Abstract

This study explores marketing management strategies employed by buffalo livestock traders at the Bolu-Rantepao Animal Market, North Toraja, in addressing extreme price volatility shaped by cultural and seasonal factors. Responding to a significant research gap in marketing practices within culturally embedded traditional markets, this study adopts a qualitative descriptive approach using case study methodology. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis with four purposively selected informants operating in high-volume buffalo trade. Analysis reveals that successful traders implement integrated marketing systems comprising five key components: market intelligence for predictive planning, product portfolio management through quality and segment differentiation, dynamic value-based pricing strategies, multi-channel distribution optimization, and customer relationship management (CRM) for loyalty and premium pricing leverage. These strategies enable traders to navigate volatile market dynamics, especially during ceremonial demand spikes such as the Rambu Solo. The findings highlight that adaptive execution, systematic planning, customer orientation, and feedback-driven improvements are central to marketing success. This study contributes to marketing theory by contextualizing modern management principles in traditional commodity markets and offers practical insights for strategic development in rural livestock economies. It also suggests digital adoption and CRM systems as key leverage points for future competitiveness in similarly structured markets across developing countries.

Abstract

Village development is essential for enhancing community welfare and fostering economic independence in rural areas, yet many village-owned enterprises face operational challenges that hinder their sustainability. This study aims to analyze the development strategy of the Lembang-Owned Enterprise Maju Bersama in Lembang Sa’dan Ulusalu, Sa’dan District, North Toraja Regency, to support sustainable rural growth. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing interviews, direct observations and document analysis. The findings reveal that the Lembang-Owned Enterprise benefits from a strong legal foundation and addresses community needs through its kiosk operations. However, weaknesses such as limited managerial skills, poor inventory management, and uncirculated capital due to unpaid loans impede progress. Opportunities include supportive government regulations and the region’s agricultural potential, while threats encompass low community participation and competition from external vendors. The study concludes that a Weakness-Opportunity strategy, focusing on capacity building and leveraging local resources, is critical for enhancing the enterprise’s performance. This research provides practical recommendations for improving managerial skills, community engagement, and partnerships to ensure the sustainability of village-owned enterprises in similar rural contexts.

Abstract

Conflicts between personal life and work are increasingly common due to dynamic work environments and growing job demands. This study aims to analyze the effects of Work Interference With Personal Life (WIPL), Personal Life Interference With Work (PLIW), and Emotional Exhaustion on Counterproductive Behavior (CPB) among employees at poultry slaughterhouses. A quantitative approach was employed through a questionnaire survey distributed to 196 respondents. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 4 software. The results reveal that WIPL does not significantly affect CPB, while both PLIW and Emotional Exhaustion have a positive effect on CPB. Moreover, WIPL and PLIW significantly increase Emotional Exhaustion levels. However, Emotional Exhaustion does not mediate the relationship between WIPL or PLIW and CPB. These findings highlight the importance of managing emotional fatigue and ensuring work-life balance to prevent counterproductive behaviors in the workplace. Abstract

The growing emphasis on environmental sustainability has prompted firms to adopt green innovation and sustainable growth strategies to enhance performance while addressing ecological concerns. This study investigates the impact of green innovation and sustainability growth rate on firm performance among Indonesian companies. Utilizing regression analysis with panel data from 2013 to 2022, sourced from the Bloomberg database, the research examines key performance metrics: return on assets, return on equity, and net profit margin. The findings indicate that green innovation negatively affects short-term financial performance, particularly return on assets and net profit margin, likely due to high initial costs of technology adoption and compliance. Conversely, the sustainability growth rate exhibits a strong positive correlation with all performance metrics, highlighting its role in enhancing profitability and operational efficiency. These results suggest that while green innovation may pose short-term financial challenges, prioritizing sustainable growth can yield significant long-term benefits. The study underscores the need for strategic implementation of green practices and supportive policies to balance environmental goals with financial viability, offering insights for policymakers and business leaders aiming to foster sustainable development in Indonesia’s industrial sector.

Abstract

Farmers’ access to sustainable finance remains a persistent structural barrier to agribusiness development in many developing countries. In Indonesia, conventional credit schemes often fail to align with the seasonal nature and risk profile of agriculture, limiting productivity and financial inclusion among smallholder farmers. This study aims to evaluate innovative financing models that can improve access to credit and sustainable investment in three agrarian regions: Kulon Progo, Jember, and Tanah Datar. Using a qualitative multiple case study approach, the research examines the design and implementation of value chain financing, blended finance mechanisms, and digital lending platforms within varying local agricultural contexts. The findings reveal that value chain financing in Kulon Progo significantly reduced non-performing loan rates to 1.2%; digital lending in Jember reached over 3,200 young farmers; and blended finance in Tanah Datar contributed to a 26% increase in household income. These results highlight the importance of coordination among agribusiness actors, financial institutions, and enabling policy frameworks. The study contributes practical insights for policymakers by identifying key success factors such as adaptive regulation, improved digital infrastructure, and institutional partnerships needed to scale inclusive financing models and enhance the resilience of Indonesia’s smallholder farmers.

Abstract

Development is a demand of society to achieve progress and prosperity. This study aims to analyze the impact of toll road construction on the income of MSMEs in Kampar Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with the data source in this study being primary data derived from questionnaire data collection with field observations. Observations were conducted using interview techniques with respondents from MSME actors who were directly affected by the construction of the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road in Kampar Regency. This study analyzes how toll road construction affects accessibility and MSME income, using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to explore the causal relationship between variables. The results of the study indicate that while accessibility mediates the relationship between toll road construction and MSME income, the direct effect of toll road construction is statistically insignificant. These findings indicate that infrastructure alone will not provide optimal benefits for MSMEs without measures such as improving distribution networks and training. The recommendations given in this study are the creation of rest areas for MSMEs, strategic placement of toll exits, and the involvement.

Abstract

Social media platforms, particularly TikTok, have transformed how consumers engage with brands, influencing purchase decisions through electronic word-of-mouth. This study aims to investigate the effect of electronic word-of-mouth on consumer purchase intention for Richeese Factory in Bandung, Indonesia, using the Information Adoption Communication Model. Data were collected from 253 TikTok users aged 18–30 years through a survey and analyzed using structural equation modeling with partial least squares in SmartPLS 4.0. The findings reveal that Information Adoption, Credibility, Needs, and Attitudes toward Information significantly influence purchase intention. However, Information Quality does not significantly affect Information Usefulness, indicating that consumers prioritize engaging and credible content over detailed information. The model’s marginal fit, with a Normed Fit Index of 0.777–0.788, suggests that unmodeled factors, such as algorithmic variability, may be present. This study underscores TikTok’s role in shaping consumer behavior in the fast-food industry, offering practical insights for Richeese Factory to leverage influencer-driven content. Future research should investigate the negative effects of electronic word-of-mouth and cross-cultural influences to improve model fit.

Abstract

Lecturers in higher education face challenges in balancing professional and personal responsibilities, necessitating flexible work policies and supportive leadership to enhance well-being. This study aims to examine the influence of Flexible Working Arrangement and Supervisor Trustworthiness on Work-Life Balance, with Perceived Organizational Support as a mediator, among tenured lecturers at Universitas Prima Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a structured questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale to collect data from 129 tenured lecturers, representing a 92% response rate from the total population of 140. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling to test direct and mediated relationships. The findings reveal that Flexible Working Arrangement and Supervisor Trustworthiness significantly enhance Perceived Organizational Support, which in turn positively affects Work-Life Balance. Additionally, Perceived Organizational Support mediates the relationship between both Flexible Working Arrangement and Supervisor Trustworthiness and Work-Life Balance. These results highlight the critical role of flexible policies and trustworthy leadership in fostering lecturers’ well-being in the Indonesian academic context, where such studies are limited. The study suggests that universities implement flexible schedules and leadership training to promote Work-Life Balance, contributing to improved job satisfaction and institutional productivity.
