerus Ladang-ladang Kami by Hajriansyah and Hitam Putih Kotaku by Rismiyana. The problems in this study are how the form of social criticism in the short stories of Angin Besar Menggerus Ladang-ladang Kami by Hajriansyah and Hitam Putih Kotaku by Rismiyana. The methodology used in analyzing the short stories is descriptive qualitative by using sociology of literature as the approach of this research. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be seen that there are many social criticism in both short stories as the object of study. Social critics include: criticism of the destruction of nature, criticism of the attitude of art, and criticism of promiscuity.

The existence of JawaBanten language and other languages in Banten contributes in making Banten as a multilingual community. As the result, the speakers of JawaBanten language have to choose the appropriate language to be spoken based on the participants , topic and the objective of their speaking. If the speakers of JawaBanten language frequently use dominant language, such as Bahasa Indonesia, Sundanese, and English in their community, the process of shifting language is happened. Therefore, schools have important role in promoting JawaBanten language by teaching it as local content, and it become oneof local government effort to protect the local language. In line with that, this paper aims to describe JawaBanten language that is used in the classrooms as local content. To explain the teaching application of JawaBanten language in classrooms, researcher conducted the research in some state schools in Serang which have implemented JawaBanten language as local content. Data was presented qualitatively after distributing questionaire to students and interviewing the teacher. This research was expected showing the fact of how the implementation of teaching JawaBanten language in the classroom.The result of the questionaire and interview hopefully will give recommendation for policy maker (local government) to make new resolution for protecting Jawa Banten language as local language.

Puisi “tak ada lagi†penggambaran hamba pada tuhannya. Puisi cinta yang menyampaikan kehadiran ma’rifat pada tuhan tanpa ada aling-aling yang melalui rindu pesan cinta akan tersampaikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendiskripsikan adanya konflik batindalam puisi “Tak ada lagi†karya Maisyaroh El-Shoby yang diterbitkan oleh koran madura edisi september 2016 dalam presepsi islam. Untuk metode dalam penelitian ini dengan menganalisis puisi bait per bait dengan menjelaskan maksud yang disampaikan oleh penulis dan menganilisnya dengan pendekatan eksistensialisme penganalisis dengan presepsi islam. Puisi “Tak ada lagi†ini menyiratkan akan ketuhanan yang tersamapaikan melalui bait puisi dengan pandangan-pandangan islam yang mengajak pembaca dalam lingkungan rohani yang begitu syahdu.

Novel as one of literary works that offers various problems of life both economically, socially and even tradition. Traditionally speaking, this Tarian novel on the Kyai Bed by Yan Zavin Aundjan also discusses traditions that take place in the community, especially the Madurese. This tradition is a tradition of early marriage. This research is qualitative research, while data and data sources used in this study are dance novels on the Kyai Bed by Yan Zavin Aundjan. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Descriptive method is a method that describes or describes the facts or symptoms systematically about the tradition of early marriage of Madurese people in the dance novel on the Kyai Bed by Yan Zavin Aundjan. Data collection techniques are done by documentation techniques. The data analysis technique was carried out by coding, classification, interpretation and description of the data on the tradition of early marriage of the Madurese community in the Tarian novel on the Kyai Bed by Yan Zavin Aundjan. The results of the analysis show that the early marriage tradition in the Tarian novel on the Bed of the Kyai by Yan Zavin Aundjan was characterized by several factors, namely the compulsion factor of parents, low education level, poverty and economic pressure, and custom that occurred in the characters Misnadi, Nisa, Iqbal, and Suci.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sikap mahasiswa Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) terutama yang berkaitan kesetiaan dan kebanggaan terhadap bahasa Madura. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif yang disertai dengan penghitungan statistik secara sederhana. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik kuesioner, wawancara mendalam, dan observasi. Teknik wawancara dilakukan dengan mewawancarai responden secara mendalam dengan tujuan agar keterangan yang diperlukan dan tidak ada dalam daftar pernyataan kuesioner dapatditanyakan langsung kepada responden. Teori penelitian yang dipakai adalah teori sikap, sikap bahasa, dan pemilihan bahasa. Dari hasil analisis data, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) dapat dikatakan bersikap positif terhadap bahasa Madura. Halini dapat dilihat dari hasil perhitungan persentase dari jumlah responden yang menjawab sangat setuju dan setuju sebanyak 76,6%. Sedangkan untuk kebanggan terhadap bahasa Madura menunjukkan angka 83,6%.

Adinda merupakan tokoh utama sekaligus judul sebuah monolog. Adinda berbicara dengan simbol dan senandung. Simbol dan senandung tersebut menyuarakan kepedihan hatinya ketika posisi sebagai seorang PSK tersudut dalam pandangan negatif masyarakat. Adinda merindukan kasih sayang dan mengharapkan perubahan dalam hidupnya. Namun, situasi dan lingkungan sosial tidak mau berterima terhadap profesi yang ia jalani. Dampak sosial yang keji tidak mampu dihindari oleh Adinda hingga akhir hidupnya. Makalah ini membahas ketersudutan Adinda dari berbagai simbol yang ada di sekitarnya. Pembahasan simbol tersebut dilandasi dengan teori semiologi Roland Barthez dengan konsep signifier-signified. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan, simbol yang terdapat di dalam monolog tersebut sangat signifikan dalam menyuarakan kesulitan Adinda sebagai bagian dari kelompok marginal.

Listening becomes the first step in learning. Nation and Newton (2012 : 37) states that listening is the natural precursor to speaking; the early stages of language development in a person‘s first language. The objective of the research is to find out the influence of using podcast in teaching listening skill. In order to achieve the objective of this research, the researcher conducted the data through true experimental in quantitative approach. The researcher used cluster random sampling. The researcher took control class and experimental class for gathering the data to be analyzed. Based on the calculation, it was normally distributed and homogen. Based on the result of test of mean difference significant (independent ), it was Calculated  or 0.33  2.01. The alternative hypothesis was received. It can be concluded that there was an influence of using podcast in teaching listening at tenth grade of SMAN 2 kota Serang.

This study investigated the practice of bridging course for immersion program at the graduate program, State University of Malang by looking closely at how the student teacher viewed the course concerning four related aspects; factors affecting successful learning English, material used during the program, expected English skills mastery, and lecturer’s qualification and strategies. Eight respondents from chemistry RSBI class were given an open questionnaire to get the data. This study reported that the students viewed the course was useful for them toprepare their speaking proficiency before implementing an immersion program in their own schools. Also, they argued that being proficient in speaking skill is the most important if compared with the other skills. They optimist about the results because the instructor was considered has good qualification and strategies to teach English. Nonetheless, there have been some factors that impede their learning English such as lack of the books, limited time for learning English, and less confident to speak English.
